There are rumors of a man eating Lamia roaming the deepest corners of the Chinju Forest,some people say that they're the size of a house,that they swallow humans whole,and that the demon is ruthless-while others say that it's just rumors;There's no human eating snake demon resting in the forest and that some of the elders just made it up to scare the kids and gullible adults/teens.
But........
There is in fact a Lamia residing there...but not a man eating one,a rather sweet one actually and right now she was resting her head on her arms while relaxing besides a medium sized lake while flicking her black tail lazily in the rippling water,splashing the said water around onto the grass around the pond.
There was a faint rustling sound in the bushes across from her,causing the demon to lift up her head off of her black scaly forearms-could it be Yoimiya? The one who promised to have her try more human snacks the next time she returns to hang out with the Lamia or is it Sayu,The little ninja girl who comes to her just for an uninterrupted nap? or maybe it's just a new person? Not that she minded anyway,the demon wants new friends anyways.
"Yoimiya...or...Sssayu?"
The snake woman calls out in a soft voice as the bubbly pyro technician came into view,holding a orange package that was painted with many rainbow colored Koi fish and also holding the glove covered hand from a....another human? A rather stoic looking woman infact,She looked pretty hot......and interesting!(but mostly pretty though).
Yoimiya
"Hi Aiko! Look I brought the snacks!"
"I sssee! you alssso brought a friend too!!"
"Oh yeah! This is Kurayami Tanaka..one of the smartest detective!!"
Aiko smiled brightly at Yoimiya's enthusiasm and moved up to grab at the silent woman's gloved hands with her own scaly ones as the honey blond watched with happiness at the sight of the two seemingly getting along.
"Hello! Missss Kurayami! My name is Aiko!"
She chuckles silently,rather amused at how eager and excited the Snake demon was,her bright and bubbly demeanor matching perfectly with other pryo user standing right to her,watching this new encounter with the paper wrapped package filled with sweets under her tattooed arm.
Kurayami
"Hello..."
It was silent for a while,Aiko just admiring the new human as Kurayami was just gazing at her before Yoimiya cleared her throat,probably because she was tired of third wheeling or something like that.
Yoimiya
"Well! Ai-kun you should try the snacks I got you!"
"Okiii!!."
They all sit down near the rippling pond caused by Aiko's flicking serpentine tail,Yoimiya hands the snake woman the painted package;Aiko opened it,perking up at the sight of the sweets,the present was filled with different flavors of mochi,along with senbei,dagashi,Kaki no Tane,Okaki.
"Wowww!"

"Hehh I went a bit overboard."
Kurayami
"A bit huh?"
Yoimiya
"Yeah.."
"Do y'all want to try sssome of thessse with me?"
Yoimiya
"Sure!"
Kurayami
"Mhm."
Aiko picked one of the snacks first,a orange flavoured mochi,unwrapping the said sweet and taking a bite of it,dark teal eyes widening in happiness while her black scaly hand is placed on her rose colored lips as she chews on the candy. "Wow...! It'ss deliciousss!" The snake woman finishes the mochi quickly before reaching for another one,lemon flavored this time as Yoimiya giggles in amusement while she takes a dagashi;sinking her teeth into the treat after unwrapping it and placing the wrapper into the box that the treats were in.
"Mhm!" The blond hums as her already joyful expression turns into an even more elated one while she basically devours the dagashi she was holding in her hand.Kurayami watches them eat the sweet treats quietly before deciding to eat one of the senbei crackers, nibbling on it slowly.
They continue eating the snacks while talking,not too much though-leaving quite a few of the sweets for Yoimiya and possibly Kurayami to return with the next time they decide to hangout again..

