Gale could feel his eye twitch, something that wasn’t quite surprising given the current situation.
The two had been separated from Renance and Shadowheart, stuck somewhere underground within the Shadowlands, which proved to be quite a perilous area.
While he wasn’t typically one to fuss over such a predicament, his beloved was… remarkably amazing at tap dancing on his last nerve about it.
While he was busy looking for a way out of the cave they were stuck in, Alyiira was busy playing her violin, seemingly resigned to never getting out.
“Mind putting that away and helping?” he asked, trying to keep the irritation out of his voice.
In response, he heard more sad notes and a sigh. “I’ve looked everywhere, I don’t see anything.” Alyiira pouted before continuing to draw her bow across the instruments strings.
Internally, Gale fumed. “Perhaps if you put more focus on looking rather than playing, you would see something.”
At this, Alyiira struck a sharp note, before moving her violin down. “I already said I looked and couldn’t see anything.” Her voice was just as sharp as the note had been. “Besides, is it so terrible to spend time with me?”
At this, Gale scoffed, turning away from the wall to look at Alyiira. “You know that is not what I meant.”
“Well, it sure sounds like it.” The Drows voice had gone cold. She was upset, but so was he.
“Really? You want to do this now? Of all times?” He asked, bewilderment and annoyance now completely out in the open.
To this, she shrugged, finally putting her violin away. “Might as well.”
Gale scoffed, placing one hand on his hip while the other wagged a finger at Alyiira. “I cannot believe you right now! This is just being lazy and rude, Alyiira – You know very well that I love spending time with you, when we are not TRAPPED!”
Alyiira threw her hands into the air, “Oh! I’m so sorry that I got us stuck with the hope that we could spend some quality time together!”
At this, he froze, feeling a throbbing in his head, tell-tale of a headache forming. “You... you got us stuck? On purpose!?”
Alyiira’s eyes widened, and she pursed her lips, seemingly catching herself revealing something she hadn’t meant to. She looked away, cheeks flushing with shame.
At that moment, rocks crumbled to reveal a heaving Renance, holding his Warhammer. He stood up straight, nodding his head towards the two. “Good. You’re both still alive.”
“I was worried you two would be in unsavory conditions.” Shadowheart piped up, leaning to the side from behind Renance.
After a beat of silence, Gale sighed. “We’re fine.” He answered, making his way towards the two.
Alyiira stayed behind.
