You are a laughingstock. For all your life you’ve been nothing more than an object of ridicule. By your peers, your family, everyone.
The more you endure, insecurity sprouts from deep within you. Through the constant abuse, you learned a hard truth.
Fear is control.
Just imagine it: Those who looked down on you, spit on you, picture them fleeing in terror! Reduced to sniveling cowards, confronted by a monster of their own invention.
Mere human beings, at the mercy of their most primal of emotions.
You never felt human. Not after your so-called “fellow” human beings so cruelly cast you aside.
Wouldn’t it be so much easier to escape the shackles of humanity? The shackles of fear?
To embrace how they've stripped you of your personhood, rising above humankind. Molting away your mortal flesh and being looked upon as you truly are.
You distance yourself from others. From the person you were forced to be. You build a new self, willingly letting go of that humanity in your pursuit to become an icon of terror.
But try as you might to escape your past, it’s futile.
Ultimately, your driving force is inescapably intertwined with your beginning. The insecurity that’s nestled within you.
It’s your reason for being.
