Soulmate fics of all kinds.ust have some kind of thing like: writing (i.e. of SM name(s) or first/last words), timer, color vision, etc you get the point.
None of this "The characters are perfect for each other so they ARE soulmates!!" because I love the drama of imagining Character A falling onto a fainting couch and they say their woes about their SM while Character B is in the corner drinking a coffee or something. Plus I would put every fic I read in this if I didn't make the rule bc I'm a hopeless romantic simp garbage fire
