Work Text:
When Adam and Yauch saw each other for the first time in months, it was nothing like movies will have you believe. There were no sparks, no fireworks lighting up the sky. They didn’t sprint towards each other or tackle one another to the ground in a heap of laughter. Adam’s walk to Yauch was unnervingly still.
Yauch took a few steps as Adam drew closer, not many but a few. Adam dropped his bag when they met and they just hugged, arms slotting together like puzzle pieces. Adam dug his face into Yauch’s shoulder and he couldn’t tell if he was crying or not. Yauch could tell. He didn’t mention his shirt growing wet with tears. They held each other tight like if one were to let go, they would drift away from each other forever.
Yauch’s voice cracked as he whispered, “Don’t leave again.”
Adam shook his head against Yauch’s body. “No,” he said, voice muffled. “I won’t.” He pauses before, “I can’t.”
