Summary:

Aiken Hockaday feels like an outsider. Raised by one of the greatest Magicians in the Two Worlds and overshadowed by his sister, who can command storms, Aiken can see magic but can never use it. He feels like he doesn’t truly belong anywhere.

When nightmares of the lost land of Vita begin to plague him, Aiken decides to find his way to the legendary place of history and fable.

Chapter Text

Jack stared at the two kids in front of him—a toddler and an infant. He sighed heavily as he watched them drift to sleep. All he could do was sit and wonder how he could possibly take care of them.

He was never meant to have children, let alone two. But here they were, right in front of him. It felt almost like some cosmic joke: make the most irresponsible man in the Two Worlds responsible for two small beings.

He ran a hand through his hair, a mix of fear and determination gnawing at him. He had no idea how to raise children, especially with how dangerous his life was. But as he looked at their peaceful faces, he knew one thing for certain—he wasn't going to fail them.
