Work Text:

The sound of a car pulling into the garage startled Kate awake—half conscious that she was lying on the sofa waiting for Anthony.

While staring blankly at her surroundings, Kate rubbed her eyes, grounding herself before a click on her door caught her attention.

Anthony opened the door with a loud huff and was startled at the sight of her

"Kate?" He half smiled at the sight of her. His suit is in his arm, and a few buttons open on his shirt; nothing is unusual, but she just misses him.

He's been going home late for the past week now. Oftentimes, she would sleep on a cold bed beside her and wake up in the middle of the night to find her spooning her morning post-it saying, 'Don't forget lunch x!' or 'gonna be home late, miss u.'

It's quite understandable, considering he is now trying to close a deal with a client from a different time zone. But tonight, she grows tired of the ache of not seeing him in their home, not being able to spend time and talk about each other's days.

"Hey, You," Kate replied. She stood from the sofa and saw him throwing his stuff to the floor and half running, hugging her.

She put her arms around his neck, kissed his head, and heard a sound of relief from him.

"How are you?" Kate asked softly.

"Much better now that we have finalized the project and that you're here."

"Oh, so you're saying there's no more late nights again?"

"No more late nights." He looked up to and tucked the strays of hers behind and gave her a kiss—soft taste of coffee lingers in his mouth as she moves up her hand to scratch his head and his hands on her waist, slowly leading them to the back of the sofa.

They broke apart from each other and desperately gasped for air. They stared at each other; his dark bangs and red eyes were now visible, and she could even count his freckles from this view.

Kate kisses his temple as she reaches for his left hand, dragging him along to their bedroom.

Kate closes the door before facing him behind her. She's still a vision, especially late nights. Her curls are loosely braided, with a strap top and cotton shorts highlighting her impossibly long legs.

He steps backward for a second to admire the view in front of him, to admire her.

Gosh, when did he get so lucky to come home in her presence?

"You're staring." Kate chuckled

"My wife is impossibly attractive tonight," His hands roamed and brushed her thigh slowly before reaching her breasts. Cupping and slowly teasing them with his thumb.

He took a few steps forward and trailed his kisses whilst Kate wrapped her arms around his neck and let out a soft moan. He trails his kisses from her collarbone and progresses up to the edge of her lips—

She covered his mouth with his thumb before interrupting his motion, "You need sleep, Anthony." She winces and moves them to their bed.

"I need you more." Anthony pulled her towards him and kissed her. Desperate for lips and the taste of her in his mouth. She let out a whimper as he moved her down to the bed.

"Anthony."

He drops his body on her with a sigh of relief and his arm on the side of her body. It has been a hell of a week and he just misses her so much.

"This week has been hard for you isn't it?" She scratches his scalp with both hands, letting her thumb trail his eyebrows and the creases between them.

"Yes... I'm sorry for being distanced from you the past week, especially with the upcoming gala we're gonna have and with the late night meetings which took most of my time with you and—"

"Hey, Hey. It's Ok... Breath." She moves her body up and now leaning on the headboard.

They stayed there for a moment—with him between her, a comfortable silence filling the air. Before he's the first one to break them, "You're my favorite pillow."

Kate lets out a laugh close to his ears, followed by his light chuckle.

"Get comfortable then." She murmurs in response.

He feels at home.

Notes:

We're seeing them in less than 4 days! My brain rot is getting worse... so I wrote this silly drabble. Don't take this seriously and have a nice day folks x.
