‘Maybe it’s best I don’t remembe what happened’

Summary:

Adam doesn't remember any, and that's probably a good thing.

Work Text:

The man is awake, or he thinks he is. But the world around him wasn’t anything like he was used to. Where was the garden? Where was Lilith? What were these… Things around him? They looked like how he and Lilith looked like, but different. He didn’t talk to them, mainly because he noticed an angry look on all of their faces. He did not know why. It wasn’t just the world around him and the weird people that was different, it was also his body.

The man looked into one of the many things that allowed reflection. He was shorter due to his legs now being twisted, almost like how some of the animals back in the garden had. He also had this black mask of sorts on his face, the material didn’t feel like anything he felt before. He also noticed that his eyes and mouth were still visible, they now looked golden and glowing. He weakly tries to take the mask off but can’t. He then touched the horns that now protruded from his head. He looked down and noticed the piece of cloth that went around his upper body. It was black with normal-looking people on it holding things, it made the man smile for some reason.

The man continued to nervously walk around the red-skied city before stopping in front of a building. The building had an outside part with a bunch of colored squares. The tries touching them but some type of invisible force stops him. The invisible wall stopping him is cold. Similar to the unknown texture of the mask on his face, it was like nothing he had felt before. He backed away and looked at the images that played on the squares. He sees… Himself? No, it can’t be. The outfit- the look- that doesn’t look like him. Why does he have a wound? What happened? Why can’t he remember?

“Totally fuckable bad boy Adam recently died from a filthy janitor! Th-”

That was all He, Adam, could hear before going into a panic. He only stared at it for another 10 seconds before having to look away. Adam stopped focusing on the square and ran to a small space in between two buildings. He desperately tries to remove that mask, yet once again can’t. Adam laid down on the wet ground, crawled up and alone. He says to himself:

‘Maybe it’s best I don’t remember what happened.’
