Chapter Text
Chris stared down the producers at the meeting table. His eyes were glistening with a newfound idea. His executive meeting was called on a random Tuesday, but everyone could tell it was because of his new burst of motivation. Chris looked each and everyone of them in the eye, before saying the line that would change the summer of 20 teenagers:
“We need a new show. And I’ve already got everything all planned out.” Chris smirked a devious grin, before taking out a file of all his plans and throwing it onto the circular desks, alerting all the producers.
“Chris, it’s been years since your last hire, you’ve given us no warning at all and who knows if reality shows are even popular anymore, this is very-“ The ongoing producer was cut off by Chris’ blatant uncaring demeanor.
“I don’t care! It’s gonna happen. You want it! You NEED it! It’s gonna be the best show yet, and it’s gonna be way more interesting then anything else you got cooking up! Read the file, it’s all in there.” Chris walked up to Chef, who had watched the entire interaction unfold.
“You think they’ll say yes?” Chef asked with a raised eyebrow.
“Of course they will. It’s my best idea yet.” Chris laughed, and laughed, and laughed.
Camp Wawanakwa. The rotten beaches and the broken down cabins, it had all been the same as Chris remembered from when he had chose it as his shooting site. As Chris waited for the recording to begin, he knew it was gonna be great. Once he gets the sign, it’s time to begin.
Chris smiles and looks straight at the camera. “We’re coming at you live from Camp Wawanakwa, somewhere in Muskoka Ontario! I’m your host, Chris McLean, dropping Season One of the hottest new Reality Show on Television, right now!”
Chris walks down the beach, before he continues. “We’re bringing in contestants from all around to fight out for the ultimate prize: one… million… DOLLARS! But how? Here’s the deal,” he smirked, “20 campers have signed up to spend the foreseeable weeks right here! At this crummy old summer camp. They’ll be forced to compete in challenges against each other, and let me tell you, it won’t be easy.”
Chris is now at the elimination area, where he smirks and points down to the dock. “Their fates will be decided here, where after each challenge, all but one camper will be declared safe from elimination and receive a marshmallow. Every three days, one team will either win the challenge and a reward or lose and watch one of their team members walk down the Dock of Shame, take a ride on the Boat of Losers, and leave Camp Wawanakwa for good.”
Chris appears in the middle of a forest, and continues talking. “In addition, around the island are three hidden statues. These statues can be played before the votes are revealed, and will give the person who uses it immunity from any vote they receive! Crazy, right?”
Chris finishes by returning to the dock, where he begins to wrap up his speech. “In the end, only one Camper will be left standing and will be rewarded with a million dollars. But, let’s be honest, it won’t get them very far. To survive, they’ll have to battle black flies, grizzly bears, disgusting camp food, and worse… each other! Every moment will be caught on one of the hundred cameras situated all over the camp. Who will win? And who will crumble under the pressure? I’m dying to find out! We’ll find out when we return on… Total! Survivor! Drama!”
“And we’re back! We’re currently waiting on the campers who will be fighting it out! Speaking of which, here they come now!” Chris excitedly points down the ocean, and towards a boat carrying the teenagers. The boat arrived at the dock, and a large group of teenagers awaited to get out. “First up, we have Alice!”
A short girl with long curly hair and a sort of round shape, wearing gray sweatpants and a white shirt with a maroon sweater on top, walked up to Chris, waving as she walked. “Hello, Chris! I’m so excited to be here!”
Chris laughed, “I’m sure you are. Have you read the contract?”
“Has anyone really?” Alice giggled and walked down the dock, both hands carrying her luggage. She stopped near the end of the dock and waited patiently for the next person.
“I’m sure someone has! Anyways, here comes our next contestant… Angel!” Chris excitedly announced.
A tall Latino boy walked out of the boat. He had a middle part and wore baggy jeans and an unbuttoned collar shirt with a white tee underneath it. He held a wheeled suitcase in hand, and looked around the island. He scoffed a little, before turning his attention back to Chris and smiling. “Yo, Chris! Dap me up man!”
Chris smiled and shook his hand, “You ready to live it out here?”
Angel smiled and shook his head, “Nah man, this place looks like it sucks!” He walked down next to Alice and clicked his tongue, smiling at her. Alice giggled a bit and looked back at the boat.
“It’s time to introduce our next contestant, Brooke!”
A girl with dark, black hair walked out of the boat. She wore a very bright and pink outfit with a bow in the back of her hair. She had a Hello Kitty backpack on her that carried all her belongings. “Hello!” She waved and smiled, walking to Chris and shaking her hand.
“Welcome Brooke! You’re very… bright!” Chris exclaimed with a slight burden in his tone.
“If that was intended to be a jab, it won’t hurt me!” She walked down the dock to join the rest of the contestants. She waved at them both.
“Well aren’t you preppy.” Angel remarked with slight grimace.
“Geez, aren’t you rude?” Brooke replied rather quickly.
“Ah…” Alice said with realization that this was gonna be a long journey.
“Our next contestant made sure to read every single page of the contract, Caspian!” Chris pointed to the next approaching person.
“There was no need to introduce me like that.” Caspian said while fixing his glasses. He had on a white and blue collared shirt, with khakis and dark brown hair. He got an immediate side eye from Angel and an intrigued look from Brooke. Alice just waved.
“Nice to know some people aren’t judgmental.” Caspian said as he waved back.
“So you’re the person who’s read the contract..?” Alice asked in shock.
“Of course. You didn’t?” Caspian asked in amazement.
“Haha… no…” Alice shyly replied.
“And here comes the third guy so far, Cedar!” Chris continued his ecstatic tone as the second guy walked in.
“What’s up?” Cedar said, with his fluffy brown hair flowing in the wind a bit and his brown eyes appearing in the sun. His black sweater and gray jeans were both very monotone in color. He carried his luggage over to the others, where he waved. “How’s it going?”
“It’s going good.” Brooke giggled. Caspian gave an eye roll at the predictability.
“Let’s give our attention to, Daniel!” Chris cheered as another person walked up to him.
“Hey! This place looks pretty dodgy…” Daniel smiled weakly and gave a handshake to Chris.
“I know! It’s great, right? Chris laughed, to which Daniel dropped his smile. He walked over to everyone else. His curly black hair and glasses were combined with a black sweater and light brown pants. “You guys don’t seem so bad.”
“Some of us look better than others.” Angel laughed, which earned a small chuckle from Daniel.
“Uh, guess so.” Daniel awkwardly said.
“Yikes. Oh, and now we have Eliza!” Chris switched up after seeing the next girl walk down. She had long and curled red hair, with light freckles on her face and a smile. She wore a crop top and ripped jeans, which extended low onto her shoes.
“Hey, everyone! Guess this is where we’ll be staying..?” Eliza asked with a wide smile.
“Right you are!” Chris assured her, before passing off his attention to the next person.
“Alright, then.” Eliza didn’t change her expression and kept walking.
Chris just watched her before suddenly saying, “It’s Ethan, everyone!”
