You're too precious...

Summary:

Kuya was clearly always the grand sorcerer's favorite clan member, and the first to hear every one of Huey’s little ideas or rants. The two had grown rather close due to the decades of knowing each other. Huey, due to his essence, was practically a mortal version of an immortal (a human with a very extended life span) and the yokai, well, was just immortal for the most part.

Notes:

A fic where I push my delusions that huey is just a silly little guy who fell under pressure of perfection and power until he reached his breaking point <3

Also, English is not even my second language, so pretty much, my grammar is shit.

Chapter 1: Hold you close, I shall...

Chapter Text

‧͙⁺˚*・༓☾…..

‘Just another stupid day done and over with…’  The first thoughts that crossed Huey’s mind as a sigh left his lips. Being the grand sorcerer was more of a position of being another slave to the royal family of the Klein continent, and it was awful…

Huey did not want to get back to the light territory, it was too far from where he was. Even though his familiars would be worried, he could care less about it at this very moment where he felt like the world was crumbling him like a piece of paper all the shitty work of “do this, do that. Curse them, curse that. Bring this, bring that.”

He just wanted to rip his long white hair off from his very scalp is how annoyed he was. But, it was to all soon fade away as soon as felt a familiar purple mist surround him.

“My my..master wandering around at such a late hour…”

Huey snapped out of his thoughts as he heard the voice of the fox yokai, realizing the mist had been surrounding him for a while as of now.

“Kuya?”

Huey spoke as he walked through the mist, practically cutting a perfect path unaffected by the mist as he looked around to spot the yokai. And appear he did, sitting on a thick branch of a large and almost ancient oak tree, as he looked at the grand sorcerer.

“Ah, master. Have you finally snapped out of your little world?”

Hearing no response from the other man, Kuya continued

“Say, master, what brings you to the dark territory in the middle of the night?”

Kuya seemed a bit curious as to why Huey out of all people was in the dark territory at such an hour. After all, he knew his mortal master held a bit of… disliking… to the darkness.

“No reason.”

The yokai’s eyes narrowed ever so slightly, he knew when Huey lied. It didn’t take a rocket scientist to figure it out either, after all, no matter how powerful the grand sorcerer was, he was a horrible liar.

“Ah, still lying to me?”

Kuya said as he got down from the tree, well more like jumped down before walking over to Huey.

“Master seems a little tired..the royals again?”

Kuya asked, his usual playful tone turning rather soft as he noticed the fatigue present on the already pale face of his master.

“Those vile humans hold no respect for people do they?”

The yokai said as an annoyed expression started to appear on his face before he quickly masked it with a smile.

“Rather not dwell on it, Kuya.”

.
‘Rather not dwell on it’ ?”

Kuya repeated in disbelief, as his gaze never left Huey’s. He had never been shut off by the sorcerer in the past before, this was quite.. new …to him, and rather concerning as well.

“Correct, now please, I need to go. I don’t have time for your tricks right now”

Huey looked at the yokai before walking away, well, trying to before Kuya stopped him in his tracks. As much of a trickster yokai Kuya was, he always had those times where he was genuinely concerned and just not acting like a drama queen.

“Let me go, Kuya”

“Not until you tell me what in the seven circles of hell is going on. Huey, do you think you can shut me down and not expect me to question you for the rest of eternity to get answers?”

Huey paused for a moment hearing the fox yokai refer to him by his name for the first time in what felt like ages. And that was all it took for Kuya to get Huey to sigh as he turned back at him.

“You persistent ass fox…you’ll be the end of me someday…”

‧̍̊·̊‧̥°̩̥˚̩̩̥͙°̩̥‧̥·̊‧̍̊ ♡ °̩̥˚̩̩̥͙°̩̥ ·͙*̩̩͙˚̩̥̩̥*̩̩̥͙·̩̩̥͙*̩̩̥͙˚̩̥̩̥*̩̩͙‧͙ °̩̥˚̩̩̥͙°̩̥ ♡ ‧̍̊·̊‧̥°̩̥˚̩̩̥͙°̩̥‧̥·̊‧̍̊

Now that the fox yokai had gotten his dear master convinced to return to his house, there were things to be discussed. More importantly to Kuya..know what the hell the royals had gotten Huey to do for him to turn into that bloody Solarian No.2…

Kuya’s house was the same as ever. Random trinkets everywhere, shiny things he’d found, a table with things scattered on it like some madman had thrown them just on there and of course, it was eye burning purple. Just purple, except his bed which was white. But that wouldn’t really help the eyes of a person who wasn’t used to seeing this far too often. But the grand sorcerer was very used to this, rather he found it…comforting to see?

