Work Text:
The water pounds hot against Jade’s sore shoulders. She cranes her neck back and forth, heedless of the fact that it wasn’t supposed to be a hair washing day. Steam rises quickly, invading Jade’s lungs, replacing the air of yelling and that stupid fucking fight.
A rush of cold, the creak of the door, the sliding of the shower curtain. She feels Kit slip in behind her, but doesn’t turn. She hates fighting with her after everything they’ve been through.
Then, strong arms wrap around her. Body against her back, Kit presses a butterfly kiss between Jade’s shoulders.
“I’m sorry.”
