Chapter Text
Rich people were not good people. The opposite of that, in fact. Stupid weirdos who do everything possible in their powers just to have some green dyed paper with the face of yet another rich person on it, called 'money'.
Giyuu should have known. Of course he should've known that, after all the years of being 'familiar' with those people.
In this world where people talked cash, money was everything, and that annoyed Giyuu to no end.
You wanted a new house? The solution was money. You wanted someone dead? Pay up some cash and the person won't last another day. Needed a new wife/husband? Money. A new friend? Money. Getting out of prison without stepping in? Money. Wanting slaves? Money. A new life? Money. Money. Money. Money. Money. Money. Money. Money. Fucking money.
And if you didn't have money? Good luck on surviving in the shitty world more than three years. You might need it.
He hated it. Hated it so much. He hated how they could do whatever, and they wouldn't even face the punishments. He hated how the only way for them to pay for their crimes was death. He hated how they could manage to use their money to even escape death.
He hated how him and Shinobou were the only ones who cared.
Shinobu's voice echoed in his ear as he was walking twards the absurdly enormous house of the shinuzagawas,"Okay, Tomioka-san. You already know the target's name. You can identify her by her long black hair and purple eyes. Just be carefull to not take down anyone but her!"
Shinazugawa Shizu was Giyuu's target for the night. The woman was rather... an actual asshole, in the lack of better words. She was also one-A greatly big one, mind you- of Muzan's associates, which just made her all the more killable.
Based on the information Shinobu had gave him that morning, Shinazugawa had thirty six cases of murder, theft, child and drug trafficing and child abuse, just in the last three years, yet she was still free, laughing at the face of justice.
Well, Giyuu was going to change that.
Apparently, Shinazugawa had thrown the party for her younger son's birthday. Shinazugawa Genya.
He started to walk into the house, but then a bulky man with short army cutted brown hair stopped him, "Welcome, sir. May I know your name?"
Ah, the guards. He somehow forgot about them.
He so wanted to punch the gaurds unconscious and do his job as soon as possible without them jumping in his way, but Shinobu's warning from the morning prevented him from doing so.
So he just cleared his throat and internally thanked Shinobu for managing to hack his name into the list. Or rather, not his name,"Hayashi Akira."
The guard's eyes widened comically, and he quickly started leading him tward the main hall. Seemed like the fake background Shinobu had put under the name was a little too dramatic again,"F-follow me please, sir. I-I'll take you to the main hall."
Giyuu just nodded and followed the guard-Hansel, was written on his name tag- deep into the mansion, eyes trained on the walls and floor and ceiling, taking in everything.
The place was so colorless and soulless it looked pathetic. The walls were all paperless white, with portraits of emotionless faces of emotionless people. The floor was shinning with how clean it was.
Disgusting. All rich people are disgusting.
Him and Hansel walked for a while-Giyuu used that to his advantage to get to know every corner of the place for...later needs- until they got to their destination.
Hansel opened the door to the main hall and, well, Giyuu was tempted to leave the place right then and there and go home to crawl on the couch and eat ice cream, leaving the mission behind.
There were people everywhere. Some by the tables, some by the chairs, and some just standing and talking. Each person had a wear wealthier than the last one. Typical rich idiots, always wanting to surpass each other and show off their money.
In the middle of the huge hall, sat Shinazugawa Shizu, laughing and talking with some other useless wealthy people, eyes fool of greed and hatred.
He had seen eyes like those before.
It's funny how you think just because I let you live I'll let her live too, little one.
No. Nope. He was not going to get reminded of that in the middle of a job.
The ravenet moved to walk twards the old rich woman, hoping he could give Shinobu some helpfull information for the time they went for the kill, but six steps in, he clashed into something hard. Someone, in fact.
Thankfully, he didn't fall and embarrass himself in the middle of all those people, neither did the person he bumped into, but that was because he was holding onto Giyuu's shoulders roughly.
Luckily, before his shoulders would be bruised, the person took his hands off of him, before looking at him in the eyes,"Look where you're going!"
The guy was around the same height as him, maybe taller, and surely, he was dressed like a hugely wealthy guy. His skin was white, clean and flawless, except the scars starting from his right cheek up to the bridge of his nose.
The guy reminded him of of Shinazugawa Shizu, somehow. He had wild short completely white hair, and while Giyuu hadn't seen anyone else with that kind of hair, he had some guesses who he was looking like.