A few weeks later,Aiko is finishing up cleaning her rather pleasant looking house right in front of the pond before she gets a knock on the wooden door.sliding it open reveals Kurayami standing on the wooden veranda,who had a rare soft smile on her pretty porcelain face.
"Ah! It'sss you Lady Tanaka!"
The pale blond shakes her gloved hand dismissively,chuckling quietly.Aiko noticed Kurayami has been smiling around her more often, how odd nice.
"No need for formalities,since we're friends now...just call me Kurayami."
"Ok...Yami!!"
'Yami' huffed out in amusement, opening up her plum colored uchiwa and moving it to cover her flushed face so that Aiko didn't see it.(The violet haired woman did in fact notice it but decided to not mention it out of fear that she would run away from embarrassment.)
"Come in! I've jusst finisshed cleaning up."
"Ahh thank you,Aiko."
They walk in to the house,Kurayami closing the door behind her and afterwards the detective sat in a seiza postion down on the tatami mat just as the snake demon placed down a tea pot and two yunomi's on the chabudai before sitting down the mat herself,moving her body around to get used to having human legs as she's not usually in this form,her tail curling up against her thighs as she gently picks up the kettle and sats pouring green tea into the pale blond's cup.
"Thank you dear."
Kurayami says in a voice softened with affection before softly blowing on her tea then drinking it slowly as Aiko pauses with faintly flushed cheeks bareldy visible on her brown,freckled skin while she places down the pastel blue kettle that matched with her yunomi's.
"D-Dear?" The ultramarine haired girl stammers out.
"...is that making you uncomfortable? I could stop calling you that if you want."
The snake woman shook her head quickly.
"N-no! I-I'm jusst not usssed to it..."
"Ah..okay!"
Aiko sighs quietly,clutching at her kimono that helped conceal her rapidly beating heart,She wasn't used to having any other human emotions besides elation and calmness,so what's this feeling? The strange fluttering sensation in her stomach from the past few weeks whenever Kurayami complimented her or held her scaly hands in the detective's own gloved ones as they ventured into more unknown parts of the Chinju Forest with Yoimiya was so weird and new,the violet haired woman wanted to ask someone-but not Kurayami...of course.
"Aiko?"
The same serene voice she was so very fond of brought her out of her confusing and twisting thoughts,glancing up at the said detective reveals her concerned gaze for the snake demon,She had befriended.
"Y-yesss?!"
"Are you okay,you've been staring into space for a while?"
"N-n-no,I'm good!"
"Are you sure?"
"Mhm!"
"Ok..."
Aiko chuckles nervously and picks up her surprisingly still hot green tea and taking a sip,placing it down after it's completely empty,looking up at the pale blond;noticing Kurayami's piercing gaze on the window sitting near the door, staring outside at the moon before glancing at her solar watch.
"It's almost midnight,I must go."
"Okay!"
"Bye."
"Bye,Bye."
The detective leaves,sliding the door close after she's out the door,leaving Aiko in her self debates.The snake demon pulls out the futon that Sayu usually used-now demons didn't need to sleep but she believes she need to shut out the confusing thoughts and at least bury them down so that she's not overthinking.

A Month passed by until Aiko finally decided to ask Yoimiya what this fluttering feeling in her stomach is that only appeared happen around Kurayami was,seeking the answer while the two are making flower crowns for each other and talking about random things(but not telling the pryo user who it was though).
"That's love silly!"
"....Love?"
The honey blond giggles and nods
"Yea!"
The ultramarine haired woman tilts her head in confusion,staying quiet for a while as she thought about the new word she just learned,to deep in thought to not notice the pryo technician fiddling around with the golden ring that was connected to a chain that ends with another ring near the hole in her double slited dress that was for her tail till Yoimiya accidentally pinches the tip of her serpentine tail,causing the demon to quickly snap out of her thoughts and whips her head to face the other pryo user,who was rubbing the back of her head while chuckling nervously.

