Leo Valdez had not expected this to happen, he had an idea for a machine but he wanted to test it first. The machine was planned to run on steam and he knew that testing evaporation on one of the lakes near Camp Half-Blood would be a good choice so here he was sitting on the edge of a pier into the Canoe lake Percy around.
So far it hadn’t been successful and Leo was getting annoyed, he should have brang Percy or at least an older Hephaestus kid to help. Since he was so focused he didn’t notice the demigod walking up behind him.
Piper had warned him of an Aphrodite kid called Drew that was trying to get with Jason when he and her were together and was just being a total bitch but he dismissed it after he and Jason got together and he learned the kid had way less influence now that Piper was the counselor of Cabin 10. He had seen her once and that was before he,Piper,and Jason went out for their first quest and the mix of her loud ass chewing of the bubblegum in her mouth and Camper's talking loudly made him leave the area,sensory issues sucked.
Before he knew it he was plummeting into the lake but before he fell into the lake he heard someone saying.
“Get away from Jason he’s mine”
He had heard Percy talking about how the lake was deeper than it looked. Leo started to panic, he had never learned to swim in any of his foster homes. The only ones that tried to “teach him” were monsters in disguise and were just trying to kill a demigod by drowning him in the deep end of a pool. He had been wary of learning to swim since then.
A large pointy rock scratched his leg. He would have screamed but he couldn’t breath. He was sinking quickly before he could try and struggle to try and breach the surface. His lungs started to burn and his vision started to fade to black
Jason had been sitting around in Cabin 1 waiting for his boyfriend to arrive back from an experiment he had been talking about. He was interrupted from his peaceful reading from Annabeth barging in. She rushed him to the infirmary, he was starting to get concerned. Did Leo do something stupid again like a machine blowing up in his face for the third time this month.
He was confused to see a delirious Leo sitting on a bed in the infirmary shivering,coughing up water and vomit into a large bucket with Percy trying to help coax water out of his lungs. As Jason focused more he realized a large cut across his leg from his hip to his ankle.
He had known the terrible injuries that Leo had to suffer with. Literally dying obviously didn’t help and getting killed himself also didn’t help. He remembered the bone crushing hug he had gotten from Leo when he came back.
Leo wanted to pass out. Drowning would have to get its second tally mark on the near death experience board but right now he felt horrible mentally and physically. He was interrupting Jason’s time, he specifically wanted some time to chill in his cabin and he failed at getting hurt. He really is the seventh wheel like Nemesis said.
“What happened” He heard a familiar voice say
“I don’t know but I think Percy might” Annabeth replied
“I found him drowning in the Canoe lake when I was going for a swim”
“It was almost as if he got charm spoken into falling in” Percy explain
“If you’re saying it’s Pipe-”
“I’m not saying it’s Piper i’m saying it’s the charm speaker who was jealous when you and Piper got together”
Just as Percy finished speaking Piper barged through the door.
“I swear to god what did Drew do to Leo!”she shouted
“Wait, how do you know what happened?!” the three of them demanded
“I heard those bitches talking about hurting Leo and that he was here because she did something to him”
“Has he said anything about what happened?” Jason questioned
“No he’s been less upbeat than usual” says Annabeth sharpening her dagger in the corner
“Sorry for interrupting your guys's day i’m going to head back to Bunker 9” Leo mumbled
Everyone refused until an Apollo kid appeared and said he was fine but should probably have supervision, Annabeth and Percy were both busy with sword fighting lessons and Piper was busy helping guide new campers. That left his boyfriend Jason which out of everyone was the worst and best person. He would have the best time hanging out with him But also he'd be the most concerned for his well-being and safety.
“Do you want to go to my cabin or your cabin?” Jason asked calmly
“yours….. please” Leo says his voice strained
Leo and Jason both start walking to Cabin one but Leo kept stumbling.
“Do you want me to carry you?” Jason asked.
“Yeah superman” Leo mumbled
Jason let Leo climb up on his back and kept walking to Jason’s Cabin
Jason placed Leo down on the couch. Leo had discovered how to at least be on electronics at Camp Half-Blood so they could watch something on the flat screen TV in Zeus’s cabin.
“I’m guessing you want to watch a telenovela?” Jason joked
“I’ve already annoyed everyone today,you can choose what we watch” Leo voice muffled into Jason’s chest
“Who are you and what did you do with my boyfriend?” Jason laughed,he waited for Leo to joke back at to annoy him into watching a telenovela he had been talking about called La Patrona that Tia Callida had shown him which he learned to be Hera in disguise.
“No i’m not joking i’ve been enough trouble this month,I was lucky that Will even chose to heal me since i’ve always been the seventh wheel”Leo murmured
Jason tightens his grip on Leo.
“Stop holding me so tight I need to breathe too Superm-” Leo laughed
“We all care about you,no matter what you think, you have helped us in ways we couldn’t have imagined. You made the Argo II,You have saved all of us and who called you a seventh wheel because I want to have a talk with them” Jason ranted
Leo melted into his touch.
After a while Leo started to drift off on Jason’s shoulder. It was noticeable when he stopped making comments on the movie they were watching. He had gotten Leo some soup and ambrosia so that the wounds could heal and it wouldn’t hurt his throat which was probably unbearable due to the almost drowning. Tomorrow he would have to go and talk to Drew.
Talk wasn’t the right word, more like punch to death. He wouldn’t care if he lost dessert for a week. It was worth it for his boyfriend. He had learned that Nemesis was the one who told Leo about him and would talk to the resistant god fighter Percy to talk to her, in the meantime he would try and have Leo involved in more stuff.
All that thinking had made him tired and he really just wanted to fall asleep with his boyfriend in his arms so that's what he did.
