Notes:

By popular demand, more Joost fluff :)
I really didn't expect anyone to read the fic I posted last night, but I'm glad people enjoyed it! Enjoy :)

(P.S., I made a fandom side blog on Tumblr - feel free to follow me for my silly Joost posts! The user is pinkribbcns.)

Chapter Text

It had been an eventful night so far, and you were rather tired - but what did you expect? You were representing your country for Eurovision after all. Your performance had gone incredibly, and you'd secured second place - but the overall winner was the Netherlands. It was a close call, but you really liked Joost and were happy for him. He had put on a great show, after all. As the results were read out, you cheered for him as he and his team celebrated, laughing and clapping. It was time for him to go back out to the stage - you had planned to accompany him on the walk from the green room to the stage, but you got totally caught up in being recorded and interviewed. You suddenly realized what had happened - shit! You completely forgot to congratulate him.

You jumped up, hurrying through the labyrinth that led down to the stage when you spotted him. Joost. You couldn't deny that he was attractive, and throughout the evening you could have sworn he was stealing glances at you with those angelic blue eyes.
‘Joost!’ You called out from behind him, hurrying down some stairs. He turned around, and his face lit up.
‘Y/N! Hey.’ He beamed at you, excited but clearly quite nervous. He had always looked at you with a strange expression - you could never tell what he was thinking. But you couldn't deny that there was a glimmer of something that could only be described as adoration in his eyes.
‘Hey, congrats! You did great, really. Sorry, I got totally caught up…’ You trailed off as he unexpectedly stepped forwards towards you, taking you softly by the arms and standing very close to you.
'It’s okay.’ His voice was soft, his subtle accent making you smile. It was as if all the cameras weren't there. ‘Hey. Give me a kiss for good luck?’
You laughed, smiling, and kissed him lightly on the cheek. You weren't sure what he wanted. Would it be inappropriate to give him a proper kiss on the lips? You pulled away, but before you even had time to think about the answer of that question, he was looking down at you with those soft, sweet eyes.
