Work Text:
Rosie stood a few feet away from a shop that black walls and a welcoming red door. She could feel knots in the pit of her stomach as she just stared for a moment.
Never, in her wildest nightmares, did she think she would have to go near this end of town again. Rumor had crept to her ears that there was a new shop that was more or less stealing her customers. Normally, she wouldn't care. Having a little competition in sales was more than fine with her. However, the one running the store caused the hair on the back of her neck to stand up.
The owner was the brother of her first husband. It was obvious that this was a test of her patience. Even now, her hands shook as she looked forward.
It wasn't until she felt another take hold of her left hand, placing a chaste kiss upon her knuckles, lingering where she wore a golden wedding band rested on her hand. The gentle gesture was enough to shake Rosie from her thoughts as she turned her head to see Alastor lingering close.
"Are you sure you wish to do this, Rosie? You seem distracted." his tone was soft, but there was a hint of concern. "You know I could just take care of him for you.."
His words earned a small smile from Rosie, "No, I appreciate the offer but I feel that this is something I must do. Consider it as a bit of closure on my part. I would like you to still be there, if you don't mind?"
"I wouldn't dream of doing anything less, my dear." He holds an arm out to her, "Shall we?"
Taking his arm, Rosie walks with him to the door. She allows him to open it for her as she steps inside. Rosie's eyes skim over the shop and it was taking every ounce of sanity to not ask Alastor to burn the place down. Every bit of merchandise that was shown on the shelves were knock offs to what she sold. Between the clothing, the key chains, and even the perfume she sold.
She could see that there were several of her old regulars looking over the wares, all of whom earned a narrowed glance from the cannibal Overlord. Rosie made her way to the front with Alastor close behind her.
He would let her do the talking, but would remain close by if she required his assistance.
Approaching the front desk, a short reptile demon with blue scales waved at the pair.
"Hello hello! Welcome to Alem's! Shoppie! You needs it, I has it! We make deal!"
Oh dear Satan. He was as small brained as he was the day her ex introduced them. Surely his memory couldn't be that bad..could it?
Rosie leaned into the counter as a sigh left her lips.
"Hello Alem. I see you've found a new hobby by mimicking my shop. Any particular reason why you're doing that?"
His little head turned left then right, slow blinking at Rosie before his memory kicked in. Once small red beads, dilated as he shrank in place.
"You killed brother. No want trouble! Just money!"
Rosie glanced over her shoulder to give Alastor a look, "What do you think, darling? Should we spare him?"
A bemused hum sounded from the Radio Demon as he adjusted his monocle, "Honestly dear, I think giving him a chance to speak is mercy. He insults your radiance by mocking your wares with his name. Wasting your time with him is more than he deserves."
Alem slowly peaks up from behind the counter, only to shriek at the sight of the Radio Demon, "Why Radio Demon?!"
Rosie couldn't help but feel amused by the look of pure horror over his blue scales.
"Oh? Did I not introduce you to my husband? He's quite the catch, if I may say so. We've known each other for years and figured that since we act like a married couple in public already, might as well make it official." A soft chuckle slips from her lips, "He's certainly more reliable than your abusive brother was."
Rosie shook her right arm out as a silver knife falls into her hand. The demon behind the desk took a few steps back, panicking.
"No kill Alem! Alem give discount! Yes yes! Save you money!"
Rosie blinked for a moment before breaking into a fit of giggles, "Oh no no. I'm not paying for a thing in here. You've ripped off my wares and now you're going to pay for it with your life."
She tosses her dagger at the demon, landing in his chest. Upon impact, a poison that was in the blade expanded through his body until his body exploded into multiple blood reptile pieces.
Alastor raised a brow as a toothy grin formed over his lips as he gave a round of applause.
"What a marvelous performance, darling! Since when could your knives cause their target to explode?"
Rosie walked around the desk to retrieve her weapon, caring little for the fact that she was covered in blood. She picked up the blade to clean the blood off with her sleeve.
"Oh, it's a little something I've been working on for the past few months."
"Interesting. Now then, about this..sad excuse of an establishment?"
"Burn it. The souls here are all yours, darling." Making her way back around, she gives Alastor a brief kiss on the cheek.
She noted that his pleasant smile grew to quite the toothy wicked grin. She already had her fun and now it was his turn. Sliding from his side, Rosie made her way outside as Alastor chuckled under his breath. Those that didn't leave after witnessing the death of the shop owner die, were left to a worse fate.
It wasn't long before the sounds of screams echoed from the windows. Creeping green and black flames engulfed the building. Rosie took a deep breath. This may leave quite the scorch mark on her territory but for a moment of revenge, it was worth it.
Not long after, Alastor's Shadow materialized beside Rosie before he formed at her side.
He wrapped an arm around her waist, pulling Rosie close, "That was quite refreshing. At least my next broadcast will have a new set of screams for all to hear."
"I look forward to it. Thank you again for accompanying me today, Alastor."
He lead Rosie away from the burning scene so they could continue their day, "It was my pleasure."
