Chapter Text
"Dad! Dad!"
Ichigo's focus was pulled away from he was doing, to look over his shoulder in the direction his son's voice was coming from.
"Kazui? What's wrong?" Ichigo called out as he pushed himself to his feet. He didn't sense anything weird, but there was a sense of urgency and franticness in the teenager's voice. And Ichigo didn't like it at all. Maybe Kazui had an injury or something, though he doubted that. Kazui was pretty strong in his own right. He wouldn't deny he used Shunpo to be there in an instant. Whatever he'd been expecting wasn't what he saw.
Kazui was fine. There didn't seem to be even a hair out of place. But in his arms was an unconscious young woman. She slumped against his chest, and blood was smeared across her pale features. The source seemed to be a wound on her temple, blood dripping from it.
"Kazui? Wha-"
"We have to help her." Kazui was careful as he carried her up to his father, though the urgency didn't lessen any.
"What happened?" Ichigo asked, as she was transferred over to him. There was hardly any weight to her.
"That Hollow attacked her.." Kazui's voice softened. "I saved her, but.. She needs help."
"Alright, alright." Ichigo turned so he could take her back to one of the clinic rooms. "Do you know if she's hurt anywhere else?"
"I'm not sure. I don't think so." Kazui responded, moving to follow his father, only to be stopped. "Dad?"
"You wait here, I can handle it. Let your mom know what's going on when she gets home." Ichigo said.
"Alright..." Kazui trailed off, but he didn't make any move to keep following.
With that, Ichigo continued on with their new patient to see just how bad her injuries were. Unfortunately, he wasn't prepared for what he was about to see.
