Mother’s Day hurts. You would think Thanksgiving or Christmas would be the worst, but I have lots to be thankful for and whether we’re all together at once or people come and go, Christmas is so full of life it’s hard to be sad.
But Mother’s Day’s the worst. Mom is gone. That first Mother’s Day without her I lost Buffy, too. Then Willow and Tara became like my moms for a bit. Another Mother’s Day, and I lost Tara and almost lost Buffy and Willow.
I have roses for Mom’s grave and irises for Tara’s.
Mother’s Day only hurts.
