Work Text:
“Belos said you could come back,” Aziraphale stated. “You could join me in the emperor's coven, it would be like old times. You and me.”
“Oh come on, you don't need them” Crowley hissed back, “and I certainly don't need them. We're better than that. They're toxic.”
“The coven, it's the side of truth, the side of light, of good” Aziraphale tried to explain.
“And when Belos ends Wild Magic on the Boiling Isles? Tell me you said no” Crowley begged. “Tell me you said no.” Aziraphale had a look of disdain as Crowley continued “we can go off together, just you and me.”
“If I'm in the Emperor's Coven, I can make a Difference” He argued. “Come with me, join the emperor's coven. We can make a difference”
“Please you can't leave this book shop”
“Oh Crowley nothing lasts forever.”
“No.. no I suppose it doesn't… Good luck.”
“Come with me” Aziraphale pleaded, “work with me, we can be together in the coven, doing good, I need you.” He paused, “I don't think you understand what Belos is offering you.”
“I understand,” Crowley Replied, “I think I understand a whole lot better than you do.”
“Well then, there's nothing more to say” Aziraphale gave up.
“You idiot, we could have been an us” Crowley stated.
Aziraphale walked out of what was once his bookshop, joining the emperor's coven and leaving this life behind. Crowley was all alone. The only thing he knew he could trust was gone and to the system that had betrayed him above all.
