An AU to Ruv's Experiences With Family where Ares is Krus' father....

Chapter Text

1. Krus is more like his biological mom in which he is generally very reserved, but just as blazingly passionate in his love as his father is. Krus getting angry is such a rare occurrence to the point where even his father (and some of his uncles as well) is scared of invoking his wrath.

2. He is part Russian, part Italian, and part Greek. He grew up speaking Russian, Greek, Italian, and English and is so fluent at all aforementioned languages that even natives of the countries of said languages would think he's from that country.

3. He keeps track of all of his siblings' (and their consorts) names.

4. He found out of his powers and true heritage during puberty, as it would flare up at random and get stronger whenever he was under stress.

5. Despite knowing of his dad and his paternal relatives all being gods, Krus fears his power and is too scared to explore them in fear that he'll end up hurting and/or scaring off everyone he loves most. It's so bad to the point where Ares and Aphrodite reluctantly agreed to have Circe (albeit reluctantly as well) make emotion suppressing pills to keep his powers in check. They don't 100% suppress his emotions, but just enough to prevent his powers from flaring up, as (in this canon) children of Ares commonly get most of their power through strong and distressing emotions such as anger, sadness, fear, etc.

6. Krus was raped, roofied, and sexually harassed by Zeus numerous times in his first life, starting from when he was 15. Ares wishes he wasn't inferior to his father so that he could beat the shit outta him for hurting his precious son.

7. Ares and Aphrodite favor Krus and Eros the most out of all their children.

8. Ares gifted Krus a pet cat for his 18th birthday. Zeus ran the cat over as "revenge" for Krus refusing his sexual advances, later forcing Krus to lay with him that night and threatening to mutilate his parents and siblings if he didn't comply. What's worse is that Krus had a girlfriend at the time who broke up with him that day because she had caught the two together and thought he was cheating on her when, in reality, he wasn't in a position where he could consent.

9. This AU's Krus may or may not be masochistic and may or may not be denying it.

10. The reason I picked Ares as Krus' father was bc of 4 things

  • Krus' zodiac sign.
  • The contrast between short-tempered father and (for the most part) rational son.
  • The character having a soft spot for their lover and children while being an absolute dick to everyone else trope being one of my favs. 
  • Ares makes sense as Krus' father in terms of height and how passionate Krus is in what he does and who he loves, just like Ares.

11. Krus' love languages:

  • Cooking
  • Singing
  • Physical touch (give him scalp massages and he'll be putty in your hands, lol)
  • Words of affirmation
  • Learning the languages his loved ones speak so that they can speak more comfortably around him

12. He talks to Rsch and Ruv in Russian and English, switches between Greek, Russian, and English (but mainly speaks Greek) when talking with Ares, Aphrodite, and his siblings, and talks to everyone else in English. He'll occasionally throw in some Italian if he's that comfortable with the person.

13. Thanks to being around Krus, Ares, and Aphrodite a lot in her first life, Rsch has also picked up on Greek, English, and Italian and is almost as fluent as Krus is in said languages.

14. Krus is ironically a little spoon BC I CAN AND NO ONE WILL STOP MEH.

15. The reason why this AU's Krus has such a low tolerance to alcohol is bc the pills, which he takes every three hours, don't go well with any alcoholic beverage of any kind.

16. Speaking of the pills, he often says it's because of a medical condition he'd rather not disclose. The only ones who know what the pills are actually for are his parents and siblings (oh, and Circe too).

17. Krus has a sweet tooth. Then again, this is a universal constant for my AUs, so...

18. Ares is two feet taller than Krus but frequently manipulates his height to be shorter so that Krus doesn’t feel to intimidated by him. Same for Aphrodite except that she's only 1ft taller than Krus.

19. Krus' fav dishes are angel hair pomodoro, Beef Stroganov, and pastitsio.

20. Krus is better at cooking than his dad and his lover, both of who are absolute SHIT at cooking.

21. He can grow facial hair, but prefers himself without it, so he shaves.

Notes:

Yes, I did the math.

Crius (Hecate's dad) and Rhea (Zeus' mom) were siblings.

This means that Zeus and Hecate were cousins.

In my canon, Circe is the daughter of Hecate, so with this in mind, this means that Circe and Ares are second cousins, as Ares is Zeus' son.

This means that Krus and Circe are second cousins once removed.

Chapter 2: Krus' pills

Name of the pills: Otevsruk (Oh-teh-vz-rook)

Explanation behind the name: Basically Krus' full name backward bc I have nothing better + it fits the fact that he's the only one who takes such pills bc Circe made it specifically for him

Type of medicine/drug: Capsule

Status: Prescribed??? (does it count as prescribed if Circe custom made it for Krus?)

