It was horrible for Alejandro. Everyday, every single time he thinks about Noah, he always gets this one, specific, feeling. A feeling he also got when he was with Heather. But now, he and Heather had broken up a long time ago.
“See you later, I guess.” Noah tells him before sliding both of his hands into his pockets. “Ah, goodbye, mi amigo.” Alejandro smiles warmly. Noah puts on a smile as well before turning around and leaving the park.
Alejandro rubs his face with both of his hands, groaning as he leans back into his chair. It has been really frustrating. Especially since the moment he realized he liked Noah, romantically. Can you believe that? Alejandro Burromuerto, ‘that one spanish guy who can easily swoon the ladies over’, in love with a tired, cynical bookworm. What will his parents think of him? His brother?
‘We are disappointed in you, Alejandro. A boy? You should be ashamed.’
‘A boy?! Are you serious, Al? This is why you'll never be papá's favorite! I can't believe my little brother is a sissy.’
Alejandro's eye twitches as he thinks about José calling him ‘Al’. He sighs, running his fingers through his hair. Things have been so hard for him, much harder than before. There are so many things he wants to say to Noah, but can't due to his family. It isn't his fault that he was born in such a neglectful and unstable family. Right?
He decides to check the time.
12:56 AM.
His eyes almost go wide open as he reads the time. He was too caught up with his thoughts that he didn't even notice that it was midnight already. Why did he stay up late again?
Oh, right. An unfinished project.
Alejandro lets out a long groan once again, deciding to contemplate his decisions. Confess to Noah or not? He subconsciously fidgets with his bull necklace. ‘..It's best if I don't.’ He thinks, closing his eyes for a moment. It'll pass. It'll go away. And then he can finally be at peace. After all, it's not like Noah would like him back anyway. Hopefully, it'll be the right decision. Alejandro hears himself sniffle.
..He should really continue his project now. It won't be long until his alarm clock will go off.
Noah isn't exactly sure why, but he's noticed Alejandro getting slightly distant every single day. Surprisingly, Owen has noticed too. The asshole doesn't even come and sit at their lunch table anymore. Heather also noticed and is obviously pissed off.
Noah tries to ask Alejandro about it, but he always laughs it off and acting like a completely dumb person. It's gotten so bad to the point Noah just wants to punch Alejandro in the face.
But, it also hurts. I mean, almost all of his friends know that Noah developed a ‘small’ crush on Alejandro throughout the years. He isn't the only one. but, then again, it still hurts. Seeing someone that your close with (He and Alejandro weren't really that close but, uh, whatever), slowly distance themselves away from you without telling the reason why is genuinely so frustrating and awful.
But, it'll be fine.
He'll be fine.
They'll be fine.
