[Title Placeholder]

Summary:

This for some reason came to mind in the middle of English class while reading "The Great Gatsby", no clue why. This story and plot is NOTHING like "The Great Gatsby". I was also super tired when this popped into my head. So yeah. And yes, a story of mine with my OC's is actually going to have some sort of plot this time. This might turn out to be a bad story, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see as I type out the chapters.

Chapter 1

Notes:

(I have made all of my characters teenagers for this story, considering this is taking place in a high school. It would be weird to have people in their 20's going to high school. So, have fun with this I guess. And this story has elements from Genshin Impact such as the names of the magic, what the gods are called [Archons], and the sky island [more known as Celestia.] So, if you don't like the game, I hope you can at least give this story a chance. I like the game, and that is why I'm using these elements and such. Anyway, have fun reading.)

Chapter Text

High school. Not really the most fun place to be, but it beats having to deal with my overbearing parents. My name is Sylvester Arien (Are-e-en). In this world, there is magic, but only a select few are born with it. No, it's not like those movies where the kids with magic are considered freaks and made outsiders. In this world, everyone with magic is considered a normal person, considering everyone is some kind of creature. Elves, wolves, foxes, cats, things like that. Even demons and angels co-exist, but you know how they are. They don't really get along, but very few do. Some are even siblings, funny enough. I myself am a wolf with electro magic. People only realize I have magic when they ask if I have a phone charger, and even those that know tend to forget. Within the school, magic isn't really forbidden, but it's limited and it's not allowed to be used to cause any kind of harm to the rest of the students or else you will get suspended or even expelled. Normal school punishments, you know? Most of my friends are magic users, and even the principal is a magic user. Probably how magic users are even allowed in this school and not forced to go to a different school all together. Other than that, it's a relatively normal high school.

I was walking to my next class, History. I had my bag slung over one shoulder and looking down at my phone while I walked. It was around the middle of the day, so it was 3rd period classes and lunch periods. I wasn't paying attention to what was in front of me, and didn't register the quick tapping of boots against the tile floors. Next thing I know, someone bumped into me, and my phone fell out of my hand. "Hey, watch where you're going!" I was a little upset, but then I looked at who was sitting on the ground. It was a boy I had never seen before. His fluffy black hair covered his eyes, so I couldn't really say what color they were. He looked...human. I mean, sure. Humans did go to this school too, but there weren't many. He picked up my phone and handed it to me as he stood up. "Sorry...I'm just in a bit of a hurry." He sounded sweet, so I felt a little guilty for being rude to him. I gently take my phone back, stuffing it into one of my pockets. "Nah, you're fine. If anything, I should have been paying attention to what was going on around me. The name's Sylvester, and you?" "Erow...I kinda transferred here not too long ago, and today is kinda my first day. I've been scrambling about trying to make sure I'm not late to my classes." I smile, but then give him a confused look. "Say...why are you hiding your eyes? Do you not like them or something?" I ask innocently. He seems to just look at me for a moment. "You wouldn't believe me even if I told you. But...I don't have any. Not normally, anyway." Not normally? What does that even mean? "Not normally? Are you...blind?" I hesitated with my question, hoping it wasn't a hard topic or anything. I already felt bad for being mad at his as it was. He smiles a little. "No. It's hard to explain, so it would probably be best if I just show you.." he sighed, and then swept his hair back out of his face. There on his face were two empty eye sockets. I jump back a little, slightly startled at the sight. "Jeez...if you're not a human, than what are you for that to even happen?" I don't know if my reaction confused him or something, because he looked at me like I did something weird. "I'm a shapeshifter. With that in consideration, I don't have true eyes. Though, people normally run away when I show them my face...why didn't you?" Ah, so that was it. People normally get too scared and run off because they can't handle something so small. Snowflakes.

"I've seen worse. Well, you should probably form some eyes or something, so that you don't always have your hair in your face. Don't worry, people here won't make fun of you. Hell, if anything, you'll be considered normal here. I have dangerous electro magic on top of being a wolf, and people still treat me like it doesn't bother them. Sure, seeing that you have no eyes at first can be a little startling, but the demons here look even worse in their reflections and people consider that normal. You'll be fine here at Celeste, trust me." I adjust my bag on my shoulder. "Say, what class do you have next?" "Oh...History class. I'm just so lost though..." "Well, I have it too. You can just follow me so you don't have to run around aimlessly trying to find the room." He nods, shaking his hair back into place over his eyes. I begin walking to our class with the kid in tow.

.

It was the middle of class, the teacher had given us time to work on our assignments for the day. I was just minding my own business and doing my work when I heard the one person I hate most in the entire school walk up near my desk. I just ignore him, thinking he was over here to bug me about something. But, when he spoke, he wasn't speaking to me. Instead, he was speaking to the kid beside me. Erow. "So, another new kid. Looks human. Hey, why don't you just go back to whatever human school you came from? We don't need another weak, useless idiot. We already have enough of your kind here." Poor kid. He just got here and he's already getting picked on. I sigh out of frustration. "Zack, leave him alone. He hasn't done anything to you, so there is no need to mess with him." The kid looks at me, and I look up from my work to meet his gaze. "Who asked you to even be in this conversation, wolfy?" he snapped back. I stand up from my chair, I wasn't going to deal with him today. "He's a friend of mine, actually. An old friend. We met when we were little kids, but we lost contact after I had to move away thanks to my family issues. So, if you kindly fuck off and go bother someone else, that would be great." I give him an annoyed look, and in return he does the same. Erow was just sitting there, his head hanging low in hopes of avoiding having to take part in the confrontation. "Well that's just too damn bad, now isn't it? I will pick on whoever I damn well please, and there is nothing you can do to stop me." At this point, he was in my face. He knew I didn't like it, so he was doing it on purpose.