How it looks: Small, light gray capsules in black plastic pill bottle with no label on it

Its purpose: To repress the intensity of Krus' emotions to keep his power in check.

Side effects of taking the pill:

  • Lower tolerance to alcohol
  • Lower libido but higher stamina when having sex
  • Higher production of oxytocin during sex due to the rawness and intensity of copulation (if with the right person and consent from both parties) being too powerful for the pill to repress
  • Slightly colder to the touch than usual
  • Touch starvation
  • Fluctuating levels of masochism
  • Low immunity (poor Krusy be getting sick every winter and still forcing himself to go to work)
  • Disables tear ducts
  • Reduces intenseness of sadness, anger, and fear
  • Lessened appetite

Effects of withdrawal:

  • Emotions feel more intense after two hours of withdrawal
  • Random flashbacks/nightmares of traumatic events
  • Feelings of sadness, anger, and fear piling up
  • Random mental breakdowns
  • Krus' powers flare up
  • Lashing out at people at random
  • Practically almost scalding hot to the touch
  • Drug and alcohol cravings to compensate for the loss of the pill
  • Vomiting and dizzy spills

Chapter 3: Οικογένεια Воссоединение (Oikogéneia Vossoyedineniye)

Upon finding out from Helios that Krus was alive once more, Ares and Aphrodite dropped their shit and immediately got to the church unannounced and for the first time in years, the couple found themselves crying as they hugged their son.

"Mama?" Krus asked, nearly suffocating as his parents practically squeezed him. "Papa?"

Krus was in disbelief. I mean, sure he's known ever since puberty that he was related to the fucking gods themselves, but...it can't be them...

There's no way it can be them.

There's no way they care enough to come back for him...right?

"ΠΟΛΥΤΙΜΟΣ ΓΙΟΣ ΜΟΥ!" His father sobbed out. "ΜΑΣ ΜΑΣ ΛΕΙΨΑΤΕ ΠΟΛΥ!"

(Translation: MY PRECIOUS SON! WE'VE MISSED YOU SO MUCH!)

Yep; Krus concluded. It was them.

His parents were here.

They were actually here.

He thought that they moved on, and he was ready to accept that posibility, but it seems like they never moved on.

He wondered why that was so, but now wasn't the time to ponder that.

His parents were here! And they still care for him, even after all these years.

Despite the fact that he was suffocating under their grip, he was too happy to realize that and hugged them back.

Rsch chuckled. "Сладкий (Sweet)."

She never had a good relationship with her parents, but she was happy that that wasn't the case with her lover.

He deserves it, and everything good in the world.

"What the actual fuck?" Ruv asked incredulously.

"Watch your language around my GREAT-GRANDKIDS, Ruvyzvat." Aphrodite said, looking at Ruv coldly as she and Ares pulled away from the hug, giving their son time to breath.

"As if I give a..." Ruv trailed off upon realizing what Aphrodite had referred to his children as. "...WAIT WHAT?"

Ruv looked at Krus, Ares, and Aphrodite, then at his sons, Ichigo and Andrei, then at Krus, Ares, and Aphrodite, then at his sons once more.

Ares and Aphrodite were Krus' parents?

Ares and Aphrodite were Ichigo and Andrei's GREAT-GRANDPARENTS???

WHAT THE ACTUAL FU-

Ruv catches Sarv as she faints at the revelation while he, Senpai, and Andrei, a three year old boy with blonde hair and white eyes, looked on incredulously.

His other son, Ichigo, a little boy with peach-colored hair and the same white eyes his twin had, perked up and, despite Ruv's protests, ran over to Ares.

"You ow gwandpa?" Ichi asked eagerly.

Ares chuckled. "Yeah. I'm your dedushka's dad."

Ichi's big white eyes lit up. "Cool!"

Ares smiles and then turns back to his son. "How have you been doing these past two weeks?"

"We've been fine, papa. And before you ask, yes. Rsch has ensured that I've gotten enough sleep, that I don't overwork myself, and that I don't forget to take my medication every two hours."

"Ευχαριστώ τη Γαία για την ύπαρξη αυτής της γυναίκας." Ares muttered as he hugged his son once more.

(Translation: Thank Gaia for that woman's existence.)

"Sorry we couldn't be here sooner." Ares apologized.

"It's alright, papa." Krus reassured.

"Sorry for interrupting the touching moment, but if Ares and Aphrodite are Krusveto's parents, then how did he end up dying?"

"I'm a demigod." Krus answered. "Although I consider Aphrodite my mama, she is my step-mother and papa had me with another woman."

"Alright." Senpai said. He was about to ask another question, but before he could...

"BOO!"

The startled Krus turned to punch whoever the fuck was behind him, coming face to face with Eros as he blocked Krus' punch and laughed hysterically.

