Work Text:
They're in a forest. Kohaku had taken Hiiro to the forest, supposedly to enjoy the view. The air was cold and the sound was of they're footsteps and the crunch of dead leaves on the floor.
When Hiiro's crush asked him if he was interested in wanting to go out and just enjoy the wilderness. How could he possibly deny him. When he got the text, Hiiro was on his bed ready to go to an ALKALOID practice. But only a second later he was in the bathroom, with his best casual outfit and doing his hygiene with the practice cancelled for the day.
He's talked to Kohaku a handful of times, but it doesn't take talking to a person for years to know that you want to be more to them. To mean more then them. Hiiro wanted Kohaku to treat him with the upmost care, like he was a piece of the finest food. But he knows Kohaku won't treat him like just a piece of meat.
Getting ready, the thought made him pause. He knew that Kohaku was Aira's best friend so Hiiro knew he wouldn't be breadcrumbed by the younger. Why was he even thinking that Kohaku was interested in him? The red haired boy shook the thoughts from his head.
The breeze was nice. And so was the experience as a whole. It all felt so surreal, and Hiiro never wanted the moment to end. Kohaku said he had a meal planned when they arrived at the spot. Hiiro looked at his phone and at the text that was sent to him, recalling the burst of joy he felt reading it.
Kohaku <3!!: hey hiiro I was wondering if you were free this afternoon?
Hiiro blushed as he remembered. The two made idle chit chat as they walked, occasionally pointing out the pretty flowers and animals they would stumble across.
“Kohakucchi, why did you invite me and not Aira? You two are closer than you are to me or am I mistaken?” The red head said, looking at Kohaku who was next to him. He acted like he didn't care but inside he was extremely happy that Kohaku chose him, and not the blonde.
Not like he had anything against Aira, but he just felt so… happy to know he was first. Though him and Kohaku weren't the closest ever, Hiiro liked imagining this was a little date between the two.
It was quiet for a bit, the two said nothing but walked through the thicket. “Rabu-han. He jus’ ain't what m’ lookin’ for. Ya get what I mean?” Kohaku said. Hiiro didn't get it at all. Does this mean… he wants to date someone like me..? And not Aira..! The redhead said to himself.
“Yes, I do! It's really nice hanging out with you Kohakucchi-san! We should go out more often! I was wondering if…” He hesitated, Kohaku turning to look at him expectantly. “Ya were wonderin’ what?” The younger asked. Though Kohaku seemed cute due to well, everything really. His words carried the sharpest venom and his eyes felt like an assassin’s blade.
Hiiro took a deep breath, “I was wondering if you wanted to uhm. Go out with me… I've been crushing on you for a while now.. well, it's good to finally get that off my chest!” Hiiro, tried to brush it off by saying the last part. He noticed how Kohaku wasn't saying anything back.
Kohaku then broke into laughter. “Koh Koh Koh~! Ya really mean tha’? Course ya do. It's written all over yer face. M’ flattered!” The pink haired boy said, and Hiiro felt his heart skip a beat. Does this mean Kohaku feels the same way?
Though only Kohaku knew how he truly felt. It was like everything was going into his favor. While all of this had gone down, they continued to hike through the forest. The two continued to talk and laugh. The sun was still up, casting it's beautiful rays down on the pair. How could this go any better? “Ah, Kohakucchi-san! These flowers remind me of you!” Hiiro suddenly exclaimed.
He pointed at a small patch of pink flowers, just early into their bloom. He ran off the dirt road and Kohaku soon followed, sighing at Hiiro's eccentric behavior. Though Kohaku's mouth formed the smallest of smiles as he walked towards his partner. “Oh, they sure are pretty…” Kohaku agreed. Watching as Hiiro crouched to pick them.
“Like you! That's why I said they reminded me of you” Hiiro said while standing back up, brushing off the dirt on his pants, before turning around to Kohaku and putting the flowers he got neatly in the pretty pink hair. Kohaku's eyes widened but he let it happen. How nice!
The two quickly got back on trail and continued to walk. Not much time later, Kohaku said they were at the spot he picked out. It was a secluded area, far from the open forest they were just in. It felt almost claustrophobic. But still it was very pretty. They were far away from the rest of the world, which meant they could do whatever they wanted…
Hiiro was snapped back into reality by Kohaku's voice. “Hiiro-han. Can ya come here real quick?” The older boy nodded and quickly hurried to Kohaku's side, looking for what he needed assistance with. Before feeling it. A warm kiss on the lips.
It went slow, nothing sensual. Just a kiss between possible lovers. Hiiro felt something enter his mouth, and he felt himself swallow it. Just like that, Kohaku pulled away and smiled. Hiiro blushed and smiled back, before suddenly feeling light headed. Though he brushed this off as him getting the jitters from kissing his crush.
Oh.
Hiiro was stupid, yes he knew that. But even then he wasn't that much of an idiot to now know that he has just been drugged. Almost like it was staged, his vision went blurry and hit the floor with a loud thump!
Kohaku chuckled as he watched it go down. To him, this was the closest form of intimacy you could get. Eating your lover. He was going to delicately cut Hiiro, and enjoy what was given to him. The pink haired boy grabbed the knife and went towards the unconscious boy's body. He was doing this out of love.
“The signs were clear ya know… I asked ya an’ not Rabu-han cause yer more then him. He's just bare skin in bone. Can't enjoy a meal like that now can you? Also. I don't love him like I do you…” He smiled and placed another kiss on Hiiro's lips, before digging the knife into him.
Precisely he cut off what he wanted, like he's had experience. Blood splattered on his hands and clothes, but that filled him with butterflies. Red, the color of love. The red from inside of Hiiro's body was on him. Kohaku traced a heart on Hiiro's cheek, and then on his own.
Once he washed it off, he quickly gathered the parts and set them on a tarp, as he didn't want any bugs to get on it. He poured water in the portable pot, and set it to boil. Kohaku wasn't one to go over the top with his food most of the time but this was Hiiro he was dealing with.

Kohaku and placed his meal on his plate, it was better to get it all over instead of carrying it all back to the dorms. He stared at the head, and the pink flower fell on Hiiro's eye. Good. Kohaku thought. Now he didn't have to feel the regret of killing his beloved. It was a lot left, maybe he'd keep some in the fridge. As long as no one notices, it'd be okay.
He disposed of the materials he used and headed back.
When the pink haired boy returned, no one had acknowledged that he had left, which was good. It was only until the next day he had woken up by the members of ALKALOID and his own, desperately asking people if they had seen Hiiro.
Kohaku's a good friend. He comforts Aira, who didn't hide his crush on Hiiro very well. But Kohaku will live happily knowing that he's the closest person with Hiiro now.
