Work Text:

FanFiction

Mic pulled himself into a dark alleyway. He propped himself up and moved his hand to see       the wound. There was a deep cut in his stomach and he knew he was going to die from blood loss soon.       There would be no saving him.
He picked up the phone and dialed his husband, Aizawa's number.       He took steady breaths preparing to talk to him.

  1. "Hey babe, what's up?" Aizawa asked Hizashi.
  2. "nothing much. I just wanted to say I love you"
  3. "I love you too, is something wrong?"
  4. " No, I just wanted to tell you that I love you, is that so wrong? "
  5. "No no, I just felt something wasn't right. Are we still going out tonight?"
  6. " of course. I'll see you then. I love you"
  7. "I love you too, bye"

"Bye" and Hizashi hung up and started to cry. He had just lied to his husband about seeing him later.

He pulled up a picture of Aizawa. He smiled at the photo as he took his dying last breaths, ready for peace.

"NonononononononononononononNONONONONONONO!" Aizawa screamed as he threw a vase into the wall.       Steady tears were streaming down his face. The call he had just gotten was the worst one he could ever get. Nezu telling him that his husband had died.       He curled up on the floor and sobbed to himself. He was gone. Really, truly, gone.

A few days later there was a nock at his door. Aizawa did his best to compose himself before opening the door emotionless. His entire class was there. They were all holding gifts and food. He let them inside and they all gave him a hug. They all said sorry for your loss and set the gifts down on the table. He thanked them and everyone left.

Aizawa walked to the table, sat down, and began to cry again. One by one, he opened all of the gifts until there was one letter left. He saw that it was signed Hizashi. He took out the note and began to read it.

 Dear Sho,
I'm sorry I had to leave you so soon. The reason I called you before I died was because I wanted to make sure you knew I loved you. I know I probably bled to death. If I didn't call you to tell you that I love you because I died in battle, I still love you. I may not be there with you anymore, but I will always watch over you. I love you so much more than you could ever know. As I write this, I'm crying even at the thought of leaving you. I'm sorry it had to end this way. I love you
 -Hizashi 💕

The paper was tear stained and some of the ink was smudged. Aizawa was sobbing uncontrollably half way through the letter. He knew this would happen one day. Why didn't he tell me? He did tell me though. We had spent countless nights staying up crying together about the possibility of this happening. He spent those nights knowing, telling me how much he loves me, and yet I thought it was a joke. I wish there was a way that I could say I love you too. He thought to himself.

A month later at the funeral Aizawa was looking his best in a suit. Everyone was silent and everything went smoothly. Before the casket was closed, Aizawa have Hizashi his necklace.

Afterwards everyone was eating and laughing, trying to lighten the mood, but Aizawa just sat by his grave. He was completely silent and just stared.

The next day Aizawa went back into work. He denied what happened completely when people asked if he was okay. He didn't eat, sleep, or take care of himself for a while. All he did was train and work, just like when Oboro died. Nemuri and Tensei helped him out like how Hizashi did when Oboro passed. He went numb and still needed reminding to take care of himself. He felt nobody could help him now.
