Understated, but dynamic. Sensitive, yet bold. Classic, yet modern.
These may sound like they contradict themselves, but all can be found in the latest collection by up-and-coming designer, former actor, and seemingly perennial supporting role, Uncle Deadly. With rumors of the brand’s featuring in New York Fashion week this year, it seems inevitable that he’ll rise to be one of the leads of the fashion world.
He is surprisingly humble in one aspect. True, he can go on for hours on every stitch made, talk endlessly about how truly, fashion is just another form of symbolism–
but there is always one name he will bring up.
Once again, the ever-impressive Miss Piggy takes center stage. In the central image, decked out in flowers, laying in the water amongst the trees, she resembles a modern-day Ophelia. And yet, she’s climbing out; looking towards the viewer, she seems to know she can’t stay there, can’t stay stuck in the marsh.
The pair have been in constant collaboration since the early 2010’s, with Piggy having him as her personal assistant for the last several years. Perhaps it is a flair for the dramatic that unites them both. At any rate, she perfectly epitomizes the tagline for this season’s collection. Steal the stage.
