Before the first leg of the Champions League semi-final game against Barcelona starts, Pernille Harder meets up with her three former Wolfsburg teammates, Fridolina Rolfö, Ingrid Engen and Caroline Graham Hansen.
She misses playing with them. She had a great time with them at Wolfsburg. But who knows, maybe somewhere in the future they will play in the same club again.
Pernille hasn't seen her friends for a long time.
Well, she had seen Frido at the friendly match, Sweden against Denmark, at the beginning of the month. But they didn't talk much on that day.
Frido is the first one who approaches Pernille pulls her friend into a bear hug. After Rolfö it's Ingrid's turn to hug the Danish captain. Last but not least, Caro hugs Pernille.
"How are you guys?", asks the Chelsea player her friends after they are done with the whole hugging.
"Good, we are excited for the game", replies Hansen.
"I can finally play again today", announces Pernille with a big smile. She is relieved that she can finally play again. "But I'm not going to start. I will come into the game", adds Harder. She is a little disappointed that she is not in the starting lineup. However, she can understand it because it's the first game after her hamstring injury. At least she can play again.
"We are so happy for you, P", says Rolfö with a bright smile on her face.
The Swedish Barcelona player lays an arm around her and pats her back. She pats the Dane on her head as well. She is really happy for her Danish friend.
She knows how hard this injury was for Pernille. But she also knows it was definitely also hard for Eriksson. Because she was at the other side of the world and had to watch how the woman she loves more than anything got injured during the game against Switzerland and couldn't do anything. The Barcelona player was there for her best friend and comforts her. She also stopped her from jumping on the next plane because Pernille told her girlfriend over the phone that she should say in Australia to support her national team.
Speaking of Magda, she joins the four women. The Chelsea captain gives her partner a small kiss on the cheek.
Harder leans her head against Magda's head and Eriksson lays her arm around her girlfriend's waist.
"So, what were you talking about?" asks the younger woman curiously.
"I was telling them that I can play today", answers Pernille.
Magdalena smiles from ear to ear when she hears that. The Swedish defender is over the moon that her girlfriend is able to play again in todays game. "Isn't that great that Pernille can play again?" says Eriksson happy and gives her girlfriend another kiss on the cheek.
"You guys are so cute", says Hansen.
"It almost makes you want to puke", adds Ingrid with a cheeky grin.
Magda and Pernille start to blush. Of course, their friends would tease them being all coupleling.
"The two of them were always so bad", says Frido and she knows what she is talking about. After all, the Swede knows the couple best and longest of the three of them. They all played together in Linköping. Frido was even there in the first few hours when the two fell in love with each other and got together.
"I heard you and Mapi are just as bad as us", says the Dane to her Norwegian friend and raises an eyebrow.
"Who did you hear that from?" asks Ingrid between curiosity and confusion.
"A little bird said it to me", says Harder and shrugs with her shoulders. But doesn't say exactly who said it to her.
However, Ingrid already has a suspicion who it could be. She looks directly to Frido because she knows that she was the one said something to Pernille. Who else? Certainly not Caroline or even her own girlfriend.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" asks Frido after she sees the looks her friend gives her, like she was the one who says something. Why does it always have to be her who said something to Pernille?
"I'm pretty sure it was you, Tweety", says Engen and crosses her arms over her chest.
Fridolina looks a bit offended that Ingrid accuses her of something like that and also calls her Tweety. Not that Tweety is an insult. She loves Tweety and thinks it's a cute bird. But to call her Tweety just because she might be the bird Harder is talking about.
Okay, maybe she told the Danish player one or two things about the couple.
However, it could also have been Caro who spilled the tea. But of course, it's always the bad Swedish player who said anything, so it can't be anyone else.
"And if so. It's nothing bad about it. You're head over heels in love with your little Spanish girl. It's something beautiful. You do not have to be ashamed about that", says Rolfö softly and without any teasing behind it. She means it.
Of course, the Norwegian isn't ashamed. Why should she? Like Frido said, it's something beautiful that she is so in love with Mapi. She loves her Spanish girl more than anything and she can definitely say that she is the love of her life. Ingrid would like to scream it into the world that she is in a relationship with this amazing woman.
However, she thinks it's a bit embarrassing when someone else talks about her relationship to another person, even though it's one of their friends.
"Besides, I also talked about our Caro and how much loves her own Spanish girl", admits the Swede and shrugs with her shoulders.
Both of the Norwegian players are really in love with their Spaniards. And they show it every time, how much they love their girlfriends.
Sometimes Rolfö really has the feeling she would be an outsider when she spends time with either of the couples. However, as soon as they realize that they make sure that Frido doesn't feel like that.
After Hansen heard that, she turns her head to Rolfö in disbelief. She can't believe what she is hearing. "Wait a moment. You talked about me and Marta?" asks Caro and raises an eyebrow at her so called friend.
"Oh, please. It's not like I don't talk about P and Magda and how much they are in love with each other."
And Rolfö tells the truth. Because literally every single day she talks about her favorite couple who, after almost 9 years of relationship, are still as in love as they were at the beginning. But both Magda and Pernille know that their friend is talking about them and have nothing against it.
Suddenly a certain Spanish player player joins them, it's Mapi Léon, the girlfriend of Ingrid Engen.
"Hola", greets Mapi the others with a big smile on her face. She cuddles into her girlfriend's side. Ingrid smile as she wraps an arm around Maria's waist and kisses her on the top of her head.
Moments later comes another Barcelona player to them. Caro's girlfriend, Marta Torrejón, also comes and joins them.
Hansen smiles at her and lays an arm around her girlfriend's shoulder.
"Did I hear my name?" asks Marta while she melts into Caro's arm.
"Yes, you did, my love. I just found out that our dear Fridolina over her talks to Pernille and Magda about us", says Hansen and glares at the said Swede but without any heat behind it.
"Really?" asks Torrejón and looksover to Frido. "Yes, I did", admits Rolfö.
"Okay", says Marta and shrugs with her shoulders. It's nothing new for her because she already knows about it. She thought that her girlfriend would know about it too.
Out of nowhere, Léon has brilliant idea. "How about we go on a double date?" suggests Mapi and looks over to the Chelsea couple.
When they hear this question, Harder and Eriksson share a look with each other and communicate without using any words.
After they make their decision they turn their heads back to the others. "We would love to", replies Magda for them and kisses Pernille on the temple.
"Great!" exclaims the smaller defender. She is already pretty excited about this double date they will do. It wouldn't even be the first double date they had with each other.
However, it's best to discuss the double date after the second leg. And it's also best to do the double date after the semi-final. Maybe they could do it directly in Barcelona.
But now they should concentrate on the two games and win them to reach the Champions League final.
