Chapter 1: Asking for Help

Chapter Text

Jason nodded, “Alright I’m in. I’ll help but if you want Jason Head, son of Talia Head CEO of Head Industries, the company needs to get something out of it, or mom will burn the plan.”

Nathan grimaced but nodded, his plan needed Jason as Jason Head, not just another hitter, “What does she want?”

“Your client created the designs that your mark stole, right?”

“Yes. Why?”

“It’s amazing work, inspired even. Head Industries would be a fool to let a scientist like her get away from us.”

Alec frowned, “Head Industries isn’t hiring, and our client can’t find a job because Kadra has black listed her.”

Jason waved off the concern, “We are always hiring when we find people of value. She contacted you because of the medical treatments her son needs for the illness that he picked up when she was sent to live internationally by Kadra, correct?”

Nathan nodded, “That’s why time is of the essence.”

“If she agree to hire on to Head Industries we offer medical insurance at the time of hire so she doesn’t need to worry about that three month shit a lot of companies pull so her sons future treatment will be covered. As a sign on bonus we’ll cover all medical costs for her family for the next three months. That should give her time to move, get settled and started at the Head facility of her choice. We will of course cover moving costs and forward money to her for a down payment on a home if she needs it. I’d personally recommend they get the rest of the family tested for anything they may have picked up abroad as well.”

Sophie blinked, “Your serious.”

“I’m always serious about business, and as I said we’d be fools to let her go. Her brilliance will bring great returns for Head Industries. The estimated cost for the treatment her son needs is less than fifty thousand and if anyone else in the family has picked it up without showing symptoms yet the estimated cost would be a max of four thousand. We’ve done much more than paying less than sixty thousand dollars in medical bills to hire a promising scientist like your client on.”

Alec boggled, “More than that? What could be more than-”

“Hardison,” Elliot glared at his friend, “Don’t ask questions you don’t want the answer to.”

The Leverage team looked from Elliot to the smiling Jason.

“Right…” Alec pulled his laptop over, “Let’s call our client and see what she thinks about the offer.”

A surprisingly kind and gently interview later, Head Industries had a new hire ready to sign on and Jason had contacted someone to contact the hospital the client’s son was at to start paying the hospital bills for any testing or treatment’s the doctors could want to order.

As Jason sent his last message out he turned to Nathan, “Now… how can I be of assistance?”
