Work Text:

Everyone was passed out in their hotel rooms after the concert they had and if she had to be honest, so was Hyeju who was already wrapped up in her blanket and seconds away from sinking into the hotel mattress and succumbing to sleep.

Her vision was getting blurry as she closed her eyes, and her breathing evened out as a sign of rest. She already washed off all the makeup the stylists put on before the concert, brushed her teeth, showered off all the sweat and put on her sleeping clothes.

Just as she thought that was enough moving around for today, someone knocked on her door. Hyeju checked the time, it was almost 1 am in the morning. Who in their right mind would knock on someone's doot at such a time? It couldn't be one of the hotel staff, she's sure.

Whoever they were, Hyeju was sure they were going to regret disturbing her because she would not be nice to deal with right now with her grumpy mood. Arson somehow made it to the plate for a quick second but she knew it'd only cause huge problems for her company and group.

'I swear if it's Hyunjin I'll fistfight her right in these hotel halls-' Hyeju grumbles in her head right before she opens the door, forgetting to unlock the safety door lock hotels usually have and pulling on it again and again until she realized her mistake.

Cheeks flushed red in embarrassment, she closed her eyes for a few seconds and looked back up. "Hey, are you good there?"

That voice, she'd recognize it anywhere. Hyeju's immediate expression softened and closed the door to unlock the safety lock and let the slightly shorter intruder in. "You could've texted me if you wanted to sleep over," she slicked her hair back.

"But that's the thing, I didn't want to sleep over," the girl with shoulder-length auburn hair took off her trenchcoat, "See?"

Come to think of it, summer nights in the country they're at should be warm so she wouldn't need the trenchcoat. "You're going out?" Hyeju asks, almost in disbelief. It's late, like really late. She's positive that going out this late without supervision would get them in trouble.

The older girl was wearing a white lace top and a pair of cargo light blue jeans, "I wanted to go on a walk with you. We rarely get to go out, just the two of us."

People usually say their heart skipped a beat or they have butterflies in their stomach when someone they love says things like this but Hyeju feels a whole zoo in her stomach going on a rampage, breaking out of their cages and overthrowing the security system.

Not sure if that made any sense but it didn't matter. What matters is that Gowon wants to go out and Hyeju is in pyjamas, "Why so suddenly?" She asked to see if there was any other way that she would want to sleep in with her instead.

"Everyone is asleep, even the other crews are asleep. When else are we going to ever get this chance again?" Gowon took Hyeju's hand and looked at her face, "Do you not want to?"

There was no way she was going to say no to that, even if she had been sleepy before, all her exhaustion faded away with the soft touch of Gowon's hand on hers, "Give me a moment, I have to change." There was no point arguing when she knew it'd make her happy to simply comply.

While Gowon sat on her bed, she took off her pyjamas and went through her suitcase to find her grey T-shirt and a pair of dark baggy pants. She felt a stare on her back, "What?" She turned around and Gowon gave a sinister smile. Hyeju did not like that look.

"You're leaving yourself opened like this," Gowon got down and poked her bare sides, earning a grunt from the younger girl as she dropped the shirt she was holding and fell onto the bed on her back. The older girl saw this as an opportunity to attack her sides even more.

Hyeju let out a small squeak and her voice cracked so it made Gowon laugh even more, tickling her nonstop until Hyeju got a hold of her wrists, held them up and pulled them down to the sheets. Gowon stumbled down on Hyeju and sat on her bare stomach.

"Sorry," Gowon tried to get up but Hyeju's grip on her wrist was too strong, they weren't hurting or anything, she was just holding her and not letting go. "Hyeju?"

The younger girl's eyes were hooded but they always looked like that so it didn't mean anything, she didn't say anything and pulled Gowon down into a hug, her arms wrapping around her back. She let out a sigh as she turned her head to Gowon's ears, "I love you."

Her voice was barely above a whisper but Gowon heard her loud and clear, a warm feeling spread inside her chest, "I love you too, you dork. Now let's get up, we still have to go out."

She almost forgot about that, she quickly took her shirt from the floor and put her pants and shirt on. Hyeju took a glance at Gowon who was humming some songs and what she was wearing. Without much thought, she picked up her black jacket and put it on.

Making sure they brought along their keycards, they closed the door behind them and walked to the nearest elevator. Stealth wasn't what they were good at but with everyone they knew being asleep and the people in that country not knowing who they were, they made it out.

There was a river near the hotel and Gowon thought it'd be romantic for them to take a stroll around there and go back before 2 am. There weren't many cars passing down the streets and there was barely anyone outside so it felt like there were only the two of them.

It was pretty, despite the lack of fish or living creatures in the river that were visible to the human eye, the river alone was a sight to behold with the beautifully made benches to go sightseeing or to relax the mind around them, the trees were also nicely lined up.

