Chapter Text
Artificer stared at the reminiscent of the long dead species, why was she here? Her species was long gone, her smell was rotten and solemn. By the look on her face, she could say the same thing about you. Her nose was wrinkled and her fur had bristled into a bush. Her claws were riddled with dried blood and her eyes carried a look of vengeance and hate. She was big and her fur carried a distinct mange. And to be honest, she could say the same about you. Your arm, leg, face, and tail were riddled with scars from explosive battles. Your arm was in fact nearly immobile because of it. Your eyes were dull and faded out, one was scarred and had its eyelids blown off. Your ear was blown off, your once silky skin was stained with dried blood from battles. It was obvious she had similar experiences. You two stared daggers into each other, it was obvious that you were similar in character. From your mane down to your paws. She was..something? She was fluffy like a scavenger, but she walked on four legs like a lizard. Her eyes resembled a slugcats, and her tail was like a yeek. She was beautiful, if you look past her scars and narrowed eyes. She was an oddity, she stood out. Her fur was red, white, and black. The red and white was dappled on top of the black. You stared at her, one of your eyes narrowed. You both heaved, it seems we both have left a battle. You hiss, outstretching your claws. She responds in a similar pose, arching her back and narrowing her eyes. Her pupils dilated and teeth bare. Her claws would stretch and by ancient, were they bigger than mine. You circled her, hissing loudly. She made an odd noise, it was rourr. It was weird, how’d she even make that noise? She seemed confused about your noises too, maybe she only understood scavenger, or lizard movements. What an odd species, you remember seeing something similar. Is this what those odd skin creatures worshiped? That doesn’t matter, those skin creatures are gone. Your train of thought is cut off by the familiar feeling of an explosion. You’re sent flying into the thing, pushing her back with you. Scavengers. What worthless creatures, only made to feed vultures and ect. You hiss at them, the critter behind you doing so too. It seems she’s displeased by the interruption as well. She lunges at one from the kill squad, it seems she had no technique at all. It was clear she could end the scavenger in an easy swoop, she definitely had the build for it. The scavenger couldn’t hold much of a struggle against her, they didn’t have claws. Your train of thought is blown away when you are in fact blown away by the other scavenger from the kill squad. Incapacitated for a good second, you close your eyes. When you can finally open them, it seems the battle has ended. She was visibly coated in blood, and the bodies of the two scavengers scattered near her. She hissed, probably mocking you. You hiss in response, how ignorant. A battle follows suit. Not much of a battle, but an attempt to see who’s more intimidating. To be honest, this thing has guts. It now knows full well you can survive explosions but still wants to fight. Does it even know how to climb poles? What is this thing? “ Who’re you! “ You hiss, she doesn’t seem to understand. She returns your question with a confused noise. Kinda like mrrp, or something. You watched her head tilt, she’s probably just about as curious about you as you are about her. You stand up, still cautious of her. It was obvious neither of you wanted to attack each other, most of this act was intimidation. “ Answer me! And while you’re at it, what are you?! “ You wa’d, lashing your tail. It was clear she understood as she hissed, her whiskers clinging to her snout. You were gonna return the gesture, until the ground shook and fear filled your body. You started to run, watching her follow behind; does she think I’m running away? You run, leaping over water and explosive jumping. She’s only catching up due to her strength. The rain started to patter, hard too. You run into the shelter, watching her slide right after me. She hissed, she didn’t take kindly to your flee. I sigh, if she kills me in my sleep so be it. We’ll both wake up here anyways.