"Hehh sorry Ai-kun."
"It'sss fine."
The snake woman waves her ebony scaly hands in quick dismissal of the apology as she adjusts herself to sit in a more comfortable seiza position,one she's most used to when she's in her human form.They sit in silence for a while before Aiko speaks up.
"Do...you love sssomeone?"
"Of course! I love you,Kura,My father and many more!"
"Your...father?!"
"No! Not like that! It's more of a platonic love!"
"Oh! Sssorry."
"No it's good!"
Yoimiya picked up a Ulex to weave it into her own crown as Aiko gently picks up a hydrangea and slowly ties it into her flower crown,The two repeating this step for a while before the honey blond asks the demon a question.
"Soo,who do you have a crush on?"
"Wha?!"
The snake demon's cheeks flush and she accidentally crushes a wisteria flower she was pulling out to weave into the flower crown she was making for the pryo technician.
"Who do you have a crush on?"
"I-uhm...kurayami."
"Huh? I can't here youuu"
"Ku-Kurayami!"
The honey blond gasped dramatically,dropping her partially made flower crown,which gently fell onto the soft green grass-causing the violet haired girl's elfish ear to flush a pink hue at Yoimiya's overdramatic reaction.
"Kura!?"
"Ssshhh!"
Aiko waves her hands in embarrassment,her own floral crown now placed in her lap as she shushes Yoimiya by drowning out her surprised sounds by making long 'shhh' noises as if she's worried Kurayami will somehow hear them while she's in the middle of working on a detective case.
"I knew it!"
The honey blond exclaims while clapping her hands together,seemingly forgetting about her flower crown as she happily asks questions about everything,like: "how are you going to confess." Or "when are you going to confess?!" Before Yoimiya remembered about her floral crown and returns to making it while dropping the topic but Aiko keeps thinking about the questions.
.... Maybe she should confess to Kurayami.

"Kurayami?"
"Hmm?"
They were laying next to each other on the roof of Aiko's house,gazing up at the star filled sky while talking with eachother about random things.
"......uhm-d-don't those ssstarss l-look like a heart?"
Kurayami narrowed her neon pink eyes at the cluster of stars that did indeed take the shape of a heart,however she had a lingering feeling that Aiko didn't say what she originally wanted to say and decides to speak up to get her to say what she wanted to in the beginning.
"I can tell you're not telling me something."
"..."
"Tell me."
"It'sss..Ssstupid..."
The pale blond slowly sits up,turns over to face the other and rather harshly pinches at the snake demon's cheek,causing her to let out a faint yelp;gently rubbing her cheek that was a soft red hue from the aggressive pinch.
"Owie.."
"Hmph."
The two lay next to each other in a extremely uncomfortable silence for a while,just watching the stars disappear and reappear in many different constellations in a constant repeating cycle.
"Yami?"
"Yeah?"
"What if I sssaid I love you."
"........."
"Kura?"
"Love is for brainless idiots Aiko-chan."
"Ohh."
"But...would you like to be brainless idiots together? If you want to of course."
Aiko's dark teal eyes widen in surprise and joy before she stifles a chuckle with her scaly hand,causing Kurayami to smile softly as the snake demon bursts into a fit of soft giggles.
"Wahaha!"
"That'ss ssso cheessssy Kura-kun!"
"Only for you,love."
They sit in together in a more comfortable tranquility before the snake demon says whispered something in embarrassment,but the cryo user caught every word.
"Sssoo do you want to..."
"Kiss?"
"Yesss..."
"Sure."
The pryo user wips crystal-clear tears from the corner's of her eyes that were caused by her laughter and sits up,turning to the rather stoic detective before leaning over in an attempt to make out with the pale blond,who gets it immediately and brushes the other's curly purple hair away from Aiko's face,gently her red lips pressed against the demon's own soft pink one's.The kiss was messy as the two never kissed anyone before.
Aiko nervously prods her long pointed in Kurayami's mouth and in response the detective eagerly sucks on the wet muscle,lips smacking against each other,before they pull apart;saliva connected their messy lips to each other's.
"Haah.."
"Wasss that good?"
"Yeah,you did good for your first time."
The pale blond pulls the demon into her lap and kisses her cheek,causing the snake woman to giggle softly.
"Wahh! Yami,I love you sssoo much!"
".....I love you too."
