Chapter Text
There is a small white house up the hill.
Elinor Carlisle sitting in the yard, looking up to the sky, the sky was overcast with heavy, gray clouds, while Elinor was in a good mood. Next to her was Peter Lord, who was her Aunt's doctor, and now her very close friend.
The breeze lightly blowing on her face, Elinor felt herself like a leaf, small, ordinary, yet green and young.
"It's going to rain." Dr. Lord said.
"Yes, maybe in a few minutes." Elinor said calmly.
"We should go inside now."
"Why?" Elinor looked at him, smiled, "I think small rain would make me delight. Most people hate it when it rains, for me, rain has the ability to clean things and breed new life."
"So we are going to sit here to wait for the rain to get us wet? As your doctor, I would not say this is a good idea."
Elinor tilted her head further back, letting a playful smile touch her lips. "Perhaps the rain could wash away some… heaviness, wouldn't you agree, Dr. Lord? After all, new life can only sprout from clean soil." Her eyes twinkled with a hint of defiance, daring him to understand her metaphor.
Peter sighed, "As charming as that sounds, Miss Carlisle, I can't let you get ill. How about we move to the porch swing? We can enjoy the pitter-patter on the roof without getting drenched."
