Chapter Text
Gabriel found himself walking through the empty halls of limbo, his steps were slow but loud enough to be heard on the whole room. He was also being careful to not step on any of the dry corpses that lay on the ground. He could fly, yes, but for some reason that neither him knew, he decided to walk instead.
He couldn't help but feel a mix between anger and guilt as he looked at how ruined that place was, how many blood there was spread around the whole layer. How could he allow this to happened? How could he, the righteous hand of the Father, allowed to be beaten by that man-made machine?
All Gabriel thoughts vanished by the time his eyes saw them...
the machine.
What were they doing in here? They've already emptied the whole layer, what else could they be looking for if it wasn't blood?
They were peeking the corpse of a husk their foot, their pose conveyed a feeling of curiosity for the dead creature that was laying in the floor.
Gabriel's guilt was starting to vanish while his anger didn't do nothing but increase. This time he wouldn't fail, he was going kill them and make sure this never happens again, HE WAS GOING TO KILL THEM AND RECOVER BOTH HIS DIVINITY AND HIS HONOR AS THE JUDGE OF HELL.
He quickly took out one his swords and pointed it at the war-machine on an offensive position.
- MACHINE- The angel yelled, he was fully determined on winning this time.
The machine jumped a little from fright and instantly turned around to faced Gabriel. That was the time when the archangel realized something.
Their optic was a light blue...
Along as their wings... Where they always ray-shaped?
Their whole body was also a way lighter blue, compared to the machine...
Gabriel's whole anger got immediately replaced with a feeling of confusion. Was this...a new, completely different machine?
He didn't know what to do, he felt like he couldn't move, it seems that the unknown machine was feeling the same way, confirming that they were, in fact, not the blood thirsty machine Gabriel knew.
- Who... who are you?- he asked, slowly lowering his sword.
The machine didn't said anything, they took some moments to look at the angel in front of them. They looked at him from head to toe, were they scanning him or something?
After around 7 seconds of an awkward silence, the machine decided to 'say' something.
They waved at him.
Gabriel stepped back, he sure didn't know how to react to the machine waving at him like if they were good friends.
- Is this some kind of joke?- He said to himself in a low voice, but also loud enough for the machine to hear it.
They blinked two times as a reaction to his question.
There was another weird silence now, luckily, this one was shorter. It was interrupted by machine, who slowly started to walk towards Gabriel with curiosity on their eye.
Gabriel stopped them by quickly pointing his sword towards them again. Now having them just some centimeters far from him, he decided to pay more attention to their apparence.
They're very short compared to Gabriel, 1.70 meters maybe? They have a ray symbol on each side of their chest. They have another two ray symbols on each side of their head, but these ones are on a darker color. It seems they're themed around electricity, the angel thought.
- How many of you, man-made machines, exist?-
They shrugged, then proceed to sign something with their hands. They first pointed at themselves, then raised four fingers.
"So there's, at least, four of them... great." Gabriel thought. But to be honest, only the first machine he met seems to be causing problems, maybe it killed the rest those machines before entering hell, except the one in front of him, of course.
Gabriel lowerd his sword once again.
- Look... Four?- he gave a sight before continuing. - I... I need to get rid of a machine similar to you. And I would appreciate some help, if you don't mind-
God, he felt pathetic. Asking an object to help him with to get rid of the machine that kicked his ass just some hours ago. Did he really felt that low?
V4 made a some gesture, signing that they were thinking about Gabriel's proposal of an alliance. Then they turned back to face the angel once again and nodded.
He's not going to lie, he was kinda surprised that they accepted that easily.
- Oh! Well... We probably don't have much time left, we should get going- he said as he spread his wings, ready to fly once again.
Gabriel turned around and made a gesture with his hand, telling the machine to follow him.
Suddenly he felt how something heavy crashed into his back, he turned around just to see V4 climbed into his back, hugging him with both their arms and legs so they won't fell off.
Gabriel sighted.
- Let's go, I guess...-