“There’s no way this is correct.” Ethan grimaced as he walked down the dock. He had very short, black hair and blue eyes, with a shark tooth necklace and a gray compression shirt. His jeans and shoes strided across the dock angrily. “We’re staying here? I could afford a better motel for like 5 bucks!”
“Well, this isn’t a motel, is it?” Chris chucked and patted Ethan’s back.
“Guess not.” Ethan sighed as he walked to the others.
“Someone’s mad…” Caspian said with a little bit of wit, but only got an aggressive glare as a response.
“Moving along now! We have, Isaac!” Chris cheerfully shouted out.
“I don’t think shouting is necessary, man.” Isaac warmfully replied while walking up to Chris. He shared a small fist bump with the host before he kept walking. Isaac was a light dark skinned teen with black curls, wearing a green shirt and gray pants. “What’s up everyone?”
“Followed up by, Julienne!” Chris decided to announce before anyone could answer Isaac.
A girl with short, curly hair walked over to them. She had a cargo sweater over her crop top and black bell bottom jeans. “People usually just call me Julie.”
“I’m good! Take a spot over there with the rest.” Chris smiled at the girl as he directed her. “And wasting no time at all, it’s Katie!”
Another girl walked out of the dock with an incredulous look. She wore braces and had her brown hair braided, with her tucked in shirt and cross necklace hanging over her chest, and her gray pants following her steps. “Well, it can’t be that bad.”
“Indeed it can’t! Take a spot with the rest.” Chris agreed with her.
“Wasting no time, are we?” Katie said with a slight smile.
“Yeah, this is taking forever… oh, but here comes the next person! Kaylee!” Chris was starting to get worn out from all this shouting, but oh well!
Kaylee walked down gracefully, with a butterfly clip keeping her ponytail in place and a cardigan over her shirt and baggy jeans. “Yeah, this isn’t right.”
“What isn’t?” Chris maliciously chuckled.
“This place. It’s definitely not the place I saw from the advertisements.” Kaylee pulled out a pamphlet, to which Chris destroyed it immediately.
“Haha, don’t care! That was the before pic, dude!” Chris laughed, but Kaylee didn’t see the humor in it.
“Don’t call me dude.” She kept walking past him and to the other people.
“Got an attitude?” Ethan asked with a mocking tone.
“Care to find out?” Kaylee replied menacingly.
“He's good.” Angel quickly replied to her, which earned an annoyed look from Ethan. Angel just shook his head in disapproval.
“Tension already? Nicee.” Chris said with a grin, before continuing on with the show. “Next up, Luke!”
A blond, fluffy haired boy walked out of the boat with a sports jersey and denim jeans. “Yooo!” He exclaimed as he hugged Chris, who looked surprised by the sudden encounter. Chris dusted himself off as Luke went to the other campers.
“You guys ready for this?” Luke gave a smile and waited for an answer.
“Hell yeah, dude.” Ethan fist bumped the blond haired boy.
“Great, not even seconds in and there’s already boys being annoying.” An unknown girl walked out of the boat, not waiting on Chris for an introduction. Her jet black hair had an orange fade in it, which extended to right above her hip. She had many bracelets slapped around her hand and wore a t-shirt with an image of flowers, and her black pants complimented her black eyes.
“It’s Mai! Couldn’t wait for me, huh?” Chris said with a sour tone.
“Nope.” Mai replied with haste as she made her way to the rest. She looked at Brooke, then Julienne, then Kaylee. “This’ll be fine.”
“That’s the spirit!” Alice replied with a chuckle. Mai side eyed Alice, as if saying she wasn’t talking to her, and continued watching the rest. Alice chuckled awkwardly and decided to stop talking to her.
“Only 6 campers left!” Chris excitedly shouted out, which alerted the 14 teens waiting impatiently.
“About time, I’ve been waiting forever.” Angel said with an eye roll.
“Hey, here’s Malorie!” Chris decided to ignore Angel as another girl approached him. She had half black and half yellow hair, with light makeup and a smile. Her black starry shirt was paired with black jeans.
“Hey, y’all!” Malorie waved excitedly.
“Alright, let’s pick up the pace, next we have Oliver!” Chris glossed over her introduction, which Malorie didn’t seem very happy about, but Oliver walked in anyways.
“Hey.” Oliver said with a nod of his head. He was a dark skinned man with black hair and a sweater, along with black pants and a necklace and bead earrings.
Oliver walked over to Malorie, “Need help?” He asked, signaling to carry her luggage.
“Nah, thanks.” She just walked over, with Oliver shrugging and following.
“Following that up, Riley!” Chris made way for the next camper, who walked across the dock indifferently.
“You’re telling me I have to stay here for most of my summer?” Riley asked, his face deadpan.
“Yup!” Chris announced cheerfully.
Riley did nothing but sigh in disbelief, as he walked across the dock with his red and black sweater and black hair flowing in the wind, while his green pants remained still.
“Well… it’s time for Sherry! Yeah..!” It was clear Chris hadn’t gotten used to hosting, because he was already running out of ideas.
“Waited nearly an hour out in that boat just for you to introduce me like that? Absolutely not, I demand a redo.” A pompous voice exclaimed. A dark skinned girl with braided hair walked down and off the boat. She had a pink formal suit on and a white bow tie, clearly trying to make her best impression. She seemed unimpressed by everyone else.
“Did the Queen’s third daughter just arrive or what?” Ethan spat out with a smile. Angel and Mai laughed, with Isaac and Kaylee giving a slight giggle. Sherry grew red at the insult.
“Some people will just never learn manners, it seems.” She said with a vicious shake of her head, to which Caspian nodded in agreement.
“Speak your truth.” Caspian said with an approving nod.
“The final guy of the lot is… Tanner!” Chris announced excitedly, as the end of introductions approached.
A fairly light skinned man walked over to the crowd, with what seemed to be a saxophone case. He had dark and slick back hair, and a light jacket with a red shirt and black pants.
“You play?” Luke eagerly asked.
“Of course I do. I play amazingly.” Tanner replied with a snap to finger gun, and Luke reciprocated the signal.
“In any case, let’s move on.” Chris said, as the last person warily walked over. After seeing the last few introductions, she was determined to make a positive name for herself.
“Hello, I’m Zara.” She said with a polite tone. She wore a thin black overcoat that had beneath it a gray shirt and black leggings. Her brown hair was in a high ponytail.
“Usually I do the introductions, but I won’t complain.” Chris was relieved to finally get all that over with. “First things first,” Chris finally began the actual show part, “We need a group photo for the promos. Everyone, on the end of the dock!”
All the campers decided to line up at the end of the dock, where they got into a picture perfect pose.
“Okay, one, two, three…” Chris said, before interrupting himself, “Oops, wait. Forgot the lens cap. Okay, hold that pose… one… two… oh! No wait, card’s full. Hang on.”
“Jesus, can’t this show get a competent host instead?” Ethan protested.
“Don’t get us in trouble, now…!” Luke replied.
“Got it! Okay, everyone say Wawanakwa!” Chris smiled mischievously as he held out the camera.
“Wawanakwa!” The campers all yelled out.