The thing that took Giyuu by surprise was that the guy had purple eyes. Just like Shinazugawa Mei. His nose, eyebrows and skin also looked the same ass Shinuzagawa Mei.
Was he Shinazugawa Genya?
Shinobu answered his mental question,"Shinazugawa Sanemi. Eldest son of Shinazugawa Shizu. Be careful of him, he's not one to trick easily."
Giyuu stared at the guy who was staring back at him with annoyed eyes, waiting for his response with a scowl.
Sighing, he said,"Sorry." Somehow managing to keep his voice steady and firm.
The guy-Sanemi. Nice name- just nodded, yet not moving and still staring into his eyes, looking for something.
Giyuu just looked away at the target, having nothing to say and nothing to do with the eldest son of Shinazugawa, since according to the file he read, the guy had done nothing wrong in his life.
So, finding his stay and the interaction not helpful and a waste of time, he turned to once again walk in Shinuzagawa Mei's direction, but a hand around his wrist prevented him from walking.
For a split moment, he tought the guards somehow found him out and before he could panic, he ripped his arm out of the hand around it, the hand going to the right pocket of his suit pants, wrapping around the knife he had there, just in case.
But then he realised who it probably was, and relaxed, taking the hand out of his pocket and tilting his head in Sanemi's direction with what he hoped was a questioning look,"Yes?"
The white haired guy blinked in confusion at Giyuu's rather weird actions for one small second, before frowning,"What’s your name?"
The guy's expression looked like he expected Giyuu to spill his real name, along with his reason of being in the party and his identity as the famous faceless assassin who took down only rich people, which was weird, because Sanemi didn't know that.
"Hayashi Akira." He informed, his voice as nonchalant as he could make it to be, calming his heart rate and breathing, trying his hardest to not make the guy realise it was a lie.
Sanemi's frown deepened some as he fell into thought, probably trying to make sense why he didn't know any rich guy names Hayashi Akira or something. Giyuu had the feeling the guy was smart, smart enough to to realise Giyuu wasn't who he pretended to be.
"Tomioka-san, what are you doing?" For a small amount of time, Giyuu had forgotten Shinobu could see him by the main hall's cameras.
He quickly and as subtly as he could, tapped his fingers on his tigh in morse code for Shinobu,"Tell me about Shinazugawa Sanemi."
There was an annoyed sigh from the other line, before she answered,"There's not much to say. He's twenty five years old, he has studied business in college, is his mother's heir to all the business. But I don't think his mother likes him or his brother very much." There was some tapping on the keyboard before Shinobu started talking again,"See the scar on his face? His mother did that. There are many more of them under his clothes, I believe."
And wasn't that just lovely. That woman was cruel enough to abuse her own son. Giyuu had the faint feeling he knew who had killed the woman's husband and other children.
He was going to kill that woman in a way it tortured her.
The white haired Shinazugawa snapped out of his thoughts and extended a hand twards Giyuu, looking away before staring at him with untrusting eyes,"I'm Shinazugawa Sanemi. I don't know what your real name is or who you actually are, but I can feel you are trouble. Who are you?" He sneered the last part, even though he didn't look one bit angry. Just alarmed.
Giyuu had kind of seen that coming. The guy was smart. Smart enough to see right through him.
Taking a grounding breath, he mentally begged who ever was listening that Shinobu wouldn't lecture him for what he was about to do and took Sanemi's hand, using it to pull him close to the point their chests were pressed against eachother.
The guy's breath hithed, and before panic took him whole, Giyuu made sure his mouth was close to the guy's ear without touching him any further, and whispered,"You are right, but I hope you aren't planning on blowing my cover, Shinazugawa-san."
Then he pulled away, letting go of his hand. The white haired one looked shocked, shaken and...flustered.
Well, Giyuu felt as flustered as the guy looked.
His eyes were round and wide, mouth opening and closing like a fich, cheeks and neck red.
Before he could somehow manage to embarrass himself further, he turned around and walked away, hearing a furious shout of "Why the fuck would I listen to you?!" that he ignored, walking toward Shinazugawa Shizu, and this time, Shinazugawa Sanemi didn't stop him.
"What the hell was that?!"
"I have no idea, but I really hope it worked."
Because if it did, the only thing he needed to do was find out where he could find Shinazugawa Shizu alone, and then, even god couldn't help that criminal escape death, let alone money.
