Summary:

Judgement Boy dwells too much on his past,
And Hell's Chef comes to help

Notes:

A short Hell's judgement fanfic

Work Text:

Judgement Boy often thought about his life before, when he was human. He doesn't remember much, only small glimpses that this world allows him to remember. He stops by a lone mirror and looks at himself, he can't quite remember how he used to look he remembers he had blonde hair and wore glasses just as he does in his afterlife, slim-ish face.
But everything else is just a blur, sometimes he thinks he sees a glimpse of his old self slightly when he looks into the mirror long enough, an old memory just out of reach… He sighs and frowns at his reflection, this is him now. He stared at it for a little longer until he heard footsteps getting closer, he turned his head and found Hell's Chef coming down the hall. Judgement Boy felt relieved, He thought that Chef was a more sensible guest than the others.

“Chef! I require your help with something” Judgement Boy said in an attention grabbing tone.
Hell's Chef looked up at Judgement Boy, tilting his head in a confused manner.
“What is wrong” Hell's Chef said
“I've been thinking alot… about my past, how things used to be for me” Judgement Boy said in a low tone. “Do you remember your old life, Chef?”
“Little bit…” Chef said thinking. “Was a successful chef” Chef spoke. “Do you remember anything else?” “No” Chef said, looking up at the scale. “Tell me, when you look in the mirror long enough, can you see glimpses of yourself, how you used to look?” “Sometimes. I try not looking too long though” hell's Chef said, looking down at the floor. “What did Judgement Boy used to do?”

“I… used to be a successful lawyer, a very successful lawyer… something went wrong, and that's how I ended up here.” Judgement Boy said with a sigh. “I made the wrong choice…” Judgement Boy said frowning. “Don't cry.” “I-I’m not crying, I don't even think I can do that anymore” Judgement Boy said with a stutter. Hell's Chef knew he was though, he saw a tear leave his eye. He didn't want to point it out further though for JB's sake. Judgement Boy looked at the mirror again. “I can't remember my name. Everyone just started calling me Judgement Boy one day, and I too started calling myself that.” Judgement Boy said, turning his head back to Hell's Chef. “Do you remember your name, Chef?” “No. Is just Hell's Chef now.” Judgement Boy looked down again. “Well I'm just glad you and I share a similar problem.” Judgement Boy said. “Here.” Hell's Chef said with his arms open.
“What?” JB said “Hug.” Hell's Chef said. Judgement Boy was confused.
“Are you sure about this?” “I am. Here.” Judgement Boy lowered himself down and wrapped his arms around Hell's Chef, and so did he.
The warmth of Chef's fire was so calming for JB.
“Better man now, Made up for mistake. Always chance to be better”

“I think you're right… I can make up for everything. I can be better…” Judgement Boy said calmly.
Chef pulled out of the hug to cup JB's face slightly.
“You're good man on inside truly” Chef said softly. As he went back to embrace him.

They held each other for a long while.
They both left the embrace. “I liked that alot…” JB said blushing slightly. Hell's Chef nodded in agreement. “I haven't been held like that in a long time.” “Feel better?” Chef said tilting his head.
“A Lot better…”