Chris managed to take the photo, but right after, the dock collapsed due to the combined weight, and everyone ended up in the water.
“Oh, no way! This can’t be happening!” Sherry yelled out.
“I wish I had a warning to at least cover my hair… and clothes…” Brooke wistfully sighed out.
“Alright people, dry off and meet at the campfire pit in ten minutes. Pronto! Chris said to the contestants.
“He can’t be serious with me.” Angel shook out all the water from his hair.
“Gross, dude, don’t do that next to me.” Cedar distastefully said to the black haired boy.
“My bad, man.” Angel chuckled.
All the campers had arrived at the campfire pit, some warmer and happier than others. Chris announced, “This is Camp Wawankawa, your home for the next foreseeable weeks. The campers sitting around you will be your cabin mates, your competition, and maybe even your friends, ya got that?”
At this statement, Caspian eyed Angel, only for him to roll his eyes.
“Got a problem?” Angel growled.
“The camper who manages to stay on Total Drama Island the longest without getting voted off,” Chris continued, “will win $1,000,000!”
“Yeah, not to interrupt but there’s no way I’m sleeping with any guys here. What’s the cabin arrangement like?”, Mai said with a raise of her hand.
“We do have cabins, right?” Zara asked, concerned.
“Of course you do.” Chris responded, “Each of the three teams will receive a cabin. Girls will sleep on one side, and guys will sleep on the other.”
“Sorry, you said three teams?” Daniel confusedly asked.
“I sure did. There will be three teams, each team containing 7 members!” Chris chuckled.
“Uh, not to be the bearer of bad news, but that would mean there have to be 21 of us to have equal teams. There’s only 20.” Malorie stated, to which some people will look shocked by.
“Whoops… math was never really my strong suit, anyways. I’m more of a model, you get me?” Chris scratched the back of his head.
“Wait, so one team will be down a member? No way!” Sherry exclaimed.
“Hey, that’s not fair!” Kaylee angrily told the host.
“Meh, them's the rules. It’ll be fine, trust me.” Chris laughed off all the concerns. “Alright! If I call your name, stand over by the campfire. Daniel!”
Daniel smiled and walked over to the campfire, hopeful that his team isn’t the one with only 6 members.
“Malorie!”
“Alright.” Malorie walked over to Daniel, and exchanged a small high five.
“Caspian.”
“You got it.” Caspian walked over to Malorie and Daniel, and smiled weakly at both of them.
“Angel.” Caspian’s smile dropped as Chris announced the next person.
“I guess I can work with this.” Angel shrugged indifferently, trying to ignore Caspian.
“Ethan.”
“Sure, I guess.” Ethan walked over and gave a fist bump to Angel.
“Sherry.”
“Fine.” Sherry made her way over to her new team. She didn’t approve.
“And finally, Oliver!” Everyone on the first team sighed as it was revealed they had 7 members.
“Sweet.” Oliver grabbed onto the banner thrown over to his team by Chris.
“You guys are now, The Plucking Penguins!”
The banner fell to the floor, revealing a symbol of a… plucking penguin.
“Serious?” Sherry said in a monotone voice.
“Always.” Chris smiled. “Next team members! First, Tanner.”
“Sure, I guess.” Tanner shrugged
“Luke and Kaylee!”
“After you,” Luke said in a chivalrous tone.
“You’re goofy.” Kaylee giggled and went over to Tanner, with Luke behind her.
“Mai.”
“Okay then…” Mai said with a scoff.
“Julienne.”
“I think we’ll get along great.” She smiled at Mai.
“You don’t seem so bad.” Mai shrugged indifferently.
“And Zara!”
“Why did the sound like the end of the list.” Zara nervously asked her team, to which Luke and Kaylee both looked at her nervously.
“Don’t worry. There’s no way the second team announced is the one with the 6 members.” Tanner nervously replied.
“And that’s it! Here’s your team banner, you’re now the Petite Peacocks!” Chris maliciously chuckled.
“There’s absolutely no way he just did this to us.” Luke said in shock.
“It’s time to open your eyes and smell the morning disappointment.” Kaylee said with a sigh.
“That’s right, the Peacocks are the ones with only 6 people!” Chris announced, bringing heavy relief to the remaining 7 campers.
“I’m going to slap this damn host.” Tanner’s eyes closed in anger.
“Moving on…! That means the final 7 will be a part of the last team! That being, Isaac.” Chris began to list out.
“Sweet.” Isaac said to a nearby Alice, who got called next.
“Alice. There’s also Katie.”
“Hey there.” Katie said warmly.
“Riley.”
“I have a good feeling about this.” Riley said to Katie, who nodded eagerly.
“Brooke, and Cedar.”
“Looks like we’re on the same team.” Brooke cheerfully said to Cedar.
“Let’s get along nicely, alright?” Cedar fist bumped Brooke.
“And last, and maybe least, Eliza.”
“Really had to throw some extra shade there, huh Chris?” Eliza said distastefully.
“You know it! Now, catch!” Chris yelled as he threw the final banner. “You guys are now the Floating Flamingos!”
“Not the worst team name I guess.” Eliza said indifferently.
“What’s with the bird theme?” Brooke inquired.
“I just like birds.” Chris shrugged.
“Anyways, campers, you and your team will be on camera in all public areas during this competition. In addition, you will also be able to share your innermost thoughts on tape with video diaries anytime you want. Let the audience at home know what you’re really thinking. Or just get something off your chest, over in the port-a-potty thing.”

Confessional: Daniel
“Why is the confessional the toilet?” Daniel sighed out, sitting in said confessional, “This is disgusting.”
——————————————————————Confessional: Alice
“The people here are kinda rough, but I hope I do alright. It would suck to leave first.” Alice laughed brightly.
——————————————————————
Confessional: Zara
“This is gonna be… tough.”
——————————————————————
“Alright! Time to go to your cabins. They’re spread out to give each team their privacy. Penguins, you’re the northernmost cabin. Peacocks, you’re on the west side, and Flamingos, you’re on the east. The communal bathrooms, confessional, canteen, and kitchen are in the middle area, and the dock is down south. That’s where we came from.” Chris explained.
“Yeah, there’s no way we’re remember all that. Got a map?” Angel asked.
“No, but all throughout the island are big posters that have one of those ‘You are here’, ya get me?” Chris told the campers.
“So… a map?” Caspian deadpanned.
“Guess so.” Chris shrugged. “Campers, go to your cabins and meet me back here when it’s challenge time. You’ve got an hour to unpack.”
“Wait, are there no supervisors or anything?” Sherry asked, stunned.
“Nope. Besides me, the chef, and the production team, you’ll have to be unsupervised. Don’t get too crazy kiddos.” Chris chuckled as he walked away, leaving each team to divide and head to their cabins.
——————————————————————
Confessional: Sherry
“This Chris guy is a total loon! Who knows what could happen out here! I’m so underprepared…”
——————————————————————
The Plucking Penguins were walking along a gravel path, with Angel leading the pack. Ethan was right behind him, and Oliver next to Ethan. Sherry was in the middle, and Caspian, Daniel, and Malorie all hung in the back.
