Tsukishima had never looked so pretty. His blonde hair glowed against the black sky and you could almost see a halo floating above his head. You snorted loudly, Tsukishima and a halo did not belong together.
“What about this is funny?” he looked down at you in disdain, his nose scrunching at your obnoxious snort that quickly turned into coughing.
You turned away, giggling to yourself and sitting back further on your bench. It became yours when you stumbled outside to it 14 minutes ago, collapsing on it and deciding it was a good enough place to spend the rest of your life. Now, Tsukishima was here trying to rip you away from your new home.
You grinned at him, “You look like an angel.” As soon as the words left your mouth, you erupted into more giggles. A soft pink hue formed on his cheeks as he looked away from you. “I thought you said you were skipping out on frat parties from now on.”
You stared at him for a long moment and then frowned, whining, “Right. I said that too but they all dragged me here.”
He rolled his eyes, “I really don’t get you. You have no sense of self-preservation.”
You ignored his remark in favor of staring at the way the streetlights illuminated his hair again. He sighed loudly, reaching for your hand and attempting to pull you up.
Despite his best efforts, you refused to stand, going limp and whining about how your feet wouldn’t listen to you. Exasperated, he just turned away and bent down. “Just get on, you brat.”
You gasped excitedly and immediately rose to your feet. Conveniently, they suddenly learned how to listen. You hopped on, wrapping your arms around his neck and laughing loudly. He ignored your gestures and attempts to ‘ride him like a horse’. You didn’t mean it in that way, but he still reddened at your enthusiastic cheering. He swatted your thigh, sarcastically telling you to keep it down back there. You quieted down as your cheeks flushed and you leaned into his back, your chin on his shoulder.
“You ok back there?” he asked, voice slightly worried. You nuzzled your face deep into his hair and took a long, noisy whiff.
He jumped, almost dropping you, “What the hell?! You’re so weird.”
You sighed contentedly, “Your hair smells like cake.”
“My hair smells like-” you inhaled his hair follicles into your nostrils again, “STOP DOING THAT.”
Despite his protests, your ventures continued. Eventually, he gave up, sighing and mumbling to himself over the sound of your sniffing. As he approached your door, the noise stopped. He looked over his shoulder, your head unmoving, and grumbled, “And now you’re sleeping.”
After shoddily making his way inside, you groaned as he dropped you on your bed, Still asleep. he looked at you for a long moment, watching your face relax as you snuggled into your pillow. He turned away quickly when you settled. He let out a breath he’d been holding, his eyebrows twisting in confusion.
He left as quietly as he could and began walking back to his building. He ran his hand through his hair and paused, his face flushing. He tried to hide his smile. He really didn’t get it.
