    "That's my boy," Gurney tucked a stray curl behind Paul's ear. He guided him down onto the mattress and then sat beside him. "Does your hand still hurt?" he took Paul's right hand and began to massage it again.
    "Yes," Paul nodded, acknowledging the pain. He rested his cheek against Gurney's shoulder, allowing the older man to continue his soothing touch. After a moment, he lifted his gaze to meet Gurney's eyes for a long time before bridging the remaining gap between them, pressing his lips to Gurney's.