“How do we know this is the right way?” Sherry asked, with concerns rising about getting lost and not finding their cabin in time, “I need at least twenty minutes to unpack.”
“Well, we’re just following the path. It would be kind of stupid to have a path and have it leading to nothing, so it probably goes to our cabin, yeah?” Oliver deduced, earning a nod from Angel.
“Exactly, dude.” Angel confirmed.
“Hey, Angel.” Ethan walked up and right next to Angel, so they walked side by side.
“What’s up?” Angel asked nonchalantly, wanting to know what Ethan needed.
“Why’d you stop me earlier from talking with that Kaylee girl? I could’ve totally taken her down.” Ethan asked with aggression.
“You don’t start fights on day one, man, that’s how you get voted out immediately. Can’t have you losing already, right?” Angel smiled at the shorter teen.
“Ohhh, so you were looking out for me?” Ethan tried to confirm.
“Yeah, man. You gotta make allies to win this game. So, let’s just be allies. Cool?” Angel asked with a raised fist.
“Yeah.” Ethan confirmed his answer by bumping Angel’s fist.
——————————————————————
Confessional: Angel
“This dude Ethan is an absolute moron. But hey, anything for that million dollars, and allies are key.”
——————————————————————
“So, what do you guys think?” Daniel asked peacefully to the two people walking next to him, Caspian and Malorie.
“Well, our team isn’t the worst team from what I saw, so there’s that.” Malorie replied.
“Angel picking up a leading role isn’t giving me great vibes, I will say.” Caspian remarked in a low whisper, trying to avoid it from being heard by the rest of the team.
“Huh? Why’s that?” Malorie asked as she looked over at Angel, who was currently talking to Ethan.
“Don’t know, but I have a…” Caspian suddenly trailed off and stopped walking.
“Caspian?” Daniel stopped walking as he waited for the man to finish his sentence.
“Caspiaaan???” Malorie asked impatiently.
The calling of Caspian’s name caused everyone to turn around.
“Hey? What’s going on? We gotta keep moving.” Angel said with an angry tone.
“We don’t want to be late.” Ethan sighed.
“Hey dimwits, we’re off the trail.” Caspian scoffed, anger evident in his voice.
Everyone suddenly panicked and looked down at the ground, before realizing Caspian was right.
“God damn it! I know I shouldn’t have trusted you and that damn trail!” Sherry exploded in frustration.
“Look! We’ll be fine! Let’s just retrace our steps and find another map. Chris said there’s some all around the island, right?” Oliver logically thought out.
“Sure, fine, let’s just hurry.” Sherry stormed past everyone.
“Jesus, give me a break.” Caspian followed Sherry, and everyone decided to follow after them as well.
“Looks like you may have been right.” Daniel whispered to Caspian, who only nodded in agreement
While the Penguin team was having problems all on their own, the Peacock team was making decent progress.
“Judging by the map we passed by a little while ago, we should be almost there.” Tanner announced to the rest of the group, which caused them all to audibly perk up.
“You wonder how the cabins are?” Luke asked a nearby Kaylee.
“If they’re anything like the rest of this place, I don’t think they will be all that good.” Kaylee truthfully told him.
Meanwhile, the three other girls began another conversation, “So what’s your plan?” Julienne asked Mai and Zara, who walked with her.
“Honestly? Alliances.” Mai said firmly.
“Alliances?” Zara tried to confirm.
“Yes. Banding together to get majority and vote everyone else off. It’s the best way to make it to the top.” Mai reasoned.
“So, do you want to be in an alliance with us?” Julienne asked, hopeful in Mai saying yes.
“…yes. I guess so.” Mai replied after some thinking. “However, three people aren’t going to be enough. 4 is the key to majority.”
“So, who else do you want to include?” Zara asked, thinking it over herself.
“An all girls alliance is most likely to work, since we’ll be sharing a room in the cabin, so it’s best to ask Kaylee. Once we get to the cabin, of course. That’s when we’ll ask and convince her.” Mai reasoned, with Zara and Julienne agreeing.
“Alright. This is gonna be great.” Julienne excitedly chirped out. Mai and Zara smiled.
“Hey! We’re here!” Tanner yelled out for everyone to hear. Everyone on the Peacock team stood in front of the shabby cabin.
“I guess it’s not too bad.” Kaylee said warily.
“At least we’ll have a whole room to ourselves, huh Tanner?” Luke nudged Tanner with his elbow, which Tanner smiled at.
“Maybe I’ll play some songs on my sax for you and give you a one man show.” Tanner jokingly said.
“Whatever, let’s just hurry and unpack so we’re all ready for the challenge. We need to win or we’re gonna be left with only 5 people.” Mai said, passing by the two boys. No one had any arguments, so they all went to do exactly that.
——————————————————————
Confessional: Mai
“This team is gonna need my help if we don’t want to get decimated.”
——————————————————————
The final team, the Flamingos, were nearly reaching their cabin.
“So, do you think you’ll win the prize?” Cedar awkwardly asked Brooke, who looked puzzled for a moment.
“Maybe, but I’m not too sure. In any case, I just don’t want to be last. That would be embarrassing…” Brooke frowned at the thought.
“Haha, yeah… but, I’m sure we’ll both make it far. Let’s manifest it.” Cedar said jokingly to the girl.
“Sure, and let’s get candles too and read each other's palms.” Brooke replied with sheer sarcasm, and they both snickered.
As Brooke and Cedar were joking along, Isaac was thinking to himself.
——————————————————————
Confessional: Isaac
“My plan for this is kind of mean, but it’s pretty much bound to work. I’m gonna make a girl think we’re in a sort of romance together, so she’ll be loyal to me. I mean, I’m a pretty good looking guy. The only problem is I don’t know who to choose…”
—————————————————————
“What do you think?” Alice asked a nearby Isaac, who was walking by himself until Alice approached. “Isn’t it pretty out here?”
——————————————————————
Confessional: Isaac
“I think I’ve figured it out.” Isaac said with a grin.
——————————————————————
“Yeah, of course! Not as pretty as your eyes though.” Isaac told the shorter girl devilishly.
Alice’s face turned red as she was stunned for a bit, “Oh, gosh, well… I don’t know about that…” Alice stumbled over her own words, and eventually stumbled over a twig. She fell to the ground with an “Oof!”
“Sorry, didn’t mean to make you trip. Need help?” Isaac extended his arm to Alice as an offer, and Alice just laughed nervously and grabbed his arm.
“Thanks, you’re so… kind…” Alice said dreamily.
Isaac laughed, “No problem! Just felt bad.”
Eliza watched the two carefully, her thoughts going a million miles a second.
——————————————————————
Confessional: Eliza
“I’ve seen these types of shows before, and if there’s anything I’ve learned, relationships NEVER go well. It either leads to the two of them having an alliance and voting everyone else out, or it leads to them having a nasty break up and ruining the team. And I don’t want either of those on my team. First chance I get, one of them is gonna get cut loose.” Eliza looked right at the camera sternly, but then softened her expression after realizing how mean that sounded. “Trust me! I’m doing them a favor. TV relationships don’t last. I’m gonna need votes against them, though…”
——————————————————————
Eliza’s thoughts were interrupted by a groan, “Are we there yet? This feels like a mile long walk.” Riley complained to the only person paying attention, Katie.