As soon as they arrived, Kuya made Huey sit down as he himself leaned back, against the wall. Looking at his master, who unlike his normal cold and stoic self, looked tired and vulnerable. A side most would die and live 5 lifetimes and never get the chance to even think about.

“Now, master, what happened?”

Kuya spoke, breaking the thick silence that had once graced the room. He did not look like he would take ‘ no’ as an answer. He never did, no yokai’s ever did.

“It’s a long story, Kuya. Pretty sure longer than what your attention span is”

Huey could not help but point out how short his clan member’s attention span was normally, which quickly lightened the heavy mood in the room as he proceeded to tease Kuya about it.

“My attention span is not THAT short! Master is being dramatic here again”

Kuya said, in a rather dramatic tone. Huey was really pulling out every trick from his ass to divert Kuya from his current state.

“Am I the dramatic one here, or you?”

Huey chuckled slightly hearing how dramatic his clan member was, it was certainly enduring to him how different the yokai was with him rather than how he was with other people.

“I am not dramatic, master! In which world am I dramatic?”

“This one, and most likely every other that exists”

And that’s how those two spent about an hour…bickering like children. Just that Kuya was acting like a drama queen and Huey was adding fuel to the dramatic fire. Kuya had seriously forgotten all about why he had been all serious and shit before, and that was exactly what Huey wanted. He hated seeing his favorite yokai concerned and worried. Especially for him.

Kuya was still going on and on, trying to convince Huey (more as if to convince himself) that he was not dramatic. Huey’s gaze diverted to the open window in the room, the moonlight shining through it. That’s when reality hit him again. It was already well past midnight.. shit…

Kuya paused as he saw Huey’s attention divert to the window. Before he could speak again, Huey cut him off.

“It’s well past midnight, Kuya.”

Kuya tried to speak to only be shut up by Huey.

Huey then pulled Kuya to the bed and made him lay down. It’s what he had to do to get the yokai to sleep, since he kept on insisting he didn’t need to.

“And I am hearing no objections from you”

Every thought of talking left Kuya real quick seeing Huey suddenly sounding so commanding so suddenly. But, Kuya, being the mischievous fox who couldn’t go a second without being a pain in the ass,, grabbed Huey by his arm and pulled him onto the bed with him. Which caught the sorcerer off-guard to say the least.

Huey was met with a cheeky smile on Kuya’s face which made it hard for him to protest or say anything against it.

“Only if master is beside me. You will hear no objection from me”

“You damned bastard…”

Even with those words, Huey couldn’t help but stare at Kuya’s rather mesmerizing mismatched eyes, which Kuya noticed and chuckled. Huey snapped out of that trance-like state, and a light blush dusted his face as he had been caught, red-handed.

“Master loves to stare, doesn’t he?”

“Absolutely not! I do not know what you speak of”

“Oh you clearly do”

¸.*☆*¸.*♡*.¸

And that bickering session lasted for a good half-an-hour. Though this time it was Huey who was getting teased and called out and not the other way around. They seriously acted like an old married couple that got into a petty argument about something.

In the end, Huey was too tired to speak more so he shut up Kuya with a kiss. And shut up, the yokai did.

“There, you look better silent either way”

“Such a tease master is…”

In the span of about 20 more minutes, Kuya and Huey were wrapped in an embrace. The yokai already fallen asleep, his breath gentle as his chest slowly rose and fell. Huey on the other hand, was still yet to fall asleep. He looked at his clan member who was tangled in this embrace with him and a gentle smile befell his lips as he saw the sight of the sleeping yokai.

Huey placed a soft kiss on the yokai’s forehead. His grip tightening ever so slightly on Kuya, as if afraid to let go of the other man.

‘You don’t need to know, Kuya…the horrors that go on in the royal castle..stay in the royal castle

Notes:

Abt my bsd fic, um, I lost the file of chapter two...oops? (I'm about to kms). Also, by bloody solarian, Kuya is referring to Dante's ancestor as it was mentioned one of his ancestors made a contract with Huey which turned him into a clan member.
