It is finally over... 3 years of history being built, now it is finally over... It is finally their graduation day.
The party was amazing everyone was dancing, everyone cried at some point with their older friends who graduated before them showing up... Tsukishima couldn't imagine it honestly from "just high school classmates and teammates" to "my bests friends" obviously he would never admit it out loud, he wasn't that crazy yet, but he was going to miss them surely.
Tsukishima-for just a minute- thought that wasn't real, how could Hinata and Kageyama actually graduate? That was what made him believe it was just a crazy dream, but he feels all of it, the sniffing from others who got emocional, the smell of different perfumes who mainly made him sick, the beats from the music who echoed through his brain, the grass that he felt in his hands. It was real.
"Wow, I cant process it yet y'know?" He said looking to his best friend(and now boyfriend too may I add)- the only who was since the beginning of every thing- Tadashi.
"Right? It doesn't real that it is finally over and now our lifes aren't going to be connected forever"
"Yes, I have to admit I'll miss those idiots sometimes, but just sometimes" He adds with a grumpy tone.
"Okayy Tsuki, I'll miss them too, i remember like it was yesterday the first day of school, the first match against the 'freak duo', our victory on the nacionals, the spot we used to always be" He says with a laugh with a hint of nostalgia in his tone
"We should visit for a last time, before we never see it again, the spot where only we know its a fun name, it is special"
And it was what they did, behind the school was a garden full of different plants and flowers and a little gardening house where nobody paid much attention to, but the boys made their own special place, at some point even bringing decorations to make it more "homely".
Woah and that place was sure it brings out so much nostalgia. Thats when all the memories flew back, just like a time machine, making them feel like they were only 15 and dumb again. It brings all the big and small moments, the happy and sad ones, everything came back in a matter off seconds.
He still remembers in his first year...
The feeling of the volleyball touching his fingertips while blocking in his first official match, the anxiety on his stomach after winning the nationals, and that stomach feeling was the same he felt before confessing to Yamaguchi, his now boyfriend, it was unbelievable to him, his best friend since they were kids is now his boyfriend.
Tsukishima was sure he made the right choices, he couldn't had a better high school years than those 3 he had, for sure. Even after so many fights, disagreements, bickering nothing could replace it. He would never admit it out loud but deep down he felt it.
"Oh my god yes, I feel like it was yesterday when we won the nationals I swear i can feel my stomach freeze from the first time doing a serve in such a important match" Yamaguchi said with a smile in his face, the most beautiful one may Tsukishima add.
"Yeah love, and I cant believe I can call you that so freely" Tsukishima said laughing.
He remembers it on his second year...
"Why, why did I said to him meet me here? I'am going crazy for sure, I cant confess it now" He was panicking
But it was too late when he acknowledged Yamaguchi was already inside the gardening house and he was spilling all his emotions at once, saying how much he loved Tadashi and how he wishes they could be boyfriends.
The only thing it comes out of Tadashi's mouth is laugh that sent Tsuki into a panic for only a couple of seconds before he receives a little peck on his lips. In that day, Kei Tsukishima was the happiest man alive.A week after that Hinata was too,when Yamaguchi and Tsukishima told they were dating, he won the bet the team made about their relationship.
"You couldn't have laugh like that to a confession, do you have any idea how desperate I was thinking you didn't like me back?!" Tsuki said offended
"Sorryyyy Tsuki I was just as nervous as you, believe me"
"Yeah yeah sure" he said annoyingly
"Tsuki, I was thinking, will there ever be someone who will discover this place?" Yamaguchi said
"Maybe another cute little gay couple, like us" he added laughing
"No, they might find it but it will never be the same, they will build different memories, it will never be the same, we changed this part of the history and this place is filled with our memories" Tsukishima said
"Imagine how much other people and couples came here before us, it is filled with different histories and lifes" he continued to add
"Wow thats poetic Tsuki" Yamaguchi with a little laugh
"I'am glad we were one of the couples that had the privilege to have this place"
"Yes, it is nice to have somewhere only we know" Tsukishima answered with a small smile while holding Yamaguchi's hand.
They were always going to remember all the moments they lived in that school, in the classrooms, in the gym, in the gardening house were now only memories that would be transformed in histories to other students hear about how sometime many years ago that the Karasuno team won the nacionals, the four iconic boys Hinata, Kageyama, Yamaguchi and Tsukishima were once the same ones that are now new students ready to make memories just like they did and maybe one of the other two new students could be next couple to take their place.
It left a bittersweet taste on their mouth, leaving the Karasuno high was sad but the memories they made there made them slightly more happy because it was only because of school that they got so close and eventually became boyfriends and met wonderful people too. After all it is sad to leave a place you stayed for so long but om another side they now can build many other memories in another places.
And they sure did...
