Chapter Text

HANA stood before the gates of  Grove High School, her heart fluttering with a mixture of excitement and anxiety. As she  glanced up at the towering school gates , she couldn't help but marvel at the beauty of her new surroundings. She is nervous because this school is a test, a test for her to see if monster people like her can go to school with humans. The only rules for this test is that if she shows any aggression she will be arrested, or if anyone finds out she is not human she will ruin any chance of any other monster people getting a good education. If she'd fail there would still be the others who were also sent to different schools but her failure would still be impactful.

She took a deep breath to steady her nerves, Hana pushed open the gates and stepped into the bustling courtyard beyond. The air was alive with the sound of laughter and chatter as students of all shapes and sizes mingled beneath the shade of the trees.

As Hana made her way through the crowd, she couldn't shake the feeling of being an outsider.

As she glanced around at the other students, Hana couldn't help but feel a pang of envy at their ability to blend in seamlessly with the crowd. She, on the other hand, is ridden with anxiety.

But despite the weight of her mission, Hana was determined to make the most of her time at Grove.

And as she steeled herself for the challenges that lay ahead, Hana couldn't help but feel a flicker of hope stirring within her—a hope that maybe, just maybe, she could find can help her fellow monster and maybe belong in the most unlikely of places.

With a newfound sense of determination, Hana stepped forward into the courtyard, ready to embrace whatever adventures awaited her at Sakura Grove High School.

After she walks into school Hana gets a call from her guardian Noxes Noxes:Hey how are you.  You getting settled in  good Hana replies "Oh hey Noxes  I'm good  And I'm settling in quite nicely."

Noxes:ok good. Noxes coughs a bit  And says  "there's a bookstore near you you should go apply for a job there." Hana is surprised that Noxes knows that she likes books. Usually people at the Monster Control Group do bother to learn about the monster they are supposed to control. "Oh wow ! I didn't know that thank you for telling me." "Ms.Hana" Ms.Ningyo her new teacher calls to her. "Yes Ms" Haha replies. "Well see you today we have an open house,  and since you are new here you don't have to participate in any of the events, so you can just explore the school. ok hun?" Ms.Ningyo says "ok that sounds good" replies Hana she waves bye as she walks into the hallways. She ends up behind the school and sees basically a forest but not as thick as one. Hana look at all the trees when she sees a beautiful girl eating under a tree. There,  the gentle sway of petals dancing in the breeze, as Hana decides to approached her tentatively, her heart fluttering with a mixture of curiosity and uncertainty.

HANA softly says "Um, hello. Are you... okay?"

The girl glanced up, her expression unreadable as she regarded Hana with a cool detachment.

The girl flatly said "I'm fine. Just enjoying the peace and quiet away from the rest of the rabble."

Hana couldn't help but feel a pang of disappointment at the girl's dismissive tone, but she refused to be deterred.

HANA.hesitantly spoke "My name is Hana. What's yours?"

The girl hesitated for a moment, as if debating whether or not to respond. Finally, she spoke, her voice tinged with a hint of reluctance.

"I'm RIN. Nice to meet you, I guess. Hana felt a little hurt but she was ok with getting hurt. She spoke um...do you have any friends?" Rin looked at Hana and said "no I don't." Hana replied with "oh good." A brief silence then Hana  she started to scramble "oh no. I didn't mean to say that I'm sorry you don't have friends well unless you don't want any."  As Hana was still scrambling Rin laughed "hahaha.  You know if you want I can show you around school." Hana looked at Rin and with a bashful smile she said "ok"

As the day progressed, Hana found herself drawn to Rin's side, their interactions punctuated by moments of awkward silence and fleeting glances. For some reason, Hana sensed a connection—a thread of understanding that bound them together in a way she couldn't quite explain.

As they parted ways for the evening, Hana couldn't help but feel a sense of intrigue and anticipation. She just wanted to see Rim again And as she went to her small one bedroom apartment she went to bed drifted off to sleep that night,  her thoughts lingered on Rin.
