Chapter Text
Alhaitham. That was all this blonde could think, every day, every hour, every minute and every second. He sat in the House of Daena, trying to draw something, literally anything, but he couldn’t. All he could draw was muscular man with grey hair and green eyes. Even though the drawing had a distasteful expression on it, it was still beautiful, almost like a photo. Kaveh really hated that. Really? His art block was hitting everything but it was making him draw Alhaitham? OF ALL PEOPLE? Kaveh mumbled, “I hate him.” To himself, thinking nobody was listening, until a voice spoke up.
“Hate who?”
Kaveh quickly shut his sketchbook, creating a loud bang.
“Well? Answer me.”
Kaveh was ready to slap him. In the middle of the library. Alhaitham keeps doing this and it’s really not fair. Kaveh should be allowed to sneak up on someone too!
“No one.”
Alhaitham sat down in front of Kaveh.
“Then who were you drawing?”
“Uhh.. Someone I saw at the bazaar today, no one really.”
“Ah. Alright. But why do you hate them?”
Kaveh had to think of something fast.
He gulped. "He, um, took the last of my favourite snack!”
“…You mean the bag right next to you? That snack he supposedly took the last of?”
“The worker was really nice and went and got one from the back for me.”
“Understandable.”
Kaveh watched Alhaitham silently read the book he picked up, not realising that his own face was just the slightest tint of pink.
Archons, what was that warm feeling he felt when he saw Alhaitham? “I mean.. those feelings have never been there before.. How come they show up now?” Kaveh thought to himself. It really was the worst. He could feel his heartbeat going 20 beats higher, his stomach cartwheeling, and a warmness on his face. Should he go to a doctor? No, he didn’t have the funds for that, nor did he want to ask Alhaitham for them. Instead, he chose his only other option: Tighnari.
He got up.
“And where is our world-renowned architect going now?”
“Tighnari’s place.. I realised a I forgot something there last week.”
“Hm, take some water. You always forget to drink some.”
Just as Alhaitham opened his eyes after that last line, Kaveh was gone.