The streetlights and tile patterns on the ground made it look magical, almost as if it was from a romance book. The soft glow of the moonlight didn't make it to the river but it was still very well appreciated as it gives off a nice feel to the scenery.

Hyeju took Gowon's hand into hers and intertwined them together, letting Gowon cling to her. Hyeju wouldn't outwardly say it but she likes it when Gowon holds on to her, it makes her feel needed, not that she wasn't already, being needed just feels nice, you know?

Enjoying the night view of the riverside with each other in comfortable silence, the cold midnight air enveloped them. Gowon pretends to not be affected by it, leaning closer to Hyeju for warmth and slightly shivering but it wasn't that cold, she could do just fine.

Mentally cursing herself for choosing to wear a sleeveless top but she couldn't blame herself too much, she didn't know the nights would be cold here and Google said it was relatively warm. Blaming an app would be childish but she still did it anyway, internally.

Out of nowhere, she thought of one of the memes she saw of one of her friends. Orbits were joking around saying 'When something bad happens to you, just blame Blockberry Creative' with a video of Hyunjin saying their old company's name in a weird voice attached to it.

Gowon chuckled to herself and Hyeju turned to her, asking 'What's up?' with her facial expressions so she shook her head in response saying it was nothing without actually having to say it out loud. A silent language they've both grown accustomed to.

They almost reached the end of the river and Hyeju let go of Gowon's hand and broke away from her hold. The shorter girl got a bit confused but she knew immediately what she was doing when the younger girl took off her jacket and put it over her shoulders.

"You're cold, use it," Hyeju helped her put it on properly and zipped it up for her. "It makes you look small," she chuckled.

"You're only like, five centimetres taller than me. We're basically the same height," the older girl counters.

"Whatever floats your boat."

"Where'd you learn that term?" Gowon raised a brow, "The words are supposedly too fancy for you."

"Are you calling me dumb?"

"No?" the shorter girl said in a silly voice and quickly ran back the opposite way. Whatever she does at night is more chaotic than what she does in the morning and she doesn't how to explain how it works but it works. She looked back and saw Hyeju chasing after her.

She couldn't shout at her and tell her to stop running since it was almost 2 am and they couldn't disturb the locals who were sleeping so Hyeju just kept running. Thankfully, with her slightly longer legs, she managed to catch Gowon who almost squealed out.

Forcing back their laughter made it sound more like weird giggling and that made them want to laugh even more. They stopped after a while though. Hyeju had Gowon wrapped around her arms and Gowon didn't mind it one bit, in fact, she liked it.

"We should be getting back..," Gowon looked at the time on her phone but words trailed off as she noticed Hyeju's stares. She rested her forehead on hers, and Gowon placed back her phone in her pocket to reach out to Hyeju's cheeks and cup them.

"What's up with you tonight?" Gowon chuckled and asked softly, she didn't hate how Hyeju was acting but she did want an explanation.

Hyeju rested her face on Gowon's shoulders with her arms still wrapped around her back, "I just missed you."

"You see me every day," Gowon can't help but find this side of her endearing.

"Yeah, but we never actually get to be alone. Vivi unnie is always checking in on everyone like she's a divorced mom, Hyunjin barges into people's rooms for fun and Yeojin- wait actually, Yeojin might be fine," Hyeju rambles.

"Then, can I kiss you?"

"Yes, please," that was all the confirmation Gowon needed before gently pulling Hyeju's face down and softly pressing their lips together. As if the world around them faded, neither cared what would happen if someone accidentally saw them right now.

Mostly because there was nobody awake and outside at such an ungodly hour on a weekday and that orbits are well-known liars and great editors so even if someone took pictures, nobody would believe them and they'd be called liars once more.

It's weird to have a whole fandom that lies and jokes around to get more people to watch their content, stream their music and stan them but at times like this, she's grateful. 'Sorry orbits, sorry C.loos,' she said in her head.

Hyeju pressed a bit harder on Gowon's lips and at that time, she didn't think she'd mind even if the world just exploded. Gowon felt butterflies in her stomach and she didn't want them to stop anytime soon. She moved her lips slowly and Hyeju followed.

When they both pulled away, Gowon's face was flushed red while Hyeju's ears were crimson red. They looked at each other and smiled, "I love you, Hyeju."

"I love you too, Chaewon," she replied and oh did that make Gowon feel like the luckiest woman in the entire universe, loonaverse or whatever other verses there are out there. Nobody has ever had her like this, not like Hyeju has her.

They walked back to their hotel hand in hand, smiling like idiots in love. Well, maybe that's because they were, just two idiots in love. They ended up passing out on Hyeju's bed without changing back into their pyjamas, legs tangled around the other.

It's safe to say nobody found out that they sneaked out last night. Nobody except their members who tried to wake them up only to see them cuddling each other, clearly not in clothes they would wear to sleep.

"Yeojin, get my phone!" Hyunjin shout-whispered, "They're gonna have one heck of a morning."
