Work Text:

Walks for hours in the dark feeling all hell

He knew going out at dawn was not a good idea, not in a city like this, and especially not for someone like him. It was, in fact, a stupid idea, and he’d thought that from the second he had it: when he woke up on an uncomfortable mattress in a cold room, staring at the ceiling as if it were a monster capable of swallowing him whole. He continued to think so when he got up, when he put on his sneakers, when he walked to the door, and when he left.
Geo was nothing if not a realist.

That’s why, when he heard the footsteps behind him, echoing off the ivy-choked walls of the alleyway, he knew it wouldn’t end well. Similarly, he knew that if he turned around, he would see something inappropriate, at the very least. Even so, against all the warnings in his head, he did just that. Looking back, he saw a silhouette, dark and vague, almost ghost-like.

You got a 9 to 5, so I'll take the night shift

He registered it and paused, waiting for that ghost to step into the light, should it be brave enough to do so. The alley was dimly lit by a streetlight not far from where Geo was standing, meaning he was also cloaked in the semi-darkness. The ghost had stopped when he had, confronting him with its presence and low, steady breathing. Geo scoffed and, turning on his heels, resumed walking.

And I'll never see you again If I can help it

He didn’t feel intimidated by his pursuer, who moved slowly and indiscreetly, trying to provoke a reaction from him. Despite this, when he heard them cough, a shiver ran through him - you can train your mind, but your heart is unfaithful to your principles.
Nevertheless, he kept moving forward, feeling more alone than ever.

In five years I hope the songs feel like covers

Now, if when he got home he saw a bruised face, with cyan eyes staring at him as lifeless as stone and thin lips curled in a smile, he told himself that none of it really mattered. He had convinced himself that it didn’t really matter that the blood on his brother’s clothes didn’t seem to be his own. Or that even when Hyugo seemed exhausted, Geo overheard him say how happy he was to be home. He did his best to avoid thinking about how happy he was for that too.

Am I a masochist, resisting urges to punch you in the teeth, call you a bitch and leave
Why did I come here to sit and watch you sit and stare at your feet?
What was the plan? Absolve your guilt and shake hands?
