Changkyun got a new notification on his phone. It was a post from the group's official twitter account.
"Oh, Honey hyung really went to watch the musical today," he's humming to himself. He recalled the video call last week, when his sunshine-honey-dripping hyung tell him he's got a time off.
"You haven't watched Shownu hyung's musical, right?" Jooheon asked. The younger kept a neutral expression.
"Yeah, I haven't."
"Didn't Hyungwon asked you to go last time on the group chat?"
This question distressed Changkyun a little bit. "Yeah, but I'm working that day, and I can't procrastinate. You know me, hyung," he dodged the question.
"Right, right. How about going next Wednesday? I have free times and I planned to go, it'd be nice to have a company," offered Jooheon.
This is the thing about Changkyun. He can lie, but not for much. So, he answered the offer by:
"No, sorry hyung. I already planned to watch it with someone," which was half a lie, half a truth. He indeed promised to watch the musical with a specific person, but can't say for sure.
Changkyun sighed and stared at the ceiling. Would he really get to witness Shownu hyung's acting? Going alone won't be as nice as going as two. But, Kihyun hyung is pretty busy these days. By joining military band, he had busy schedules to perform and train. He told Changkyun he wasn't sure when he can took some times off, and even suggested the maknae to go with other hyungs or by himself like Hyungwon. Which Changkyun strongly refused.
"No, I want it to be our date!" was his exact words. And because Kihyun was familiar with his stubbornness, he just giggled and said:
"Okay, I promise you a date,"
May went by so fast, and the video call frequencies between the couple were lessen. Changkyun was busy too at this point, preparing for the world tour, merchandises, and his new talkshow. Until the last day of May.
The usual ringtone to his special someone rang through the dorm.
"Hi baby," the person on the other line said and it melted Changkyun. He smiled.
"I've got a great news for us," Kihyun said with a big smile, "I can take a day off next week!"
He shifted the phone in his hand and just smiled, stared at his lover's eyes through the phone.
"I can fulfill my promise! We can have a date!" Kihyun sounded so happy and giggly, it transferred to Changkyun as well so he did.
"Thank you for making a time for me, hyung."
"Of course! You're really important for me, even my mom knew it," he joked.
"So... when is the best time for you?" the younger asked. He saw a crease on his hyung's forehead. Cute.
"What about Wednesday? But it will be in the middle of the week you can be busy. Monday? No, not good. Early days of the week is not good. Do we have to tell the group that we're dating? It won't be good if-"
"Hyung," Changkyun cut the blabbers, "any days are good. And yes, please do tell I don't want to hide anymore," he smiled. "Choose the day, please?"
"Friday?"
"Friday."
