Drabble: The School Dance
It was the annual Cornbury Middle School Dance, and Shope was confident: this is the last one before the noobs head to high school, and it was about dang time she got bold and asked Amy to dance with her. Shope breathed in, focused, and calmly walked towards Amy. "Um... Amy? ..." Shope anxiously asked. (DANG IT SHOPE DON'T LET THE ANXIETY GET TO YOU-) "Yeah, babe?" Amy replied. Shope's face turned a bright shade of red. (BABE SHE LITERALLY CALLED ME BABE OH MY GOD-) "May I have this dance?" Shope bravely asked. Amy only said one word, "Absolutely!", and that was all Shope needed to know. Just when they began to dance, "Shape of You" by Ed Sheeran had begun to play. Shope took this as an opportunity, and lead Amy in a slow dance, singing the lyrics to the song with the confidence she had when she fights the virus. "I'm in love with the shape of you..." Shope sang along, "We push and pull like a magnet do... and though my heart is falling too, I'm in love with your body... and last night you were in my room..." "And now my bedsheets smell like you, everyday discovering something brand new... I'm in love with your body..." Amy interjected. And once the song finished, Shope finally did it: She kissed Amy, much to Kevin's, who was watching the whole time, absolute approval. Soon afterwards the School Dance ended, and Shope and Amy were in a deep embrace the whole time after their slow dance together.
