“So this is the Circus, huh? I could get used to this.” Gummigoo observed the colorful fixtures of the circus, yet not a moment passed before Caine came in and shouted. “Oh! Looks like one of these guys made it through!” Luckily, before he could do anything, Pomni loudly blurted out, “W-Wait a minute, Caine!”
Caine paused what he was doing and looked over to Pomni as she took a stress-riddled breath. “Couldn't you just… Let him stay here?” Caine didn't even think for a moment before starting to instruct her about his line of thinking. “But my dear circus member! If I let an NPC roam free within the Circus, then there might come a time where I can't tell who's a human and who's an NPC! And if that happens, who knows what will happen!”
Pomni looked at Caine for a moment before glancing over to Gummigoo, and she paused for a moment to think. “Couldn't you just… I dunno! Put an NPC name tag on him or something?!” Pomni was stressed, unable to think straight as she tried to convince Caine to let Gummigoo stay. Caine hummed out in thought for an elongated period as Pomni moved over and quietly spoke to Gummigoo. “Sorry Gummigoo, I didn't think that you wouldn't be allowed here…” She said, with an apologetic look on her face. Gummigoo placed a hand on her shoulder. “Quit worrying your sad little head, you didn't know any better now did ya?” Pomni lets out another sigh. “I suppose not”.
Soon, Caine’s humming came to an end. “Great idea Pomni!” Caine shouted, interrupting the two as he poofed away and back in less than a second. In his hand was a little metal plate, which he stuck onto Gummigoos chest somewhat roughly. The tag read “NPC” in bold circus-colored text. “There! Since you love your NPCs so much, this is necessary for me to tell the difference!” Caine enthusiastically yelled out once again. “Now, I must go! It's time for me to drink water!” He poofs away again for the final time.
Gummigoo looked at the tag placed on him. “NPC, huh?” He soon found out that the tag seemed to be permanently attached to his chest. Pomni looked at the tag shortly after, before glancing up at Gummigoo. “I hope it's not too much of an issue,” Pomni said gently.
“Ah, don't sweat it! ‘Tis necessary for me to stay here with you.” Gummigoo chuckles, ruffling the top of her hat. The bells on her hat jingled softly as he shook it. “I appreciate the effort.” Pomni pushed his hand upwards. “Hey now, don't treat me like a child!” Pomni said, experiencing déjà vu. “Hah, whoops! Sorry” Gummigoo retracted his hand as awkward silence filled the room.
Luckily, Ragatha rounds about the corner before the silence could get any worse. “Hey, uh… Pomni? I hope I'm not interrupting anything.” Ragatha calls out to both of them, prompting Pomni to look over at her. “Ah! Uh… You're not interrupting anything!” She awkwardly rushed her words. “Oh, well I was wondering if you'd be okay with attending a funeral we made for Kaufmo… and Gummigoo can attend too if he wants!” Ragatha had a patient smile on her face.
“Ah, a funeral… terribly sorry for your loss,” Gummigoo tipped his hat in solidarity, “but I should pass. ‘Tis not my place to intrude when I don't even know the guy.” Gummigoo began to walk off, but not before patting Pomni’s shoulder. “Don't worry ‘bout me, aight? I've been planning to explore this area anyways, so I'll see ya later, okay?” Pomni didn't say anything, but nodded in response. Gummigoo let out one last chuckle before walking off to the outside of the tent.
“Nice to know that you two are getting along!” Ragatha commented. “Yeah…” Pomni said quietly with a small smile. “So what was that about Kaufmo’s funeral?” She asked. “Oh!” Ragatha blurted out in remembrance. The pair's conversation faded out as they walked to where the funeral would be held.
