Work Text:

Chixia and Yangyang sat in the corner of a bustling teahouse, their eyes glued to the Rover and Jiyan across the room.  The two men were deep in conversation, their laughter echoing through the quiet establishment.

"I can't believe we managed to get them together," Chixia whispered excitedly, her eyes sparkling with joy.

Yangyang smiled back at her friend.  "It was all part of our plan."

The two girls had been scheming for weeks, ever since they noticed the growing relationship between the Rover and Jiyan.  They knew that there was something special between them, and they wanted to help bring it to light.

"Looks like our plan is working," she said with a grin, nudging Yangyang in agreement.

Yangyang laughed along with her friend.

As if sensing their gaze upon him, Jiyan looked up from his conversation wit h the Rover and caught their eyes across the room.  He blushed slightly before turning back to his partner, but Chixia could see the smile playing at the corners of his lips.

The Rover and Jiyan left the teahouse, their laughter still echoing in their ears.  The two women watched them go, their hearts filled with joy at the sight of their friends together.

They continued walking down the street, their hands entwined as they explored this newfound connection between them.  As they passed by the outskirts, they saw Chixia and Yangyang sitting, watching them with wide grins on their faces.

Jiyan felt his heart swell with affection for his friends as well as for the Rover beside him.  He knew that they would always be there for him, no matter what happened between them.

As they approached where Chixia and Yangyang were sitting, Jiyan could see that they had brought along a picnic basket and some blankets.  The sight of the spread before them took him by surprise; it was clear that his friends had been planning this outing for some time now, and Jiyan couldn't help but feel touched by their thoughtfulness.

"What's all this?"  He asked as they approached, his eyes widening in surprise.

Chixia grinned widely at him.  "We thought you two could use some time together," she explained cheerfully.  "So we set up a little picnic for you."

Jiyan looked over at the Rover, who was blushing furiously at the sight of their friends' gesture of goodwill towards them both.  As he and the Rover sat down on the blankets, Chixia and Yangyang unpacked the picnic basket, revealing a feast of fresh fruits, sweet dumplings, and wine. They poured two cups of rice wine for their friends and handed them over with a smile.

"To new beginnings," Chixia said, raising her cup.

Jiyan and the Rover clinked their cups together before taking a sip of the sweet rice wine.  As they ate and drank, they found themselves opening up to each other more than they ever had before.  They talked about their pasts, their fears, and their hopes for the future, their bond growing stronger with each passing moment.  Chixia and Yangyang sat nearby, watching their friends with warmth and affection, happy to see them connecting in such a meaningful way.  The sun began to set, casting a golden glow over them.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting long shadows across the outskirts, Jiyan and the Rover found themselves lost in each other's eyes.  The warmth of the day had given way to a gentle chill in the air, but they barely noticed as they continued to talk and laugh together.

Chixia and Yangyang watched them from a distance, their hearts filled with joy at the sight of their friends finding solace in each other.  They knew that this was something special.

As they finished their meal and packed up the picnic basket, Jiyan and the Rover stood up and stretched, feeling a sense of contentment wash over them.  They looked at each other for a moment before Jiyan reached out to take the Rover's hand once more.

"Thank you," he said softly, his voice filled with gratitude.  "Thank you for being here with me."

The Rover smiled back at him, his eyes filled with love and affection.  "I'm glad I could be here," he replied.  "I don't know where I would be without you."

They walked hand in hand through Jinzhou as night began to fall, their footsteps echoing softly on the paved pathways.  The city lights twinkled in the distance, casting a warm glow over everything around them.

As they approached Chixia and Yangyang, who were yet again spying on the two, Jiyan could see that they were deep in conversation once more.  He smiled at them as he passed by, feeling a sense of camaraderie with his friends that he had never experienced before.

"Goodnight," he called out as they walked past.  "Thank you for everything."

Chixia and Yangyang waved back at him, their faces alight with happiness as they watched their friends disappear into the night.  They knew that this was just the beginning of a beautiful journey for Jiyan and the Rover, one that would be filled with love, laughter, and adventure. And they were honored to be a part of it all.
