Hey y’all, been a while! I’ve been so busy with school that I haven’t been able to post or do any writing as of recent </3 But most of my finals are done for this semester, and by next week I’ll be like 80% free to write however much I want! So be prepared for many posts this summer because I have SO MANY THINGS that are either WIPs or are just in the vault for future posting.
Regarding future fic posts: I won’t lie, I have lost my hyperfixation on tntduo/QSMP/DSMP/MCYT in general as of late. The greatest reason for this is how now both parts of tntduo are problematic. I’ve preached a lot about me separating the characters from the content creators, and understand that I have been doing so for a while. However, because there’s no content being made or anything like that in QSMP anymore (and the remnants of QSMP are from creators I haven’t been interested in watching for a while), and MCYT generally just doesn’t interest me at this point either, I have very mixed feelings about continuing writing things in those fandoms when I no longer have a huge interest in it. This may mean that ‘I need a hero’ will never be finished, as with other unfinished long-form QSMP fics. I don’t want to force myself to write things I’m no longer passionate about because that’s just a recipe for some serious burnout, so that may mean that updates for those will take a lot longer to make & publish, or they may never be completed.
As previously said, I do have things in the vault that are either WIPs that I want to finish, things that were already finished but have yet to be posted or reposted, or things that are almost finished that just need tweaking. I’m going to post those and probably move on to other fandoms, one of the biggest ones being Baldur’s Gate 3/BG3. Because of the topics in BG3, the things that I write themselves may also change (e.g., more mature or even explicit fics because it’s an adult game and like 90% of all fan content on AO3 under the fandom tag is explicit lol). HOWEVER!! This is neither a guarantee that I’ll immediately shift from fluffy MCYT content to NSFW content, nor does it mean that this account will become a mix of primarily teen-rated works and smut. If I DO even dip into that kind of thing, I’ll separate it so that y’all don’t have to see it if you don’t wanna :) This account will still prob become dedicated to PG-13 BG3 silliness and maybe one or two other fandoms though, so look out for that lol.
I cannot fully express how much appreciation I have for the MCYT fandom and its subfandoms and what it’s done for me in the past year or so. I’m so insanely grateful for meeting people online that have become good friends of mine; for that fandom persuading me to pick up formerly lost hobbies and passions; for giving me a place to throw my sappy little romance ideas that people really enjoy; for just. So many things. And I will never forget or fail to acknowledge what this fandom did for me and my social life. I appreciate it so much, and I appreciate the rational remnants of the community to bits and pieces <33333
Maybe I’ll return to MCYT from time to time, but I know for sure that it’s no longer my primary focus for my writing. Just wanted to let you guys know before I do a complete shift in the fandoms I publish in haha. If you don’t want to stick around because I’m switching to different interests, that’s perfectly okay! Do what makes you happy <333 And if you stay, that’s great! I hope that I’ll still be able to give y’all something to enjoy reading, even though it’s about self-inserts and DnD characters being mean to each other and/or falling in love idk (yes BG3 doubles as a DnD game and a romance novel, and oh my god the storylines for each companion make me so insane. I’m begging those who have the financial means to purchase the game to buy and play it; there is a reason why it’s gotten I think at least two Game Awards at this point).
