"It's so pretty here, wouldn't you agree Arinya?"
"It is. The forest seems to flourish here."
Oceanis turned back to Arinya. There was a big smile on her face as she stood in the river. Arinya sat on the grass, flowers blooming all around.
It was a nice place for quiet solitude, to not worry about everything that was happening in the world.
"Say, has it ever crossed your mind that one day... we don't have to stay here anymore?
"What do you mean?"
"Just curious." A chuckle came from Oceanis. "I wonder what could be if we didn't have to worry and protect everything anymore."
"hm... Well, I would hope that we can all stay together the way we are in this time."
"Hey! Don't be all that cheesy Ari!"
"Cheesy?"
"Yeah, cheesy."
"..."
"..."
The two stayed silent for a moment, before bursting out into laughter. This was nice for both. As unfortunate as it may is, days like these are rare. But it makes these days all the more cherishble, does it not?
"Right. So what do you want to do in that scenario?"
"What scenario?"
"The hypothetical one, where we can do what we want."
"Oh yes, that one!" Oceanis was thinking for a moment. "I want to go on a ship! Explore everything all corners of the world has to offer!"
"That sounds lovely. I, too, am curious about everything in this world."
"Wouldn't the tree roots be able to inform you on this? I mean, nature is everywhere, even underwater!"
"Well, while the latter part is true, the experience is always different from the stories."
"That's true. But would you even be able to touch water?"
"Pardon? As far as I'm aware, I won't just combust."
"Hmmm..."
Oceanis then splashed water at Arinya. She started to laugh, all the while Arinya looked a little dumbfounded. After a little, Arinya once again joined in on the laughter.
"Well, at least you don't suddenly overgrow with plants."
"Thankfully no. But..."
Arinya carefully splashed some water at Oceanis, who gasped in fake offence. The water splashing went back and forth for a while, both enjoying the time spent together like this. Laughter filled the little clearing and rang out on the paths in between the trees.
A few hours had passed. Both Arinya and Oceanis now laying in the grass, letting the sun dry them (and their clothes and hair) up. Most was spent in comfortable silence, a little bit of small talk here and there. The sun's beaming rays lighting up Oceanis' eyes, while Arinya's eyes were closed.
"It's truly nice being able to spend time like this with you Ari."
"We should do this more often, yes."
"Too bad that Magmiam and Cloudias couldn't make it to this place. They would've loved it here..."
"Or would you and Cloudias just create a rainstorm again?"
"Hey!"
"What?" Arinya softly chuckled at Oceanis' reaction. "It is true, last time-"
"I know what happened last time Ari. You don't have to remind me." Oceanis spoke with a deadpan tone, which was mixed with fake offense. "Besides, me and Cloudias have learned from that."
"Right... it is mainly you that has learned from that, although..." Arinya looked somewhat reminiscent of something. However, she decided to shrug it off. "Nevermind."
Arinya and Oceanis sat in a small silence, enjoying this moment. After a while Arinya gave a small flower to Oceanis. A blue rose.
"Hm? What's this?"
"It's a flower."
"Yeah, I can see that. But why-"
Before Oceanis could finish her question, an exited and hyper voice interrupted her, followed by a deeper voice and more calm voice.
"There you two are! We've been looking everywhere for you!" Cloudias yelled out.
"Don't exaggerate so much Cloudias, we didn't have to look for long." Magmiam corrected Cloudias.
"Still coulda left a note though."
"Our apologies, we did not mean to cause you such trouble."
"Yeah, sorry. Wait... You're not our babysitter!" Oceanis retorted
"Sometimes that begs the differ." Magmiam chirped in. "Still, Cloudias has a point. Please at least leave a note to tell us where you are."
"We were worried that something might've happened to you."
"Fine! We'll leave a note next time." Oceanis said, giving up on the discussion.
"I concur, we shall leave a note." Arinya agreed
And so, the peaceful silence between the two gals came to an end. Now accompanied by two more friends. The day slowly yet cheerfully came to an end.