“It’s really only around a half mile walk.” Katie deduced.
“What?! No way!” Riley said in shock.
“She’s right. The maps seemed to say each cabin is around half a mile away from the canteen. It’s only a ten minute walk, though.” Eliza told the pair.
“How do you know that?” Katie asked.
“Because it’s been ten minutes and we’ve just arrived.” Eliza pointed at the cabin.
“Finally!” Riley said in relief, before collapsing on the ground.
“It wasn’t even that long of a walk…” Brooke said in surprise.
“Sorry, dude. Ya gotta get up if we’re gonna unpack before Chris calls us down.” Cedar offered his hand to Riley, which he accepted.
“Let’s get started then, shall we?” Isaac asked rhetorically. The team all nodded their heads and entered the cabin.
While every other team had already started and were finishing unpacking, the Penguin team still had not even found their cabin.
“Ugh! We’re lost!! I can’t believe I let you morons lead!” Caspian yelled out in frustration.
“Us?? Morons??? At least we were actually trying!” Angel aggressively stated.
“Yeah? And where’d that get us?? Look at us now!” Malorie agreed with Caspian.
“Maybe we should just split up then, clearly we’ve already chosen sides!” Ethan argued.
“Absolutely not!” Oliver yelled out.
“Just because you’ve already become a lackey to Angel doesn’t mean anyone has chosen sides!” Sherry pointed at Ethan.
“Enough! In case you haven’t noticed, it’s been 40 minutes. We had an hour! It was supposed to be a ten minute walk at most! How did we miss the cabin???” Daniel yelled over everyone else.
“He said to go north, we went north!” Angel answered.
“He didn’t say to go north, he said it was the northernmost cabin you idiot!” Caspian stated with shock that Angel would get mixed up that badly.
“What’s the difference??” Ethan asked, infuriated.
“The difference is that we didn’t need to go directly north! It could’ve been northeast or northwest!” Malorie gave Ethan the answer.
“Well why would the trail lead to nowhere anyways! It just randomly cuts off!” Angel argued.
“It’s a trail, not a path! This could be someone’s morning nature walk!” Caspian kicked a pinecone in frustration.
“This isn’t helping us! At this rate we’re not gonna be able to find our cabin. Let’s go back to the canteen and just wait for the challenge to start! Once the challenge ends, we’ll just ask Chris for directions, got it?!” Daniel reasoned out.
“Fine.” Everyone agreed at once.
“Ugh, we’re gonna lose…” Sherry sighed. No one paid her any mind and began retracing their steps back to the main area.

Confessional: Oliver
“The team seems pretty tense right now. If we keep this up, we aren’t gonna last.”
——————————————————————
With twenty minutes remaining, the Peacocks had finished everything and were currently waiting on Chris.
“So, Tanner, you really brought a saxophone here?” Luke asked to confirm his suspicions.
“Yeah man. Where I go, my sax goes with me.” Tanner confirmed for the only other person in the room.
“But… why? Aren’t you worried it’ll get ruined out here?” Luke asked incredulously.
“Well yeah, but it’ll be fine.” Tanner reassured the worried teen.
“Alright… here, tell the girls that it’s nearly time to go.” Luke asked Tanner, not wanting to be late to the challenge.
“Sure man.” Tanner left the room and walked across the small patio to the other side of the cabin, but before he could knock, he heard voices.
“So, Kaylee, what’s your plan for winning this game?” Mai asked the other girl with a slight raise of eyebrow.
“Honestly? Not sure. I didn’t even want to be here, but I had nothing better to do.” Kaylee replied to the other girl.
“Well, I have an idea! Let’s all form an alliance together, and we can carry each other until the end!” Zara said cheerfully, acting as if this is a new idea. All the girls looked at each other for a moment.
“I’m down.” Julienne confirmed, nodding her head in agreement.
“Sure, why not?” Mai said to also confirm her agreement.
“Kaylee, what about you?” Zara asked.
“Uh… yeah, sure, it could be fun!” Kaylee said hopefully.
“YEAHH! Girls alliance! We’re gonna dominate this place!” Zara said excitedly.
“We sure are.” Mai said happily.
Having heard all of this, Tanner stumbled back in fear a little. “Uh oh…”
——————————————————————
Confessional: Tanner
“The girls already have an alliance?! Oh god, if we lose me or Luke are total goners! We can’t afford to go to the elimination ceremony now! Gotta win.” Tanner slammed his fist on his palm, determined to not get voted out
——————————————————————
Tanner decided to ignore the problem for now, so he just knocked on the door of the girls cabin. “Hey, we should get going! We don’t want to be late!”
Mai opened the door and raised her eyebrow, but eventually agreed with him and got ready to leave.
“Hey man, you look like you’ve seen a ghost, what happened?” Luke asked when he saw Tanner again.
“I’ll… tell you later. Let’s get going for now.” Tanner told him.
“Alright.” Luke replied, slightly confused but didn’t pay too much mind.
On the Flamingo team, after unpacking all their personal belongings and taking some time to themselves, the team was just about to leave.
“You all set?” Cedar asked Brooke, who had just walked out of the cabin.
“Yep, have you been waiting out here for me?” Brooke asked with a giggle.
“Well, I’m not gonna deny it, butttt I was here first.” Cedar all but confirmed.
Eliza rolled her eyes. She was here first; but she won’t mention that. She did take notice in the amount of pairs forming in their group. The first being Isaac and Alice, who were currently chatting on the steps to the cabin.
“Yeah, but then I totally told her off for it, but she tried to snap back, but I shut that down immediately.” Isaac was recounting to a star struck Alice.
——————————————————————
Confessional: Alice
“Isaac is so amazing! I hope he views me the same way…!” She sighed dreamily.
——————————————————————
“Hey? You still listening?” Isaac snapped his finger in front of Alice to get her attention once more.
“Oh! Sorry, guess I must’ve been daydreaming…” Alice scratched the back of her head.
“Every day’s a dream when I’m with you.” Isaac said cheekily, which caused Alice to blush heavily.
Finally, the third pair walked out. It was Riley and Katie. Riley had already been done for a while now, but he was waiting for Katie.
“He sounded awful, glad you dumped him.” A shocked Katie told Riley, who only nodded in agreement.
“I know right? It only took like a month. Guess I should’ve listened to my friends…” Riley chuckled awkwardly.
“Would’ve saved you a lot of trouble, I bet.” Katie laughed with him.
“Alright everyone, let’s get moving on! We want to get to the challenge on time.” Eliza lead the team back to the canteen, where Chris said they’d meet.
Eventually, all 20 campers met back at the canteen.
Luke took one look at the Penguin team, “Uh… did you guys not find your cabin or something?” The comment made everyone turn to the Penguin team, where they saw that they all still had their luggage.