"That wasn't funny, brat." Krus said, glaring at him.

"Sorry, little αδελφός (brother)." Eros said in between laughter before eventually calming down and giving Krus a hug.

"But in all seriousness, it's nice to see you again. You have no idea how much me, μαμά (mom) and Μπαμπάς (dad) have been bawling his eyes out about your death over the years. Even γιαγιά (grandmother) has cried about your death once."

Krus' eyes widened. "Really?"

He never had the best relationship with his grandmother, so to hear that she's cried for him, even if just once, was a major surprise.

"Yeah." Eros said. "I know you're relationship with her is a bit..."

The love god winced. "Eh..."

"Shitty?" Ares asked, attempting to fill in for his son.

"Tumultuous?" Aphrodite replied.

"Confusing and concerning as fuck?" Rsch added as well.

"Yeah, all of the above." Eros said before turning back to his younger brother. "I know that you're relationship with her is shitty, tumultuous, and confusing and concerning as fuck, but she still loves you in some way."

*cue crickets chirping*

"How is that to be?" Krus asked.

As much as he loves his paternal grandmother, she's attempted to kill him and shows signs of hatred towards him for laying with his grandfather, and she was right to hate him because he shouldn't have let himself be used like that.

Sure, he wasn't in a position where he couldn't consent, but he still should have done SOMETHING.

Maybe if he did something, his grandmother wouldn't hate him.

As if able to read his mind, Aphrodite was quick to reassure him.

"I know it's hard to believe given your...interactions with her..." Aphrodite sheepishly chuckled as Krus cringed at her statement.

Flashback...

The 18-year-old Krus' eye twitched as Hera yelled at him, and although he hated the thought of swearing and obscenity, he completely lost it at this moment.

"ПОХУЙ ТЫ, СТАРАЯ СУКА!" Krus cussed out, giving Hera the middle finger as the room shook from the sheer power of his voice.

(Translation: FUCK YOU, YOU OLD BITCH!)

Everyone was stunned silent, with most in the room even making mental notes to not invoke his wrath, especially when he hasn't taken his Otveskruv yet.

Flashback ends...

"...But she still has some ounce of love for you." Aphrodite said. "I assure you of that."

Krus nodded as Ares spoke to him.

"All that shit aside, wanna go out and get some ice cream and catch up?"

Krus looked at Rsch, non-verbally asking for consent.

As much as he wanted to catch up with his dad, he DID promise his lover that he'd spend the rest of the day with her and he didn't want to upset her.

Rsch simply smiled at him, not upset at all. "Go ahead. We can spend time together another day."

"Are you sure?"

"I'm sure, baby. Go ahead."

"Alright."

Rsch smiled as she watched her lover and her future father-in-law walk out of the Church, with the latter already initiating conversation with the former.

'Most of his past lovers would be upset in this situation, but Rschvania isn't.' Ares thought to himself. 'All the more why I don't regret giving her my approval to date my sweet son. She's the best one he's ever brought home.'

Notes:

Lore time:

1. So yeah, Aphrodite is Krus' stepmom. Ares and Krus' bio mom had Krus out of wedlock and ended things amicably. Mom eventually married someone else, but still agreed on joint custody of Krus with Ares, so Krus has known Ares his whole life.

Krus' bio mom and step-dad granted Ares full custody of Krus in their wills, but due to their murderer having been paid by Krus' aunt and uncle to murder them AND tamper with the wills before committing the murder, Krus' aunt and uncle ended up with custody of him instead.

It still worked out in the end, however, as after Krus' aunt and uncle disowned him, Hera killed them so that Ares would have custody of Krus.

2. After Krus' rape by Zeus, Hera...didn't handle it well. She felt sympathy for Krus, given that Krus was either drugged or not drugged but still in a position where he couldn't consent all the times Zeus raped/molested him, but at this point, she's already so used to taking her anger for her husband out on anyone he rapes to the point where, even if Krus didn't do anything wrong, she began to make multiple attempts on his life and has said things to him in the heat of the moment that she wishes she never said.

3. In the flashback, Krus had ran out of Otevsruk and was waiting for Circe to make another batch for him, so he was going through a temporary withdrawal and snapped at Hera as a result.

Aphrodite: wow you and Aphrodite are home early from the movies. What happened? 

Krusveto: We got kicked out because papa wouldn't stop yelling diving scores as people jumped off the titanic. 

Ares: That last guy had a solid 8, I'm telling you!

 

Ares and Aphrodite: Surprise! We're having a baby! 

Krusveto: What?!

Ichi and Andrei:

Andrei: You need to stop swearing so much.

Andrei: Now now, don't be like that. Just replace the swear words with 'beep' and you'll be fine.
