Chapter 1: Stranger harassment

Chapter Text

     Tick, Tick, Tick….

The annoying noises the clock made, and the only ones luckily.

Null looked up from her desk and to the clock, It read “1:48 P.M.” Could the time go by any slower? She thought, she tapped the pencil in her hand on the desk. There was a work sheet in-front of her though it wasn’t like she was going to even do it anyways, she let it sit there without laying a single pencil stroke on it as she continued to stare blankly at the clock on the wall next to her.

Next to the clock there was a poster that read “WORK!!! Your life depends on it!” Which she kept reading—this class was really boring and she needed a way to escape it, there wasn’t really much to distract herself with either asides from doodling, (which she was not up to right now, not to work her wrist overtime.) keep reading what the poster next to her said over and over until she became crazed, or stare at the clock for a good couple minutes until it was time to go.

She decided on the clock option, as she wasn’t up to becoming anymore crazed.

     Tick, Tick, Tick, Tick……

She saw the time change; from 1:49 to 1:50, finally. It was almost time to leave her boring school, only ten more minutes to endure! Hooray! She continued to not do anything but hopefully looking at the clock tick each second. She is NOT doing any work today, she’ll probably get away with it anyways so it doesn’t matter.

    …

    RING!!!!!!

The bell had finally rung, everyone left in a jiffy, I mean who likes skool? Null packed up and left the work sheet she was supposed to do on the table, not filled in or anything. She made her way past all of the students leaving all at once and started her path home—or so you’d think.

She walked along the pavement, looking straight ahead, she was heading-

     “HEY!!”

There was a voice that came from behind, though Null couldn’t be bothered and ignored them. And she continued to do so until the person walked in-front of her so she couldn’t walk ahead.

“I’m talking to you! God why are you girlllssss so pissyyyyy?” He said, it was a boy from her school. Now, what the fuck was this guy doing all the way here? That’s stalker behavior! Weirdo. Null look the boy straight in his eyes.

“If you were stalking me maybe then don’t directly come up to me, hide yourself at least, geez.” She remarked, the boy’s eye started to twitch. “IM NOT STALKING YOU! I just wanted to say……” He paused, taking a big gulp before continuing himself. “Be my girlfriend! This isn’t a choice, all of my friends have one and they keep making fun of me and it’s pissing me off.”

“No, bye.” She said, pushing the boy aside to make way for herself to get through as his jaw hit the ground. “N-no?! What do you mean no? I said you didn’t have a ch-“ Null turned around and pressed her finger on the boys lips and shushed him. “Shhhh…..it’s okk….I get that you’re a desperate boy……get rejected.” She interrupted him before wiping her finger on her clothes and walking away, the boy was about to chase after her before rethinking his life choices and then ran away.

Well that was interesting, she thought, she shrugged it off before walking over to a gas station nearby. She opened the door and the bell jingled, she saw the cashier resting their head on the counter. She then took a bag of chips and then a soda, she walked back to the counter and placed the items on the counter.

“I’d like to buy these things, chop chop I haven’t a second to waste.” She said as she clapped her hands to wake up the cashier, they looked up to the kid and rolled their eyes before scanning the items. “Your total is-“ Null interrupted, again. “I know cashier boy, I come here and buy the exact same thing once a week.” She then dumped the money onto the counter and the cashier groaned. “Yeah and you’re a real pain in the ass everytimeeee…” They complained.

“Would you like a bag, miss?” The poor cashier asked, “GIVE ME A BAG IT MAKES ME FEEL BETTER THEN EVERYONE ELSE, and also, screw the planet I’ll use plastic as much as I want and people better not complain when I use the superior plastic straws then those….ugh….paper straws that are better supposedly—“ She said as the cashier took a bag and placed the items inside and handed the girl her items. “Please don’t come back.”

They said before slamming their head back onto the counter, she smiled and marched out of the gas station. She then made her way back to her house, her parents probably weren’t there so it wouldn’t matter if she was home later then she’d come back most times—but it’s not like they would notice if they were there. Once home, she kicked the door open and walked into the kitchen to place her goods on the kitchen counter, her parents weren’t home. Meh. She didn’t care. More freedom anyways.

She sat down on the couch and started to watch what was on the television, not like she was bored or anything. That was a lie, she was bored. She wasted away on the couch as she watched day go to night. Though she stayed up, as long as she could.

     …

She fell asleep at 12:08 P.M.
