My Favorite Flower

Summary:

Chiaki just wanted to show a long-time friend her favorite spot..

A sudden revelation later, and now it’s Uchiha Madara’s preferred getaway destination; too!

Work Text:

Chiaki was gushing as she dragged Uchiha Madara through a dense section of the forest the Fusae occupied. There was a slight bounce in her step, and her aura seemed to radiate just a smidge warmer with joy as she guided her friend to one of her favorite spots!

”I completely found this by accident, wouldn’t you believe that?! An absolute gem like I’m about to show you shouldn’t be tucked away; it’s so criminal!”

Chiaki happily chattered away to a rather drifting Madara that was delving in and out of whatever the Fusae was saying. He couldn’t help it. He’d known the woman long enough, and was aware this was a habit of hers.

One he’d grown fond of, and exhibited it in his own way!

”Oh! I remember those blue mushrooms! C’mon, we’re so close; it’s just up ahead!” Chiaki chirped, glancing back at Madara to see if he’d been paying attention, or if he was excited at all.

The Fusae was prompt to scowl at her friend when she noticed the vacant stare, and the haziness glossing over his obsidian pits that indicated he hadn’t been.

”So rude, I can take you home; Y’know?”

Chiaki teased, pursing her lips in a pout as Madara’s face faltered from absent, to inquisitive, and back again as his shorter traveling companion made light jabs at him.

His brows furrowed, and his nose creased with exhaustion over Chiaki’s outburst as his pinched the bridge as a means to alleviate some of the tension formulating behind his lids from an oncoming migraine.

”Must you be so brattish? This better not be much further, I’ll take you up on that offer of yours..” Madara snipped, exhaling a sigh.

He opened his charcoals just in time to catch Chiaki narrow her beautiful browns at him in displeasure over the Uchiha’s lackadaisical attitude.

”Keep giving me that look and I’ll give you a reason to be unsatisfied.”

Madara warned, and Chiaki’s lips pulled thin; not liking what she was hearing.

”Hn, fine; have it your way.” Chiaki submitted, a little salty from being humbled; but not for long!

Just a few yard later, Chiaki was pulling open a curtain of thick, mossy, foliage that hung down from the canopy on the uppermost parts of the giant trees in the area. Chiaki ushered Madara through first, and he could hear the gentle shuffling of her close on his heels as they both entered into an overgrown, private, glade.

Wildflowers obscured the ground with how many there were, fireflies lazily danced among the petals and the distant bubbling of a brook nearby could be heard.

It was breathtaking! Madara had never stumbled across, or had purposely been shown something so vibrant, alive and alluring.

Right. This place was romantic, and the Uchiha didn’t quite know how to handle the information he was being given!

Chiaki’s earthy orbs were filled with awe as they tried to absorb every intricate detail she was seeing. Her face conveyed unadulterated bliss and relaxation from having been around Madara long enough to trust him.

She was observing her flowers, and Madara was monitoring Chiaki from his peripherals; his Sharingan flickering from wanting to activate and burn this memory to mind, forever.

”Isn’t it the best thing you’ve ever seen?!” Chiaki exclaimed, bending down lady-like to pick one of the flowers for a keepsake before glancing back up and giving a broad smile at the, now, sentimental Uchiha.

”Nn, I.. suppose you could say something like that.” Madara ‘agreed’, a faint pink threatening to dust his cheeks when Chiaki looked up at him and sent him that smile that made his stomach quiver.

He was relieved the Fusae didn’t have any suspicions that he could’ve, perhaps, been talking about her. That was a bridge for another day, though. Tonight, Chiaki was Uchiha Madara’s secret, favorite, flower!