“As a matter of fact, we didn’t, so mind your own damn business.” Caspian basically spat out in response.
“Oookay then…” Luke said with a disbelieving shake of his head.
“Wow! I’m surprised you all made it back in time!” A cheery voice said to the campers. Chris. “You guys ready for your first, eassyy challenge?”
“It better be easy after the day we’ve been through.” Sherry scoffed.
“Not my fault you didn’t find your cabin.” Chris shrugged. “You can place your bags wherever you want until the challenge is over. In the meantime, follow me!” Chris walked down to an unexplored area of the island. All the campers looked around at each other and hesitantly followed, while the Penguin team just dropped their items next to the canteen.
——————————————————————
Confessional: Malorie
“If we lose, I’m gonna be blaming it on account of me having to carry my backpack for the past hour. There’s some heavy stuff in there.”
——————————————————————
When Chris finally arrived at his destination, all the campers looked around in astonishment. Three large towers painted black, blue, and pink were at several different spots, which created a large triangle shape. Next to each tower was a cannon, and behind each tower and canon was a hedge maze.
“Welcome to your first challenge, campers!” Chris excitedly announced.
“Woah.” Daniel said in amazement as he looked around the area.
“I know, great right? The challenge is called ‘Tower Knockdown!’ It’s real simple. Each team will be assigned a tower; black for penguins, blue for peacocks, and pink for flamingos. Your job is simple; knock down an opposing team's tower! Each team will have to split up to load the cannon, and fire it to an opposing tower. Two people will be sent into the hedge maze, where cannonballs are scattered throughout. Once you retrieve one, the cannonballs need to be taken back to the front. Two people will then load the cannon and aim it, while the final 3, or two if you’re the peacocks,” Chris chuckled at their misfortune. “will be responsible for pulling on the rope which is what makes that baby fly out of the cannon. The harder you pull, the faster and harder the ball will be shot out! The first team to have their tower knocked down will face elimination; while the last team standing will win a reward!” Once Chris finished, Katie immediately raised her hand. Chris sighed in response, “Yes?”
“How do we decide who does what?” Katie asked.
“That’s up to you guys to figure out. I’ll give you a minute to prepare, and then we’ll start.” Chris said with a shrug.
Each team went to their tower, and began trying to figure out who should do what.
“Alright!” Chris looked at all the teams and saw who was doing what, “On the Penguin team, it seems to be Sherry and Oliver going into the maze, while Angel and Ethan load and aim the cannon, and Caspian, Daniel, and Malorie will be pulling the rope.”
Everyone on the Penguin team nodded to each other, confident in their layout.
“On the Peacock team,” Chris continued on, “It is Kaylee and Mai going into the maze, with Julie and Zara loading and aiming the cannon, and Luke and Tanner pulling the rope!”
——————————————————————
Confessional: Luke
“If we want any chance of winning, me and Tanner need to be rope pulling. We're the strongest, so, duh.”
——————————————————————
“Finally, on the flamingo team, it’s Riley and Katie going into the maze, while Isaac and Alice load and aim the cannon, and Eliza, Brooke, and Cedar pulling the rope!” Chris finished. “Campers, you guys ready? Go!” Chris announced.
Sherry and Oliver wasted no time, and went immediately into the maze.
“Let’s go!” Mai shouted out as she too ran into the hedge maze. Kaylee followed her after a bit of thinking.
“I’ll go left, you go right, got it?” Riley asked Katie, who nodded and then bolted into the maze, with Riley following her lead.
“And the campers are off! Who will find a cannonball first and spill blood? Let’s find out!” Chris laughed in excitement.
“I got one!” Riley announced. The Flamingo team yelled out in excitement, as Riley ran out of the maze with a cannonball in hand, “Hurry!”
Riley passed the ball to Isaac, who loaded the cannon while Alice aimed it.
“Where do we hit?!” Alice asked.
“Go for the Penguins! The Peacocks aren’t a threat right now.” Eliza yelled out an answer.
Alice nodded and aimed the cannon. Once the target was set, she yelled out, “Fire!”
Eliza, Cedar, and Brooke reacted immediately and tugged on the rope, hard. The cannon fired and shot out a ball. It hurdled towards the Penguin team.
“Look out!” Daniel yelled as the ball collided with the tower. Pieces of the tower collapsed to the ground, revealing that it was just styrofoam.
“Dammit!” Angel said in anger.
“Nice!” Riley ran back into the maze to look for another ball.
“Got one!” Sherry yelled and ran back to the team. She handed the ball to Angel, who began to load it.
“Guys! Aim for the bottom of the tower, so it’s easier to knock down!” Daniel yelled, earning a nod from Ethan who aimed it at the Flamingo team.
“This is retaliation! Fire!” Ethan yelled out. Caspian, Daniel, and Malorie responded with a hard tug. The cannon fired, and took out a bottom portion of the Flamingo’s tower.
Meanwhile, the Peacock team had apparently been stacking cannonballs. Every time Kaylee or Mai found one, they just left it on the floor in front of the maze.
——————————————————————
Confessional: Mai
“Our strategy was to wait for the other two teams to take each other out and load up on cannon balls. Then, when only one team remained, we’d bombard them.”
—————————————————————
“Hey! Why aren’t the Peacocks firing?!” Caspian asked Angel, who only responded angrily.
“I don’t know?! Maybe they just can’t find a ball, who cares! We gotta focus on the Flamingos!” Angel announced as he loaded another ball.
Ethan aimed it and announced, “Fire!”
The rope team tugged once more, but this time the cannonball missed the tower completely.
“Ha! Take this!” Alice laughed as she aimed another ball, “Fire!”
Eliza, Cedar, and Brooke wasted no time and pulled, landing a direct hit on the Penguins tower.
“Dammit Ethan! The hells the matter with you, can’t you hit the big ass tower?!” Angel asked Ethan.
“It’s harder than it looks!” Ethan defended himself, “Look out!” Ethan announced when he saw another ball came hurdling towards them. Thankfully, that one had missed too.
“Stay focused, Alice!” Eliza ordered the shorter girl, who nodded in confirmation.
“Hey, that’s all the balls! We’ve got about ten in total!” Mai announced to the Peacock team.
“Yeah, I can’t find any.” Kaylee confirmed.
“Alright. Let’s wait now.” Zara told her team, to which they all agreed.
——————————————————————
Confessional: Tanner
“I gotta say, Mai’s strategy is really smart. She’s scary, but as long as we don’t lose for a while, I’m sure it’ll be fine.”
——————————————————————
“I got another ball!” Riley yelled out, running to the cannon.
“Good! I think this last one will topple them over! Hurry!” Eliza yelled out in response.
“Hey! I’ve got another ball! I think this might be the last one we have!” Oliver ran over and handed the ball to Angel.
“Ethan! You can’t let this one miss, we need to hit this or else we lose!” Angel loaded the ball into the cannon.
“Alice! Hurry! They’re gonna shoot at us!” Eliza told Alice, who was trying to aim the cannon.
