Spoke sat patiently in the grass that reached his shoulders, his eyes fixated on a bush of flowers right before him. The first rays of sun shined on him, and the landscape all around slowly developed a yellow gleam. Planet barely opened his eyes, the light pulling him from his slumber. He looked to the side, across the room, missing Spoke softly snoring as everyday. He immediately became alert, sitting up and looking around. The only other being in the room was a ginger cat that decided to move in, soundly sleeping on a shelf with photo frames. Was Spoke kidnapped, or hurt? Planet shot up and put on his armour, his sword clenched in his hand as he rushed outside.
Chilly morning air hit him, he wasn't the one to get up very early. His eyes darted all around, then stopped at the big river right outside their house. If Spoke was kidnapped and taken by boat, he would never find him. Planet brushed the thought off, walking around in a quick pace. "Spoke?" He called out, turning in a circle. No answer came his way, he called out again. "Spoke! Where are you man?" He felt slight panic rise inside him, if Spoke was harmed then it was because of him. His actions brought consequences that affected the wrong person. He made his way onto the hill, about to call out when he noticed the back of Spoke's head poking out from the tall grass. A wave of relief washed through Planet, he ran towards him. "Spoke!"
Spoke's ears twitched, he turned his head and watched as Planet ran up to him. "Hey Planet! Everything alright?" He asked once the other had reached him. Planet came to a stop, looking between Spoke and the flowerbush before him. Spoke looked back at it, "It bloomed, look," He cupped a freshly bloomed Scrub Rose. It's vivid pink certainly stood out between the green and yellowish grass. Planet sat down beside him. "I got worried sick, I thought you were gone- kidnapped, or hurt." He ranted, Spoke glanced at him again. He had a small smile on his face, "You were worried because I got up a little earlier?"
Planet stared at him, he knew that if anything happened to Spoke it would be his fault. He wouldn't forgive himself. Spoke had done nothing, so he didn't deserve anything against him either. He cracked a small smile, "Yeah, I guess I was.". Spoke looked back at the Scrub Rose in his cupped hands, he let it go. "I appreciate your worry, i'm sorry. I will tell you next time." He spoke, his voice soft and genuine. Planet nodded, "Thanks. You came out here just to see these flowers finally bloom?". Spoke nodded, "They're beautiful though, are they not?" He cupped another clump of flowers of a vivid purple, "This colour matches your hoodie.". Planet looked at it, then at his hoodie, it did match indeed.
The morning was spent with chatter, Planet took the time to listen to Spoke as he rambled on and on about the flowers he managed to farm, and which ones he really wants next. It wasn't very interesting, it were just flowers, but it brought Spoke joy. That was all that mattered to Planet. They wandered the seemingly endless field, having a lasting conversation which was something they both had missed. Spoke made Planet's favourite carrotcake the day prior, they enjoyed it as they sat staring at the river. Observing light shimmer off of the surface, a comfortable silence between the two. "Thank you Planet." Spoke said after a while, Planet looked at him. "What for?" He asked. Spoke shrugged and smiled to himself. "For trusting me, and for being my friend."
