Your Name is Larry Trainor

Summary:

Your name is Larry Trainor.
And you hate hospitals.
Everyone says the doctors are here to help you.
Their touch heals. Their care saves. They are heroes.
But you’ve known, since you were a young child,
That playing doctor destroys lives. And you hate the word “hero.”

Notes:

I read icemachine's wonderful Larry poem "You Are Larry" from 2020 recently and it gave me so much creative juice to write this Larry poem. There are definitely some ideas in here inspired by that poem. You Are Larry was inspired by Richard Siken's You Are Jeff, but mine isn't exactly, since it's inspired by You Are Larry and doesn't follow the structure or anything from You Are Jeff.

Anyway, thanks for writing that poem and inspiring me to ramble on way too long about Larry Trainor in the form of this poem.

This poem will be separated into chapters and I may add chapters in between other chapters later and I will very likely add chapters beyond what I'm posting now. It was just getting long and I was getting eager to get it out here. So, enjoy.