“It’s ready!”/“Ok, I’ve got it!” Ethan and Alice both said at the same time, “Fire!”
Both the Penguin’s and the Flamingo’s team both shot their cannon at the same time. Everyone waited in anticipation as the balls approached each other, and zipped by. One of the balls missed barely, while the other one had a direct hit. The tower toppled over, and declared a loss for the team. That team was…
“NOOO!” Eliza shrieked as she watched her team’s tower fall to the ground.
“Dammit!” Alice slammed her hand on the cannon in frustration.
“YES! WE DID IT!” Angel and Ethan bumped their chests together in happiness. Everyone in the Penguin team cheered excitedly.
“And the Flamingo team’s tower has fallen! Meaning, I will be seeing them tonight at the elimination ceremony!” Chris announced to everyone.
——————————————————————
Confessional: Alice
“Oh no, this is all my fault! If I had only aimed properly… ugh!”
——————————————————————
Mai chuckled and looked at her team, “Let’s give them hell.” Everyone on the Peacock team grinned as they began quickly firing the balls.
“Uh… guys… we don’t have any more balls, right?” Daniel said, interrupting the Penguin teams cheering.
“Yeah, why?” Angel asked, before he looked up and saw the incredible amount of cannonballs coming their way.
“Oh sh-'' Ethan's sentence remained unfinsihed when the tower got decimated by the cannonballs and collapsed down to the ground.
“And the Peacock team takes it all! Who could’ve seen that coming?! The team with 6 members wins reward and immunity! Penguin team, you’ve got immunity! Flamingo team! I’ll be seeing you guys tonight.” Chris clapped in amazement.
“Aw man…” Riley sighed out in sadness.
——————————————————————
Confessional: Riley
“It’s Eliza’s fault we lost tonight! If she hadn’t told us to target the Penguins instead of the easy targets, we wouldn’t have lost!”
——————————————————————
After the challenge, the Peacock team had been awarded with a pizza party they were currently enjoying at their cabin. The rest of the teams had all gone to the canteen to eat something. Chef, the… chef, has generously served them with… something. Honestly, no one was quite sure what it was, just that it was yellow and mushy.
“There’s no way I’m eating this. After that challenge? All I’m ready to eat is a 3 course meal.” Sherry said with slight anger.
“Yeah, right. As if they’re giving us any of that in this dump.” Caspian said with a sigh.
“Let’s just be glad Chris gave us directions to our cabin. Although, next time, let’s not follow the man not paying attention to his own plan.” Malorie said with disdain.
“Hey, my plan made sense and you know it.” Angel said defensively.
Malorie gave an eye roll. “Whatever.”
“Yeah, no, there’s no way I’m eating this slop.” Sherry got up and dumped her food into the trash.
“You’re gonna be starving, you know.” Oliver told the girl.
She just looked at him in response, as if that wasn’t obvious. “Yeah. Duh.” Sherry said with a sneer and left the canteen “I’ll be at the cabin.”
“I’ll go with her.” Oliver said, as she dumped her food too and left.
“Let’s hope this doesn’t affect us later.” Daniel told the remainder of his team, who all nodded in agreement.
Riley just poked his food with his fork, “It doesn’t even look right. What is this?”
“Who cares about that? How about we decide who we’re gonna vote for.” Katie told him with a sense of urgency.
“The ceremony is only hours away and we have no ideas.” Brooke said with a sigh.
“Well of course we don’t. There’s no way this is gonna work effectively if we all talk about it together. Alice? Wanna come with me back to the cabin. I’m sure we’ll be more productive there.” Isaac extended the offer to Alice.
“Huh? Oh, uhm, yes! Sure!” Alice quickly sputtered out. Isaac and Alice both walked out of the canteen.
“Alright, now that they’re gone,” Eliza said with a hushed whisper after Isaac and Alice left, “Can we agree that one of them needs to go?”
“What? Why?” Katie said, confused.
“They’re way too close. If we let that keep going, they’re gonna be locked in. They basically have an alliance.” Eliza logically told the rest of his team.
“I don’t know…” Riley said with hesitation.
“Well, even then, which one of them? Alice cost us the challenge with her aiming, but Isaac is more of a threat.” Cedar put his thoughts on the table.
“Yeah, but Isaac will be more helpful in challenges. Alice had her chance and she blew it.” Brooke countered.
“Woah, we’re talking like we’ve already decided to vote for one of them.” Katie apprehensively butted in.
“Well, aren’t we?” Eliza replied.
“Yeah, I mean, you got a better idea?” Brooke asked.
“I just… maybe Isaac was right. I think it’s better if we talk separately. Riley, wanna come with me?” Katie asked Riley, who immediately agreed.
“Uh, yeah, I think that’s a good idea.” Riley and Katie both got up and left the canteen.
“Hm… well, no matter. As long as vote together, we can outnumber them.” Eliza told Cedar and Brooke. They both looked at each other, thinking.
——————————————————————
Confessional: Cedar
“Eliza is kind of scary, but… she’s got a point.”
——————————————————————
Riley and Katie had made it back to the cabin, where they interrupted Isaac and Alice who were currently in a conversation.
“Are you sure? I mean, they don’t seem to be that bad.” Alice asked Isaac incredulously.
“Trust me, it’s best to take them out now before it gets too bad.” Isaac told Alice, “Plus, we don’t want any vote threats.” He smiled at her warmly. Alice reciprocated until she noticed Riley and Katie.
“Oh! Geez! Hey guys…!” Alice awkwardly said and stood up, clearly startled.
“Nice seeing you here.” Isaac stood up more casually.
“Hey. What were you guys talking about?” Riley cheerfully asked. Katie was a little more suspicious.
“Yeah…” Katie asked with a raised eyebrow.
Isaac sighed and said wistfully, “Fine… we were thinking of voting Eliza.” Alice looked shocked that he said this, and was confused.
“Bu-“ Alice tried to say, before getting cut off by Isaac.
“It’s ok, Alice.” Isaac said assertively.
“Well, actually, I’m glad you’ve said this, because I really wanted to vote Eliza too. It’s practically her fault we lost the challenge today.” Riley agreed with Isaac.
“Yeah, if we had just gone after the Peacock team, we probably could’ve won.” Katie nodded her head.
Unfortunately things were about to get even more complicated, as Brooke, Cedar, and Eliza had finished their business in the canteen and were just in time to overhear the next sentence.
“So we’re in agreement to vote for Eliza?” Katie asked, waiting for everyone’s confirmation.
“What..!” Eliza whispered, motioning for Brooke and Cedar to stay hidden near a bush.
“What? They’re voting for you?! But we-“ Cedar began, before Brooke interrupted him.
“Shh! We need to hear…”
“Yeah, I’m ready to vote her out.” Riley nodded her head.
“I agree.” Isaac said with no hesitation, “Alice? What do you think?”
“Ahh… uhm… yes, let’s vote for her.” Alice said, which made Isaac smile.
——————————————————————
Confessional: Isaac
“Are me and Alice actually voting for Eliza? No, of course not. I’m gonna have to teach Alice to lie better…”
——————————————————————
Confessional: Alice
“I uh… I don’t know how I feel about lying… but Isaac’s right… if I want to win, this is just what I have to do.”
