Chapter Text
“I knew I’d find you here.”
Usagi startled a little when Seiya suddenly joined her on the rooftop, walking over to lean against the railing next to her. A smile appeared on Usagi’s lips, and she looked up at the sky again, which was full of stars.
The school festival had ended a while ago, so they were most likely the only ones left in the building.
“I wanted to look at the stars,” Usagi admitted, “and you just got the best view from here. Don’t you think?”
She could see in the corner of her eye that Seiya nodded her head and kept her gaze fixated on her, instead of looking at the stars far above. “Absolutely.”
With a sulking look on her face, Usagi turned to look at the taller girl again. “You’re not even looking!”
“I don’t have to,” Seiya replied with her eyes still on her. Even before she said anything else, Usagi already knew what was coming, solely judging by the grin that started to grow on Seiya’s lips. “I’m looking at the brightest star already.”
“Seiya!” Usagi quickly turned away from her so that she couldn’t see her flushed cheeks. No matter how cheesy Seiya’s pickup lines were, they never failed to evoke a certain feeling in Usagi.
A chuckle escaped Seiya’s lips and she watched Usagi quietly, waiting for her to face her again before she spoke. “You do know I love you, right?”
Usagi just stared at her wide-eyed and felt her cheeks blushing once more. This time she was not able to turn away from Seiya … or to react in any way at all.
“You don’t have to say anything,” Seiya said and moved closer to her.
Before Usagi even knew what was happening, she felt Seiya press a soft and lingering kiss to her forehead. Just when she wanted to close her eyes and allow herself to fall, Seiya pulled away again.
With a smile on her lips, she looked down at her. “I just wanted you to know that.”
