Work Header

You're annoying, but I love you.

Summary:

“Come closer, you’re too far away.”

“But I’m pushed up against you?”

“That’s still too far away.”

“I see,” Pip answered, making the decision he would have to nestle in closer to Damien’s embrace, wondering how one person could be this warm.

In other words, a drabble I somehow decided was a good idea to make about two boys cuddling. I don't think I'm qualified to write fluff.

Work Text:

“Pip, please shut the fuck up.” Damien answered to Pip’s endless stream of words, pulling him closer.

“Well, alright then.”

“Mm . . . you smell different, by the way.”

“Thank you? I think, I’m not sure if that’s a compliment or not.”

“It’s not,” Damien mumbled. “I liked your old scent better.”

“Ah.” Pip shifted in Damien’s arms, trying to get more comfortable. “Well, I can go back to that one if you’d like?”

“Mkay.”

It was nice, just lying like this, Pip thought. He hadn’t been able to be held like this in a while– not since his mother had died.

And Damien was so warm, he was sure he could wait a few more minutes before actually studying.

“Stop fidgeting around, it’s annoying,” Damien murmured, gently playing with Pip’s hair.

“Sorry. . .”

“Whatever.”

Even if Damien was sometimes a little bit of an asshole, Pip still loved him. And besides, he knew Damien would never intentionally hurt him. And just saying he was annoying for fidgeting around wasn’t a big deal, he was just expressing his feelings. Other people had said much worse.

“Come closer, you’re too far away.”

“But I’m pushed up against you?”

“That’s still too far away.”

“I see,” Pip answered, making the decision he would have to nestle in closer to Damien’s embrace, wondering how one person could be this warm.

Oh, well, he is the literal prince of hell. Maybe that had something to do with it?

“Damien?”

“Hmm?”

“Are you so hot because you’re the prince of hell?”

Damien paused. “...Do you mean that literally or figuratively?”

Pip froze, realizing the implications of what he just meant. “I, oh, um–” Gathering his words, he finally could make a coherent sentence. “Well, I did mean literally. But I guess figuratively works too?”

Damien chuckled,  “Maybe? I don’t really know.”

“Is your dad hot?”

“Seriously, do you mean that literally or figuratively?”

“...”

“Oh god, don’t tell me you think my father is an attractive man,” Damien deadpanned.

“But! Look at his chest! How can he not be?”

Damien put his hand over Pip’s mouth, silently begging for him to be quiet so they could just enjoy the moment. He wrapped his arms tighter around him, wanting to feel his warmth. Even if Pip said he was cold, he was anything but.

“Mmf–”

“Shut up.”

And so Pip gave up, resigning quietly. Well, at least Damien felt nice.