——————————————————————
Confessional: Eliza
“Unbelievable! They’re gonna vote for me?! Well, two can play at that game! Katie, you’re at the top of my list now!”
——————————————————————
Before anyone had realized, it had become night. The moon had risen above all else, and one team was currently making their way out of the cabin. Lined up in a row, the Flamingo team walked down to the elimination ceremony. Torches were lit on the path there, giving off a small glow. Crickets were scurrying away, and an owl watched the team carefully. Eliza walked in the front, with Cedar behind her. Brooke was behind Cedar, and Isaac was behind Brooke. Alice followed Isaac, and Riley was following her. Finally, Katie was following Riley.
Chris stood behind a podium, where he had a plate of marshmallows. Once the team had all arrived and sat down in front of him, Chris decided to begin.
“Floating Flamingos.” Chris began, “At camp, marshmallows represent a tasty treat that you enjoy roasting by the fire. At this camp, marshmallows represent life.”
Isaac took his time to look around and wink at Alice, which she chuckled at.
“Well, Flamingo Team, it’s a shock to see you. After all, I’m pretty sure everyone thought the Peacock team had the biggest disadvantage.” Chris said, trying to stir up some drama.
“Believe me, it's a shock to us too.” Isaac said with a sigh.
“I think there’s some certain people to blame for our loss…” Riley eyed Eliza.
“Oh, really? Like who?” Chris asked with a mischievous grin.
Riley was about to answer, but was cut off by Eliza, “How about Alice, who aimed the damn cannon?”
“Wait… what?! Me?” Alice asked, shocked.
“Yeah… if it weren’t for Alice having missed, we probably would’ve beat the Penguins.” Brooke nodded in agreement, eliciting a glare from Isaac.
“I believe there are others more at fault than Alice. It was Eliza’s strategy to go for the penguins that cost us the win in the end.” Isaac said with little malicious intent.
“It was a good strategy, and if we would’ve won, we would’ve had a one person advantage over the other two teams.” Eliza defended.
“I mean… yeah. I just think there’s better people to vote for that aren’t Alice.” Isaac said with a straight face.
“Seems like you guys are pretty divided on this.” Chris continued trying to stir up drama.
“Honestly? I blame it on everyone forming pairs like it’s kindergarten.” Eliza rolled her eyes while saying this.
“Forming pairs?” Riley asked, confused.
“Don’t play dumb here. You and Katie, Isaac and Alice, even Cedar and Brooke.” Eliza accused everyone.
Cedar and Brooke looked at each other. Cedar gave Brooke a reassuring grin, but Brooke just shook her head.
“Woah! Aren’t you scared of getting a target on your back, Eliza?” Chris laughed.
“Please, I already know there’s some people planning on voting me. I’m gonna go down swinging.” As Eliza said this, Katie and Riley looked at each other, worried.
“I’ll just say, I agree with Eliza. Pairs forming can be dangerous, and that’s why we must eliminate them.” Isaac said with a smile, which worried Alice.
“Uh… doesn’t that include us, Isaac?” Alice worriedly asked him.
“I guess it does.” Isaac shrugged, “But don’t worry. We’ll stick to our original voting plan.” Alice nodded at this response.
“Speaking of, it is, time to vote.” Chris rubbed his hands together and let everyone know the discussion was over. “Soon, you will all cast your votes and make your decision. When I call your name, please come up and vote in the confessional. You will write down a vote on the parchment, and drop it in the pot. Afterwards, I will count and read the votes out loud. There are only six marshmallows on this plate here, but five of you. The campers who either don’t receive votes or don’t receive the most votes, will earn a marshmallow. The camper who does not receive a marshmallow must immediately walk down the Dock of Shame and board the Boat of Losers. That means you’re out of the contest. And you can’t come back. Ever. Now, time to vote.”
Chris called each and every member up to vote one by one. Eliza, Cedar, Brooke, Isaac, Alice, Riley, and finally, Katie all voted.
“I’ll go count the votes.” Chris said, as he went to do exactly that. He returned with the pot of votes, and smiled before the team. “If anyone has managed to find a statue of invincibility and would like to use it, now would be the time to do so.”
Chris waited a bit, and when he saw no one would get up, he decided to continue. “Alright. The following people received no votes and have earned themselves a marshmallow. Cedar!”
Cedar smiled as he walked over to get his marshmallow.
“Isaac.”
Isaac smiled and went to grab his marshmallow.
“Alice.”
Alice took a sigh of relief as she claimed her marshmallow.
“And finally, Riley.”
“Awesome...” Riley said. The four all sighed happily as they claimed their marshmallows.
“Campers.” Chris said in a more serious tone, “The rest of you each received at least one vote. I’ll read the votes.”
Eliza rolled her eyes, in disbelief people actually voted her.
Brooke looked nervous, but Cedar held up a thumbs up to try to assure her that she was fine.
Katie looked confused as to why anyone would vote for her, and Riley just shrugged.
“First vote…” Chris held up a parchment, and flipped it around, “Brooke.”
Isaac looked at Alice, who only nodded.
“Second vote…” Chris flipped around the parchment. “Eliza.”
“Can’t believe this…” Eliza scoffed.
“Third vote… Katie.”
Katie looked around to see who could’ve possibly voted for her.
“Fourth vote… Brooke.”
Brooke looked even more nervous now.
“Fifth vote… Eliza.”
Eliza raised an eyebrow. Riley smiled.
“Sixth vote… Katie.”
Katie covered her face in shock. Cedar looked guilty.
“That’s two votes Brooke, two votes Eliza, two votes Katie, and one vote left.”
Everyone looked around nervously, wondering who could be going. Chris held up the final piece of parchment and read it, “First person voted out of Total Survivor Drama…”
…
…
…
…
…
Chris flipped the parchment around for all to read, “Katie. That’s three votes, and that’s enough.”
“What?! Why me??” Katie yelled out in shock.
“I heard what you said about voting for me. Can’t say I’m surprised that it came back to bite you.” Eliza shrugged.
“What the hell?? Issac, Alice, you guys didn’t vote for Eliza then?” Riley accused the duo.
Brooke gasped when she put the pieces together, “Wait, if you didn’t vote for Eliza… you mean you voted for me?!”
“I, uh…” Alice scratched the back of her head nervously.
“As fun as this is, Katie. Your time is up, and it’s time for you to go. The loser dock is that-a-way.” Chris announced, cutting the argument.
Katie sighed as she got up and grabbed her belongings.
“Katie… I’m sorry…” Riley said sadly.
“It’s alright. Just watch yourself, this team is full of liars.” Katie placed her hand on Riley’s shoulder supportively, before walking away to go down to the dock, and riding away on the Boat of Losers.
“The rest of you, enjoy your marshmallows. You’re all safe. For tonight.” Chris told the team, before throwing them all marshmallows to eat. The Floating Flamingo’s looked at each other with a variety of expressions. None of them trusted each other.
