“Who’s ready for beach day?” Orla asked, grinning.
The Rising Volt Tacklers decided to take a break from going after Rayquaza, so Orla decided a beach day was in order, and Captain Pikachu agreed.
“Me!” Roy excitedly jumped up and down. “I can’t wait to see all the water types out there!…And go swimming.”
“Fue!” Fuecoco agreed, holding onto Roy’s hat.
“Maybe I can convince Dot to come too!” Liko said. Ever since they made their own curry and bonded more, Liko thought that her and Dot were becoming good friends.
“Are you sure that’s going to work? You might scare them off.” Friede wasn’t sure about this.
“I can at least try, right?” With that, Liko headed to Dot’s room.

Dot was editing a Nidothing video in her room when there was a knock on her door. “Um…Dot?”
Oh good, it’s Liko and not Roy. Actually if it was Roy, he’d probably run over to the door with those loud footsteps of his. Too loud actually…
“What do you want?” She acted annoyed. Actually she was a bit annoyed, but not really. It was getting harder to be uninterested in anything Liko said lately. It’s a bit confusing.
“Uh…I was wondering if you wanted to go to the beach with us. Mollie helped Orla plan a beach day and…yeah.”
A beach day? With Liko? Like together? In their swimsuits? Swimming? Her brain stopped functioning for a moment.
Liko was getting concerned with a lack of response. “Dot?”
They snapped out of it. “Um yeah I’d like to go…I mean sure I guess.”
“Okay! I’ll go tell them you’re coming!” She ran off to tell the others.

Dot…didn’t know what to think of this situation.
On one hand, they liked spending more time with Liko, but on the other hand…wearing a swimsuit wasn’t really her thing.
She (with some urging from Quaxly) slowly exited the changing room. Did everyone really have to see her like this?
“Hi Dot.”
They saw Liko and immediately hid behind a corner. She was wearing a light blue one piece.
“Um…hi.” Can she go away now?
“What’s wrong?” Liko headed over to them.
Oh Arceus she’s coming over here-“Nothing! I just like this…very cold wall.” Not really, it was freezing over here.
“…Are you embarrassed to be wearing that?”
Dot looked down at her purple swimsuit. “…No.”
She found Dot and was face to face with her. “You look fine. Don’t worry about it-we’re here to have fun!” She smiled.
Why was her face warm? “R-right!”
“Let’s go. And if anyone says anything, I’ll…have a stern talk with them!” She nodded, determinedly.
“Okay.” They let Liko take her hand and lead her away.
As it turned out, Dot did have a fun time at the beach! They walked around with Liko, played in the water with Quaxly, swam away from Roy’s canonballs, and made sandcastles.
After they were back on the ship, Liko knocked on Dot’s door again. “Hey Dot?”
“Yeah?”
“…Thanks for coming today.”
The warm stuff was back. Did she have a fever? “N-no problem.”
‘I came because of you, after all.’
